An animated series from Vivienne Medrano, it follows the escapades of the princess of Hell as she tries to curb hell's overpopulation by creating the titular hotel to redeem souls and get them into heaven.

Oh, I missed that part, never mind.
Optimism is a duty.Sounds about right, yeah.
Well, the end-goal is to solve the overpopulation...a crisis which Doom Slayer is very well suited for.
Yup.
God, Doom Slayer has to be in this series. Of course, not THE Doom Slayer, both for copyright and narrative issue, but someone who resembles him, in that s/he's a being that is burning with hatred for demons and on a bloody quest against them.
S/he could be either an ally who considers the Hotel an acceptable alternative method for getting rid of demons, or an antagonist who seeks to destroy the hotel and kill all the inhabitants & staffs.
If not, just an allusion to him will be enough too. XD
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. That's already what the Angels do in-universe.
It's been fun.Yeah, but they are more like the pest control.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Nah, Doom Slayer's sole purpose is to make sure Hell doesn't invade Earth. That would put him at odds with Charlie in a way, since she'd have to try extra hard to convince him that her plan to redeem Demons isn't really a front for an invasion.
Disgusted, but not surprisedEven if Charlie's plan bypasses Earth entirely and expressly aims for Heaven?
I hope Charlie's desire to redeem everyone is on the level and she doesn't ahve a secret selfish motivation for doing it so it can blow up in her face so she can learn some bullshit lesson about sincerity.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.I am worried Heaven doesn't take notice or feel "insulted" by what Charlie is doing. A demon, born in Hell, child of Lucifer, attempting to redeem demons?
If she shows any sign of progress that doesn't go backwards, you bet they're gonna do something about it.
Of course, they might fully endorse her cause, who knows.
If Vaggie isn't (or used to be) one herself, I have a feeling that there will be an Exterminator Angel character Charlie has to face in the future.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Assuming we're not going full 'God and Satan Are Both Jerks' here, then realistically heaven should be all for redeeming sinners. I'm not 100% sure we're not going with that interpretation, given the whole 'angels commit genocide every year' thing.
I think it's pretty clear Heaven here is going with "sinners are irredeemable and can be killed at will".
This is superficially Christian theology, but it seems to go only skin deep. What passes for heaven seems to be a pretty nasty lot.

Optimism is a duty. The Hell IS Heaven all along.

I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Dunno call me idealistic but I'm not sure Heaven would really mind getting a major yearly event off its tasklist.
Mind, we only saw exterminator angels, so there may be a chance that not all angels are exterminators.
I think Viv has stated that the afterlife system in this universe takes elements from different religions (for example Lucifer and Satan are two different individuals) it's just that the Judaio-Christian elements are most prominent to us.
Doesn't Alastor have something (not Hollywood) Voodoo thing going for him? Like the symbols when he goes into scary mode.
...
I still hope there's a viking who was supposed to end up in Helheim but ended up in this particular Hell by mistake. It's something I've had on my mind for months now no particular reason, just because
I don't really think there is any way to reconcile angelic death squads with the Biblical idea of a loving and merciful god. This would be Old Testament god at best.
Optimism is a duty.Alastor was stated at a couple points to have hands in voodoo so it's possibly that's partially were his powers come from.
It would interesting if Baron Samedi exists in this universe.

If he is I don't think he would necessarily be in Hell.
He's a God of Death but a pretty party God.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Thats what I mean though, he's a party type so I imagine he'd get along with the less murdery demons.
Okay, so...Edward Bosco, who voices Alastor, also lent his voice to the Marauder in Doom Eternal
I knew the name sounded familiar
@Redmess: I mean, the idea of Hell doesn't gel with a loving and merciful God. Not to get theological in here, but it is part of the setting, so...
I know the most common portrayal is essentially Dante's self-insert tour through his own homebrew Christian afterlife, but it's a commonly agreed-upon idea that Hell is a place of eternal suffering. Hell, apparently most non-Catholic Christian faiths explicitly say the idea of any sort of Purgatory (where you can atone for your sins) is heretical. If you go to Hell, you are damned, for eternity. There's no getting better, no coming back. Just suffering, forever. Getting killed by exterminator angels is only a problem because it seems like the inmates are running the asylum and have converted Hell into their afterlife playgrounds, where they can leverage making others suffer into their own power bases.

It's been fun.Book of Revelation describes a lake of fire in Hell, but aside from that there aren't that many details.
The Bible was pretty minimalist when it came to describing Hell. It's pretty much just a place where you burn forever.

Disgusted, but not surprisedPretty simple there.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Yeah, the Bible (at least, the one that is used by the Protestants; can't say about Catholics and other Christian or Jewish denomination) really skimps in details when it comes to Hell.
The only consistent descriptions are:
- There's fire.
- It's dark.
- People gonna be weeping and gnashing their teeth (Bible's oddly specific in that description)
- And it's a place cut off from God.
That's really about it.
Compared to a lot of underworlds and hell (with small letter h) in other myths and religion, it isn't even that horrible.

He did vow to stay in hell at the end of Doom 64 to make sure no demon ever rises again.
There are few crossover fanfics with Doom but most are bleh. One I like and think is good I'm reading is called The Wanderers and Hunters of Hell (and Ricky) which is less about Hazbin Hotel and more like a multi-way crossover with Doom, Trailer Park Boys, Helluva Boss , SCP Foundation and Everyman HYBRID
Doomguy. Pairs up. With. Ricky. And. I.M.P . It is so fucking improbable the author somehow made it work. If Doomguy found out what I.M.P.'s profession is he'd murder them on the spot, so they're keeping that fact quiet.
He is constantly driven by the urge to kill demons as he's surrounded by them in HH's Hell but restrains himself. He kills some here and there but has some serious self-control.
