The descriptions and causes for Angst Aversion and Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy sound similar, considering the former's entry in YMMV.Avengers Infinity War. And why is Angst Aversion marked as an Example Sectionectomy?

Angst Aversion is a personal reaction, and listing it is pointless. It's just about when people don't want to watch tragedies or other depressing stories. It doesn't even have to be particularly dark; just that someone wants only warm and fuzzy feelings from stories.

Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy is when the audience just doesn't care about the story because everything is too dark. It could be because all relevant sides are evil and it doesn't really matter who wins, because it all suck anyway. It could be because there's just no hope at all for the protagonists, so it's hard to care when it's pointless anyway.

They can overlap, but the latter is when that's the general reaction of the audience, and it requires the story to be set up in one of those ways.
