It apparently applies to book stores in general though
True. But I'm interested to see it from Honda's perspective, considering that Japan is trying to get itself open to tourism.
Though I don't know if Honda-san did encounter Asian tourists who speak conversational to no Japanese at all.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"This is good
Definitely an under appreciated show
Ah the perils of retail
I'm liking it so far. Feels accurate to my experiences (as a customer). I do wonder whether they'll be able to keep the premise fresh for a full season, but I guess Weird Customer Stories never get old.
It's been fun.Never
And here I was feeling bummed I didn’t get hired by Barnes and Nobles
What are the chain bookstores in Japan, or just Tokyo?
There are a few. I go to Yuurindou (有隣堂) usually, but there's also Book 1st, and, uh... some others.
It's been fun. Thanks, I should look those up!
The 5th episode now has a reference to Golden Kamuy.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"I enjoyed that
Motivational workshops are the worst
I picked this up a bit late but it's hilarious. I love all the Engrish.
They/them or she/herThe latest episode has Honda going on a party with book wholesalers. XD
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"I immediately recognized that the wholesaler was voiced by Kosuke Toriumi.

They/them or she/herHad my eye on this for a while, but hadn't gotten around to watching it until today. Didn't take long to get through all of it, since the episodes are so short.
It's amazing. I was cracking up almost the whole time.
I watched it and liked it.
That moment where you can see Honda dying inside as someone else is talking about Honda's manga. XD
The 10th episode has me crackin about Honda's experience in stocking up manga from certain publishers.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"
Been watching Skull-face Bookseller Honda-san for a bit now with two episodes out of the way.
It's an interesting way to see how work is done at Japanese bookstores.
