This feels backwards. They're not dicking it over because it's a bomb, it's a bomb because they are dicking it over with minimal advertising and sabotage like sticking in on Streaming straight away.

How much money does a movie have to make on opening weekend to be considered a success?

It needs to make it's budget back at the very least.

But the opening weekend was pretty weak for a movie this budget.

I mean this film is being beaten currently by a r rated horror film and a r rated action film. And it's the lowest box office opening weekend the dceu has ever had. I don't really know why you wouldn't want to Just pull the plug if we're hvainh a reboot anyway.

I personally would wait until the movie gets pulled out of theaters before we say that the movie is a box office bomb.

A lot of the commentary seems to suggest that the pandemic has had a detrimental effect on superhero movies in general, unless it is a "must see" event like Spider-Man No Way Home even the MCU films are seeing reduced reception and box office. The delays (four years since the first film) and general public support eroding changes at DC and Warner Brothers couldn't have helped either.

If anyone's curious the opening box office is 64 million which yeah nor great.

A shame cause I just watched the movie and it's fun. Not the best but an entertaining romp.

Shame that Dawyne Jonhson's ego is what prevented the film from having Black Adam in it.

I mean, if a movie isn't doing well in opening weekend, does that automatically mean that a film is going to be a bomb at the box office, even though the film hasn't been in theaters that long yet?
