Whew....

-Gene breathed a brief sigh of relief as the the spider-girl backed off. He looked up at her warily, but only for the briefest of moments. He smiled, and held out a hand toward her-

Ahhh, don't sweat it. Misunderstandings happen to the best of us! Name's Gene D. Zarther, and I'm still feeling fit as the tide, thanks for asking!

Streets (PSYQZ Aichi)

-She... stopped?-

-Aichi actually does look rather relieved, and still a bit nervous.-

"You don't need to apologize. It seems like this was just a misunderstanding."

-He gets something of a small smile, but as mentioned he's still a bit tense and nervous.

-He's also closer to being himself like now than usual. The idea of people being in danger, people fighting, and such things... Those help bring him back down to reality a bit more.-

-He's still a Zombie, of course, but right now he's more like himself than he would be in another situation.-

"No, you didn't damage anything. It seems like everything is fine."

-He does a quick scan of the area, and thankfully it seems like nothing has been particularly damaged...?-

-Still, with this done, Aichi deactivates his armor, returning to just his normal clothing.-

"I'm Aichi Sendou. It's nice to meet the both of you!"

Card Capital (Misaki)

-What does she have? Well...-

"There's plenty of meat in the fridge."

-With Whisper dropping by, she needed to make sure the fridge was stocked with it...-

"I can get some potstickers made quickly, along with some rice. I can make some eggs, or..."

-She lists off a variety of things, since the narrator is genuinely not sure what Misaki would have in her fridge.-

-Expect whatever would be in a modern Japanese home's kitchen as options.-

-She's not a bad cook, but sadly it seems that Aichi has actually surpassed her.-

-...And Shin is the cook in this household anyway, but he's not here.-

"Your choice."

Card Capital — Peter Parker

"You mentioned steak?"

Card Capital (Misaki)

-Misaki nods.-

"Steak it is."

-Onward, to preparing the steak!-

-And for the sake of the narrative, Misaki fixes that up rather quickly!-

-Plates for both herself and Peter are soon set on the kitchen table.-

"Here. Hopefully it's good."

-She hates admitting it, but... she's not overly used to being in the kitchen.-

-She can do it, but as mentioned, Shin does most of the work about cooking.-

-But now that the food is ready, and Misaki presumably does her 'itadakimasu' (The narrator almost forgot that it was a thing she used to have these characters do)...-

"All right, start from the beginning. What happened before?"

Card Capital — Peter Parker

"Hyperion's CEO — he's planning something. Something big, something dangerous," he says as he starts cutting into the steak. "Wipe-out-the-city kind of dangerous. So, I thought I might try getting in there and getting something that would discredit him. Or at least, start to do that work." Peter glances at the steak, blinking. "Hey, nice color. Not bad!"

Card Capital (Misaki)

-Part of her can't help but feel like she shouldn't be surprised by this. The Nexus seems to bring in a lot of... well, very bad and shady characters.-

-And yet... once again she's thrown off guard by something big and bad like this.-

"..."

-She's quiet for a moment, thinking deeply about it.-

"He's growing power and influence rather quickly, from what I can tell. Seems like they're all over the place on the news..."

-She closes her eyes.-

"Not only the leader of a corporation, but he's also manipulating the media as well... He's gotten footage of you twice, and framed it to seem like he's the victim."

-Honestly... This is definitely not good. The guy's up to something on that large of a scale...-

"It's clear that he's crafty and prepared... From what I can tell, he's good at sweet-talking. Get dirt on him, and he manages to minimize the damage."

-So sadly attempting that didn't go quite as well as they would have hoped... At least not the first time.-

-From what she can tell by reading up on all of the discourse about Hyperion on the internet, that's about how it seems...-

"He needs to be stopped before he can do whatever it is he has in mind..."

-As for the steak... Misaki actually blinks.-

"Oh... Thanks. Shin usually cooks, but he's back home."

-...Is that a tiny blush on her face? She's just a tad embarrassed.-

"I tried to get audio of what I found, but —" Peter shakes his head. "The mics in my suit don't isolate sound well. So you mostly hear Jack shouting over his own snuff tape."

Streets – Kloë Kinber

"Gene D. Zarther. Aichi Sendou. Strange names," she commented, testing the foreign words in her mouth as she absentmindedly accepted Gene's handshake. They seemed to be similar to names she knew; albeit slight corruptions of them. Definitely intriguing.

And as one would expect, her hand was cold, sharp, and very obviously metal. Its grip was almost precisely calculated to not crush his, even though it was clearly capable of doing so. But her limbs overall moved in a manner fluid—arguably even more so than real human limbs.

"You folk seem... amicable. For now. Any idea where I am? I don't recognize this part of town. Woke up on the side of a building I've never seen before. Back's killing me now," she grumbled, stretching her cybernetic limbs a moment in order to straighten it. Her spinal limbs readjusted again to properly support her, while the rest of her limbs seemed to actually extend a few inches in fractured points. Though it wasn't clear how far they could extend, assuming it wasn't just intentional give in their structure.

"...Y'know, didn't expect a kid like you to be able to afford that kinda tech. You get that legitimate?" she questioned suddenly, directing a neutral look at Aichi as she studied his armour intently. Her spiderlike limbs extended out again as they stomped her over to him, peering closely and encircling in a way that wasn't made clear if she was trying to intimidate him or not. "Reggies'd kill for tech like that."

Card Capital (Misaki)

-That's extremely unfortunate...-

"I see..."

-So what can be done then...?-

Streets (PSYQZ Aichi)

-Huh? His name is strange?-

-...-

-...Well... he supposes his name would be odd to someone from another dimension...-

"Ah... This place is an inter-dimensional nexus. It brings people and things from different dimensions."

-He should probably just say it upfront...-

-As for her intently examining the armor as it turns back into his watch...-

"Eh? Oh... It was a gift. A friend of mine wanted to make sure I was safe, and gave it to me so I could defend myself..."

-Thinking back on it, it was such an extravagant gift... He didn't even realize it was supposed to be something he was meant to use. He genuinely thought it was meant to be like... decorative armor or something.-

"It's not the end, though," he says. "Things are just gonna be — interesting from here on out."

Streets – Kloë Kinber

"An inter-dimensional–" Kloë attempted to echo, before being cut off by her own hysterical laughter. The concept of it was so sudden and absurd that she couldn't help but double over, even as her weakened spine screamed in agony and protest. Her spinal limbs flailed about uselessly for a moment before extending out and finding the ground again, and she gasped for breath—choking for a moment before forcing down her laughter and the bubbling hilarity and attempting to regain at least some form of composure in her stance.

"Oh my god, that's the funniest s*** I've heard. I like you, kid. Good sense of humour," she chuckled, covering her face with her metal forearm to stifle more amused giggles before clearing her throat and shaking it off again. "Sorry 'bout that. Don't laugh that often. Wait, you said that were a gift?" she realised, peering at him suspiciously before shaking her head yet again and grinning profusely. "Damn, you got good friends. Or rich friends. Ain't normally mutual, but if you say ‘inter-dimensional nexus’ and believe it..."

She still seemed to find that funny, but withheld herself from any more sporadic bursts of laughter. There was also a slight hint of jealousy in her tone at the word ‘friend’, but she didn't dwell much on that either. She focused instead on rubbing her right shoulder. The prosthetics ached sometimes on her still-present stumps, and painkillers were too precious a commodity to waste on anything other than emergencies.

"So that aside. Never been to this part of town before but it don't look too run down. That's why I thought you were privy. Guess you're just nice ones. Heh. Didn't think those existed anymore. Guess I just got bad luck, right?"

Card Capital (Misaki)

-Yeah...-

-Misaki nods, although it's clear that she still seems a bit concerned.-

"...If you need a place to stay or regroup, you and Whisper are always welcome here. I want to help however I can."

Streets (Aichi)

-Aichi is a bit startled by the sudden laughter.-

-Well... He supposes it is a rather silly idea.-

"Ehehehe... I can see why you would think it was just a joke... I doubt a lot of people would believe it, at first."

-Instead of being embarrassed, he actually takes it in stride.-

-...? Well... Actually, he's not sure how much money Lune has...-

"I don't really know if Lune is rich... I didn't really stop and think about it at the time..."

-Honestly, he hadn't had money with him when he was given the armor...-

-Although... They must be 'nice' ones? Once again, Aichi seems rather confused.-

"Ah... I'm sorry, but I'm still a little confused. Privy to what?"

-He's still trying to be polite, although he's not as sheepish as he would be when he's not a Zombie.-

If anyone can play as Phoenix Wright this will be very helpful for Missile's current storyline. For the person who's playing Phoenix: Look through back on my posts to find out more about this 'girl'. Also, last post for today.

I walked into the office room where Phoenix was at. He was sitting at his desk reading a law book. I pawed at him to get his attention.

'Hello Phoenix, I need your help. There has been a murder and a robbery at the police station and I believe that I got the blame for it. Some random girl who has a sword told me that I'm a witness in this case, even though I'm a K-9. Anyways, I need you to defend me. Well, what do you say?'

I waited for his answer.

Streets – Kloë Kinber

"Privy to tech. Y'know, can actually afford s***? Or just get it, in your case... I dunno, haven't put much thought into it. Like you got it and you're keeping it. No worries. Unless it blows up. I'm a reggie, though. Not privy. All this crap ain't cheap, and I can't fork over any dough to maintain it," she motioned to herself, before sighing. "S***, can't afford to eat most time. Crap noodles and canned stuff. I won't beat around the bush with you, kid. I'm in debt. Hella debt. All this stuff on me... it's provisional. Just so I can actually go and give 'em the money when it comes to it."

She seemed about to say more, but her mouth froze open and the words died on her lips. So her eyes fell to stare at her mechanical feet, and her jaw slowly hinged shut again. One could almost hear the metaphorical (or possibly literal) gears clicking away in her head as she considered her next words.

"I uh... I ain't got a place to go," she confessed, glancing up at him again and seeming to crease her brow slightly. "Not here, anyway. I don't know where ‘here’ is either. But... uh, not that I want charity. Just like... directions?" she frowned, scratching at the back of her head before shrugging. "I dunno. Something to keep me going. Nothing much. 'Nother thing I ain't privy to is knowing what the heck to do."

Not that I haven't put any thought into it, she mentally added.

"I wouldn't wanna draw you any attention," Peter says.

Street, Near Breezy Place

(Spider-Man is having yet another dignified Spider-Man pastry, munching a bear claw his tentacles are holding while reading a newspaper his tentacles are also holding.)

Street Near Breezy Place

-An old, rusted-up bus is pulling up the street-

-It slows as it nears Spider-Man, coming to a stop as the doors open to reveal the driver-

"Get in."

Street

…! Why sh—

…

(Takes a slow munch of his bear claw, silent for a few seconds. The mask fits tightly enough around his face to where the old bloke at the wheel can see Spidey's brow furrow.)

...Alright.

(And just like that, he slips in.)

Bus

-Inside, he sees a surly-looking man◊ with a bird on his shoulder as the bus takes off down the road-

-The driver speaks up again-

"So...'superhero.' Ha! Now I've seen it all."

Bus

...Could you please explain where it is we are going?

(Annoyed inflection, or maybe just tired... He does sound real tired.)

Bus

"Meet the Crimson Raiders. The ones that sheriff's put up posters about."

-The terrorists?!-

-It's slightly hard to understand the other man's Russian-ish accent-

"You want an explanation? How's about a story, eh?"

"Marcus, for the love of-"

"Shaddup, I'm telling it anyways. My bus, my rules."
