We can go deeper. Where's Deadpool?
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?INB 4 we also see Disney Inifinity toys
Please let this mean Sora will get into Dissidia NT as a cross promotion
x2 I feel like that won't happen since the series got discontinued.
That shop might be full of other references, though.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?...I could be wrong, but someone wrote somewhere that the doll looks a little bit like Skuld.
I don't know if I can tell.
Why are they promoting some weird franchise that has nothing to do with Kingdom Hearts?
Cloud is in it.
And Squall.
And Moogles, kupo.
(2) Dissidia is the Final Fantasy equivalent of Super Smash Bros. I'm surprised it took them this long.
Nomura I swear to god if you screw me with this and try to segue into Kingdom Hearts Xth Dimension Aqua there will be no place on Earth safe enough for you.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!You're acting like this is anything all that surprising. We've known KH 3 wasn't going to be the last game in the series for years now and that the Xehanort storyline was just the first story they'd planned. KH 1 and KH 2 could have been the end of the story but both had secret ending movies hinting at continuations so I wouldn't be surprised if 3 was the same or had something similar, judging from what Nomura's said.
I'm indifferent, since I stopped caring about the plot or taking it all that seriously a long time ago.

-continues threatening Nomura with angry words and threats of divine retribution-
At the very least end Sora's story. If this game ends with Sora and Kairi Namine sipping martinis on Destiny Islands, while Riku goes off to become a Pokemon Master in the Unova Region with Mickey which leads to some crazy adventures in space fighting Rabbit Goddess Xehanort in some far-flung future war...
Then so be it. Let Kingdom Hearts X: The Search for More Money continue.
But I've been blue-balled by this franchise for too long to accept anything less than Sora Roxas and Kairi Namine being happy.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I, for one, welcome our convoluted plot overlords.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I don't remember if they said Sora would remain the protagonist or not, but I don't see much reason for them to ditch him either. From their perspective, why try to fix what ain't broke?
Because Roxas exists and he's the best.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Well if Sora doesn't grow as a person in 3 then having him be the relentlessly optimistic keyblade bearer for x number of games is going to get stale.
Riku, meanwhile, is kind of the third wheel. He's been the guy whose been going off on epic adventures off-camera. He's the guy who actually passed his test. Heck, Riku is the one who wanted to leave. My limited knowledge of Dream Drop Distance and Birth by Sleep aside, Riku is arguably the reason this whole adventure began.
Sora's primary stake in all of this, prior to D3, was finding his friends. Riku was the one who wanted to explore. Making him the protagonist kind of makes sense.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I agree with you but that assumes that the people working on these games are good writers with sense, which I think has been shown to not be the case for the most part. From a marketing and player perspective, Sora is popular with japanese players so there's no real reason to get rid of him.
The problem with this is that Riku's character doesn't have anywhere interesting to go either. His whole character arc is pretty much over now and there's not much else they can do with him.
The thing that makes the most sense if you want to avoid things being stale is wiping the slate clean and having a new cast of main characters. Which I don't think is super implausible but I don't think they're going to do that.

What about Kairi? She (and Lea) does have room to grow and potential for the writers to take advantage of if they wanted.
Sora has only been the "relentlessly optimistic key bearer" for one game and that game was Dream Drop Distance. That aspect of his character was all but non-existent before then.
Sorta like the Emo Teen Cloud characterization. A result of exaggerating a trait that only is made apparent in relationship with other characters at best and completely non-existence in the text at worse.

The thing is though that's more or less what Square decided to do after VII. I wouldn't call it "emo teen" but every game after vii (with the possible exception of crisis core which i hear is more faithful) portrays him as this incredibly bland, dour too-cool-for-school figure which is only remotely faithful to Cloud for like the first hour of VII at most. In fact one of KH's biggest sins in my opinion is continuing to perpetuate that with its incarnation of Cloud, as well as making Sephiroth some Cloud-obsessed weirdo who spews a bunch of meaningless nonsense, which makes him impossible to take seriously. It was only when I played VII for myself and saw that his original incarnation was an incredibly unhinged and creepy mass murderer that I understood why he became popular to begin with.

So is Pocahontas the only Disney Renaissance movie not yet featured in KH?
EDIT: That seems more apt for the general. Anyway, with the focus on "two world heroes", you think Zootopia has a chance?

I kinda excuse Sephiroth there as being part of a Disney influenced property might force Lighter and Softer elements (and that II was made before the envelope was pushed with Gravity Falls and to an extent, KH games post-II).
And I fully admit that the "teen" part applied to Cloud is a bit of a misnomer.

In Sora's case, he wasn't even originally "relentlessly optimistic" in relation to other characters. Remember how when he first met Donald and Goofy he had to force himself to smile and be happy; and then later earnestly questioned them how they could stay optimistic even though they'd found no sign of their King? It's pretty much the direct opposite of how Sora's characterized in DDD, even though that game has the gall to indicate he's always been so Pollyanna-ish.
I do wonder, aside from the returning Hercules, are there any older, traditionally animated Disney films represented as worlds in KHIII? So far, most of the confirmed worlds seem to be relatively new CGI movies.

Regarding Pochahontus, the Rescuers Down Under is also absent (and I'd rather that get in over the former TBH)
for the more relevant question, I would say Zootopia has a good shot, Only Sora would need a redesign in this scenario. But it does depend on what the cutoff point is, of they they're willing to allow DLC worlds, as it seems to be very recent.
In Co M he also starts to lose it, mouths off at Donald and Goofy and goes off on his own because he's getting obsessed with finding Naminé.
I don't think the scenes were well-handled or written but in KH 2 he also broke down multiple times.
So yeah, it's fair to say he's a generally optimistic character but that aspect in particular appears to have been flanderized in 3D.
There was point when things became too meta. We've passed it.◊
This song needs more love.
