Honkai Impact 3rd

In one comic (Anti-Entropy Invasion, was it?), there's a flashback in which young Kiana doesn't seem to know her own identity until some years later when Siegfried decided to call her "Kiana". So there's definitely a case of amnesia here.

11-EX actually alludes to this: HOV, inside Kiana's mind, says "I am you, Kiana!"

All this makes me even more convinced that she's a sendoff to Noel Vermillion.

And I got the feeling that the original Kiana may end up becoming the new 14th Herrscher.

From my research and my friend's notes, this feels kind of tricky because well... You could argue that both Sirin and the Herrscher are separate entities altogether while also sharing their memories. You could also theorize however, that Kiana herself is actually the real Sirin

Just as Mei has 2 separate consciousness, the normal her and her Herrscher self.

That's just common to all Herrschers except for the 1st one

Let's just say Herrscher are pretty much interesting being to study. Like, I'll admit that I have my own words regarding Void herself and her being interesting to study but I'll save that for later.

Funnily enough, this means that nearly every human that became a Herrscher in the modern age so far have been convinced in some way to stop killing the human race.

Welt went full hero thanks to the other founders of Anti-Entropy, Sirin's human side decided she just wants to be normal thanks to Cecilia, and Mei reverted back to normal thanks to Kiana's relentless feelings towards her with her Herrscher side now mostly in it for the ride due to her developing interest in Kiana. Wendy's the only exception since Cocolia happened before she had her chance.

The Previous age may be better at killing Herrschers, but the modern age is proving to be better at converting them

And lets not forget Bronya was good from the get go.

that's the thing about 1st Herrscher though - they aren't influenced by the Honkai's will unlike the others for some reason.

Have you guys seen the comics by Bkub and this guy? It's sad that nobody translated them (yet)...

This didn't get any responses on the discussion page for the Shout-Out page so: Has it ever been mentioned by anyone outside the wiki how much the spheres of Honkai energy inside the Honkai beasts and mechs are reminiscent of the Cores of the Angels in Neon Genesis Evangelion?

Since its China, im sure they are Evangelion reference. Like how Roza is just Fates Elizabeth Bathory.

I don't see any spheres there.

The only place I saw something like that is in Quantum Honkai Beasts.

You've seriously never noticed them? If not, I'll try to get some screencaps, GIS didn't turn up anything, to my surprise.

I don't know. On one hand, glowing orbs of power are a very common design choice in games and anime

On the other hand, this is Honkai Impact 3rd we're talking about and miHoYo has always been transparent about their Eva references. The Honkai Beasts already have the color scheme of the Mass Production Evas, so I won't be surprised if the cores were based on the ones from Eva.

I was wondering how something in Honkai Impact 3rd could qualify for a Complete Monster since every villain that could meet the heinous action criteria has a sympathetic background (Otto, Sirin) or has redeemable qualities (Cocolia)

I admit I forgot about the First Overseer from Schicksal. Yeah, the guy we saw in Kallen's backstory was a nasty human being and showed that Otto's utter disregard for human life did not come from nowhere.

That said, I don't think the Herrscher of Erosion counts.

Both the manga and the game's Chapter 12 were pretty clear that it wasn't doing anything when it was dormant in its host, and only went all out in killing humanity after the remnants of humanity imprisoned her (due to having high Honkai levels) then murdered her out of fear. Later, either Theresa (in the manga) or Yae (in Sakura Samsara) made it finally let go of its hatred and revenge which is why we now have the Jizo Mitama.

That, and I'm sure the 12th Herrscher and Higo are one and the same, Split Personality style, like most Herrschers.

I was finally able to get the screencaps I took off my phone. The spheres aren't there all the time...I think they appear when the mechs and beasts take a certain amount of damage.

No, we haven't seen him in the game yet. It's mostly the comics.

(And I don't know which one; from the few comics I've read, none of them showed the guy in detail...)

The Overseer is Otto Apocalypse's father, and he appears in Kallen's backstory comic, along with a passing mention on the Honkai Chronicles lore video.
