Somehow dumber than I thought it would be. Definitely going for that Princess Principal feel, but techno instead of steampunk. Not bad, but going the more lighthearted route compared to PP didn't quite click with me, even though it may be better to go the silly route. Either way, ninja techno spy girls is worth a couple more episodes at least.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences. You can say it's more set in modern world rather than steampunky feel. Anyways Episode 1:
So, our main character here is called Momo and its based on her perspective. I like the design of the characters. And man the ending though.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."I only know of this show because the Voice Actress for Momo, Yukari Anzai, was on an episode of imagine-nation as a special guest. As for the show itself, it seems interesting.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Whats an imagine-nation btw?
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."It's obviously going for the silly route, but I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Also given my preferences this really appeals to me, so I'm probably biased.
Also there's a very good chance that I'm wrong but given that it's from Takahiro who was the main writer of YuYuYu, I have a feeling that it's gonna get dark at some point.
Fight for something, even if its meaningless. It's cool. I also like lighthearted tone too btw. And if you ask me about Takahiro... He's the same guy who create AGK! (Akame Ga Kill!)
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."imagine-nation is a Live-Action show on NHK that focuses on the latest in the Japanese Entertainment Industry. I made a forum for it.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Makes sense. Thanks.
And btw, given that the creator of this show is the same guy who create AGK...I'm interested to see where this goes.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Watched the first episode. Heh, this one's gonna be spycy fun! Especially sincesomeone's already thinking of turning coat. I bet it's classified information.
Keen eyes, sharp nose and good taste. Darn, when it comes to super senses, Momo hit the jackpot! ...I wonder if black pepper would be a crippling weakness to her?
Gunslinger dude was very bombastic. Thank his mannerisms and his voice. A shame he won't be back for more.
do we have a page for it yet?
there's definitely a shoutout when Goe calling herself Goemon in the first few seconds
I dont think we had. Anyways, whats a Goemon?
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Goemon is the swordsman in Lupin III

Makes sense thanks.
Anyways, anyone wanted to make a trope page for this show?
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Ishikawa Goemon was basically the Japanese Robin Hood. All of the code names were taken from legendary figures
2. So it just takes two months to become a trained ninja. I gotta get in on that program. Just some conventional training and character beats with a few behind the story bits. Nothing too exciting, but still enjoyable for now.

Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.Episode 2:
This episode is mostly focuses on the training which is fine in my opinion as Momoka still a novice that needs to learn and it took two months to pass...Okay. Also, there are some new information regarding the city used to become a center of trading. And meanwhile, the villain is up to something regarding the traitor.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."This series seems to exist somewhere between a serious spy drama, and just total campy silliness. I love it, it's amazing. Especially how they get powers from spices, like it was goddamn Dune or something. Oh and the fact that there might be a traitor gives everything a nice additional dimension.
About the traitor— Given the writer, it's probably not a cop-out and is in fact one of the main girls. Our main hint is that "they're tired of working for Tsukikage". Narratively we can expect it to be someone close to Momo for maximum emotional impact. Soooooooo, like 70% odds of it being Hanzo, at which point the question becomes "why?". I suspect it's not as simple as being a turncoat or a double agent. Possibly an attempt to deal with some of Tsukikage's dirty laundry?

I'm guessing there won't be a trope page for this
There's a prequel LN about how Hanzo being a trainee and how she got her scar, maybe there are some clues there.
Coincidentally... I finished Princess Principal anime and I sort of agree on why this anime gaves PP vibes. As for the traitor though... That would be interesting to figure out. And I wonder if the writer redeems them or not as given this is from the same author as Akame Ga Kill we're talking about... That would be interesting.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."I started a trope page: Release the Spyce. Contributions welcome!
Possibly gotta add some images regarding it. Anyways, Episode 3:
Today's episode: The spies now investigating a brothel about the drugs that got smuggled by Moryo while at the first scene of the episode, Momo got imprisoned by a Ramen shop guy who uses drugs in his ramens. Also, Momo tries at her best to impress her mentor and speaking of which, we are now introduced by a new character: A strong Loli from China who challenge the spies and got her memories erased after she experiencing fear after eating a gelatin gave by her boss. Also, seems that Moryo doesn't care about the robots and just care about the drugs so yeah...
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."3. Proper action spy shenanigans with Momo learning how to screw up and learn from her mistakes. Decent escalation all around, so still entertaining enough.

Alright, anyone hyped for this anime? And if you don't know what Release the SPYCE is, here's a simple description:
"It follows Minamoto Momo, a girl who attends high school in the city of Sorasaki. She’s also a member of the secret organization Tsukikage, an intelligence agency which protects the peace of the city. As a new member, she works alongside her sempai Hanzoumon Yuki (Numakura Manami) and others to defeat the criminal organization known as Mohryou, which currently holds the city in its evil grasp."
A spy anime made from the same mind of Akame Ga Kill and Yuuki Yuuna is a Hero original author? I'm in! And a spy with a cute girls also a plus for me too. Anyone hyped for this anime or not?
