Well, I think it might have been less problematic than it could have been?

Mind you, it still sticks its toes into depictions of trans people that I wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole.

One thing that helps is that the whole cannibalism thing is always explained as being about supposedly granted youth, not femininity. So there doesn't seem to be anything linking their villainy with them being trans.

The setup for this episode is really odd. An inn that's set up like a maze with hidden passages and trap doors? The stair case especially for some reason made me think of scooby doo.

I suppose that’s true, but I still think we’re going to some uncomfortable places.

I mean last week we had a man who was sexually aroused by murder (including his own death) and had a crush on Sugimoto.

Ienaga also wants to be an ideal human. Beautiful like a woman, and strong like a man. So her targets were of both genders.

So, I just starting watching Golden Kamuy today. I finished watching episode 1. Overall, I thought it was a good episode. Sugimoto and Asirpa seem like interesting characters and I like learning about Ainu culture. The premise seems pretty good as well. The one thing I didn't like was the CGI for the bears. Man, the CGI for the bears looks like shit. Why they couldn't they have used better CGI or hand drawn the bears? Besides that, I liked the episode. I'll keep watching.

I disliked the CGI as well, and started reading the manga instead.

The bad CG stops after the episode at least. And still looked more Appealing than Berserk Bad CG

Another season is coming this Fall.

I learned about that on Reddit. I'll probably watch the second season after I'm done with the first season.

I just finished watching episode three a few minutes ago. That was a really great episode. The action was awesome and I really thought the comedy was on point. It was also cool to learn more about the Ainu. I already knew about them from shaman King, but it's cool to get more info about them. Overall, I have to say that I'm liking the show so far.

I just finished Golden Kamuy. It was a really great show with interesting characters and a good blend of action and comedy. I am eagerly awaiting season 2.

Second Seasons great. Looks like theyll be altering the OP as the show goes on too.

Just finished episode 1 after being sent here by Fate Grand Order's latest event. This is a really cool premise, and rather grisly. Definitely wasn't expecting the map-made-of-human-skin part.

I stopped by for the episode that introduced the taxidermist because I saw a screenshot and wondered "are they going full Clive Barker ?" and the answer was, yes, yes they are.

Okay, just got to episode 17, and can this show fuck off with every single plan, coincidence, and lucky break falling directly into Tsurumi's hands already?

Oooof, that dialogue between Asirpa and Sugimoto last episode. I always love when we get to take a look deeper into the man.

All this MA Nservice the past two episodes.

I saw the infamous sumo episode.

Which is followed by all the men being naked nearly an entire episode while fighting.

Asirpa even ends up grabbing Sugimotos butt cheeks and Shiraiashis face is used to cover his hole.
