She notes the gear hidden in the compartments, double checks her own M249. "True, but when the alarms sound, news crews will likely come around trying to get as much footage as they can, and freelancers will come up closer for the sake of a photo. Moving our loot's gonna be hard, too, and we'll need something bigger for any of the larger pieces, too, like a chopper. I can call in a pilot, but we risk losing whatever we load onto it. If we're just planning on grabbing as much as we can carry onto the Dragon, spike strips and stray bullets will be a problem; they'll get the tires if we're not careful. Unless you've fitted any bulletproof ones, too?"

"What?" Adrien interrupts. "No, moving the loot is gonna be the easy part. Have you forgotten that you have a teleporter on your team? I can't bring, like, the whole fucking car with me," they add, "but I can bring a box that I'm carrying in my hands."

"We're talking about a museum. A large and popular one, loaded with relics. If we plan on making a profit, we'll need a lot of boxes for it to work. So, we get the smaller yet still valuable items out first, using your powers, then we manually extract the larger artifacts. At least, the ones that have actual value."

"Sure, sure, whatever you say..." Adrien ponders this. "I have this intuition that the smaller ones are gonna be the most valuable anyway, but I'm not sure if that's based on reality, or just thousands of hours of Skyrim." Either way, I should work on upping my carrying capacity when I get any downtime... then again, there's no rest for the wicked, is there?

Shade: " If we're going to deal with them I'll be using my powers to hide and hopefully catch them by surprise at the right moment. Don't want you thinking I have ran off or something." He didn't try to hide that he was nervous about the whole thing.

The detective steps on the gas as the car races after the black pickup truck. He briefly turns to Shade.

Det. GC: Don't worry, I can provide you with one of my gadgets if you wish. Now, time to get this jerk's attention!

Meanwhile, the knight continues the conversation.

Black Knight:   Heh, I know enough about the museum to know that it's not as big as you'd think it is. We'll just have to cut off power to the museum to take care of the cameras and alarms and...   

The knight was cut off at that moment when the detective pressed one of the buttons in his car, causing a hidden and odd-looking gun to rise up from a hidden panel on the front of the car and shoot something at the back window of the pickup truck, which upon impact releases a pink, rubbery substance that completely covers the back window.

   WHAT THE—   

The knight looks at the side view mirrors and sees the detective's car, noticing the odd gun and the girl on the roof.

   Curses, we seem to have enemies already right after us!   

Once the truck comes into view, the girl smirks. With a twist of her left hand, she blinks from the roof of GC's car into the bay of BK's pickup.

"Hey there, buddies."

She glances down to notice that her legs are embedded in the pink... stuff? GC just shot. Whoops, looks like I flubbed the blink again. Still, I can work with this.

Thank fuck she had the foresight to sit where she could avoid a number of projectiles. Unfortunately, that also puts her right in front of the girl that just teleported on.

And she has a M249, and is highly paranoid. Do the math. She quickly tries to set her sights on the girl.

Thought one: GUN! Shield it!

Thought two: Gun is automatic! Shield blocks only one bullet!

Thought three: Move!

With another blink, she was on the hood of the vehicle. Still wearing the suction gear, she slammed her right hand onto the nearest surface, hoping to secure herself before the driver decided to throw her off or something.

Thought four: Not an auspicious start, this.

Both vehicles turn a corner, making a hard swerve as they do so. The moment they line up again, the detective presses another button, causing another hidden gun to pop out from the left side of the car and fire some sort of device which latches itself to the back of the pickup. The device activates and sends an electric current through the pickup for a brief moment that's just strong enough to stun those that don't have some sort of immunity to that.

Black Knight:   Grrrr...at least we're almost at the damn museum...   

The knight opens the compartment in the truck nearest to Ammy using his dark magic while his hands remain on the wheel. Inside the compartment was a grenade launcher.

   Can only open one compartment at the moment as I'm behind the wheel, so make do with that for now.   

She braces during the swerve, and ends up shocked by the pursuing detective's gadget. Her paranoia apparently did not extend to those kinds of weaponry.

When she recovers, it's well after the compartment containing the launcher opens. She quickly grabs it, and indiscriminately fires at the pursuing detective.

The girl cringes in pain as the electric shock courses through the vehicle. "Damn it, I'm still here!" she shouts ineffectually.

Adrien slumps to their knees, their invisibility spell fading away. "Fuck, that hurt..."

The girl spots Ammy aiming the grenade launcher at the heroes' vehicle. She raises her right hand and intones a spell. "Lunar Barrier!" A force field appears over the car, translucent for a moment before fading into invisibility. That should at least deflect the projectiles...

And they do deflect something...that something being most of the shrapnel from the grenades. A particularly large piece embeds itself in her firing arm, forcing her to drop the launcher. "Shit! Shrapnel hit my arm, can't do anything with it still in!"

Up ahead, one can see the museum about five blocks away. Even from this distance, one can see that the museum is on the small side as far as museums go, being only one floor. Just ahead was a railroad crossing, and at that moment the railroad lights went on was a train came through, blocking the way.

Thinking quickly, the knight notices one of those car carrier trailers that's parked near the train and is luckily empty and angled just right to use as a ramp, so he steps on the gas and zooms up the ramp and over the passing train to the other side, landing with jolting thump before continuing onwards. The detective follows suit as well.

The knight uses his dark magic again to open another compartment, this one containing a flamethrower.

Black Knight:   We're almost there... and I have an idea that'll get them off our tail for a moment, though you might want to remain seated in the vehicle for that.

The girl barely manages to cling to the roof of the truck. WHY DID I THINK THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA. She blinks back into the pickup bed, swiftly grabbing the dropped grenade launcher and whirling around to face the villains —

— and as she comes to a stop, she sees the one person she thought she'd never see again. The shock causes her to drop the weapon, and it clatters off to the side of the road somewhere.

"Adrien?!"

Adrien's eyes widen in surprise. "Well, look at you. It's been a while." On the drive to our first mission. That was faster than I expected.

The girl blinks out of sight.

Ammy tries to remove the shrapnel without causing any more damage to herself.

She fails miserably, forcing her to quickly bandage it up and hope she doesn't end up bleeding out.

At the very least, she can still shoot with her other hand; it just won't be with any larger weapons, and it sure as hell won't be accurate.

She is notably surprised when the girl reveals a relation to Adrien. "...That was unexpected." Still, that doesn't stop her from drawing a M1911 and trying her best to keep the detective away, thanks to said girl throwing the launcher off.

The museum's entrance loomed straight ahead, with large glass panels on either side of the main doors that extended from the floor to the ceiling.

Black Knight:   Hold on to something!   

The truck speeds up and smashes through the glass panel on the right, scattering glass everywhere. It was at that moment the truck's radio switched to a new song. Luckily, the hallways were just big enough to drive through.

Just inside the museum entrance to the left was the gift shop. Black Knight rolled down his window and used his dark magic to levitate the gift shop's cash register into the truck as he drives by.

Meanwhile the detective stops the car for a moment.

Det. GC: I'm not driving in there, I'd be no better than they are if I did that. Those that can use their powers to keep up with them can go after them on foot, I'll drive around the museum perimeter as I wait for them to drive back out.

Adrien waited a moment for the rain of glass to subside before standing up and brushing themself off nonchalantly. "If I still know her, she's not gonna have the nerve to leave her apartment for at least a day," they said. "Which means we have a moment to patch this up properly," they added, and knelt down next to Ammy to inspect her wound.

"'Properly' here meaning 'with magic', of course."

Understanding GC's desire not to drive into the museum Shade looks around for any shadows close to the building.Eventually he settles for the one left by the car. After lying down and touching the shadow under it. Suddenly the scene where he first showed plays in reverse more or less as he fitst turns into a shadow himself and then disappears.

After recovering from the electric shock the teen decides to play it safe and transform, so that he won't be forced to do it while in battle. At first he wants to go his fire-breathing form, but he quickly decides against it, not wanting to accidentally burn the museum down. Instead he simply transforms both his arms.

"WHAT THE FUCK?!?!" She's clearly surprised by the Black Knight's decision to just completely ignore any form of stealth.

"Now what do we do? If these guys are up to snuff, they'll have backups on site, and just shutting down the power won't do it; we'll have to wipe the footage manually! Jesus fuck, I did not sign up for this!"

The Black Dragon came to a crossroads. Ahead was a hallway to the center of the museum, and in said center was a giant two-story sculpture underneath the glass dome in the center. The sculpture shined golden and was a segmented serpent-like creature of some kind, coiled up as if it were sleeping, with the head no where in sight. A sign near the crossroad pointed in the direction of the sculpture, reading "Come see our most popular exhibit: The Golden Darkworm!"

Also nearby was a donation box, which Black Knight used his dark magic again to levitate it inside the Black Dragon.

Black Knight:   That sculpture ahead is interesting, but we'll check that for last once we've checked everything else.   

He then starts moving the vehicle to the hallway to the right.

She notes the giant structure, and the sign it has. She also notes the lack of security guards.

"I'm sure you're seeing this, but...I don't see any more guys. I know we just came storming through the front fucking door, but...this is just weird."

As the detective drives along the perimeter of the museum, he spots a police car nearby and stops alongside the car, flashing his own badge. The officer inside grinned.

Officer: Well if it isn't the famed Detective Gamechanger! I've heard tales of some of your cases.

Det. GC: Glad to see a fan. So, mind telling me why no alarms are going off when those crooks drive their vehicle into the museum?

Officer: Oh, a silent alarm did go off, which should've awoken the state of the art security A.I. by now. From what I've heard about this type of security system it's built to take on those with powers thanks to the rise of those over the years. Sadly, some of the guards got laid off due to this. Though how advanced this type of security system is varies depending on the budget of the client I think.

Meanwhile back inside the museum, the Black Dragon bumped into a pedestal as it drives along, thus knocking over an ancient-looking ceramic figure which promptly shatters upon hitting the floor.

Black Knight:   Oops! Oh well, probably wasn't worth stealing anyways.   

She's still unnerved by the effectively complete lack of security guards, and remains on guard.

"Sheesh, be careful, would ya? That could've been worth thousands of dollars." Adrien inspects the shattered shards of the ceramic whatever. "Maybe."
