It makes sense for it to only have a short amount of time pass because they're still processing what's happened but Webcomic Time makes it a bit surprising to see it all laid out like that.

When it's put in perspective like that, Undine has been dealing with witnessing the deaths of her friends remarkably well.
In fact, Tessa might be feeling a bit bitter about that.
I've gotten the impression that Tessa isn't entirely sure how she feels herself. She's the one who told Undine to team up with people, but now she has and Tessa knows she should be glad but isn't.
The cliché would be Tessa feeling dejected that Undine moved on this fast, even if it was Tessa herself who spurred Undine on to find a partner. Of course, she would also be angry at herself for feeling angry about that.
That said, Mary usually plays around with these tropes, so I'm curious to see what this chapter tells us about Tessa's feelings.

Maybe in a "This is fine." kind of way.

Rue has a look to her today.

Seriously Sall-I mean Rue! Last time.
Hm. So Tess is apllying to Rue the behaviours she wished she had with the others. Wonder if it's a healthy thing for her to do, considering the whole thing with Undine and Gloops.
She lost her best friends in a dramatic accident less than a week ago. I think she's being a champ.
She is.
What I'm concerned about is the possibility that she's putting up an unhealthy front, either as a coping mechanism or as a reaction to whatever influence Goops is having over her.
Consider what we've seen. She's having nightmares, problems with sleep, and isn't eating right, all of which is either caused or aggravated by Goops. She's also ever so slightly bothered in some manner by Undine's recovery speed, which is definitely being messed with by Goops. Lastly, she's constantly dealing with Rue, someone who we've seen her equate with her former teammembers, which makes me worry that she's seeing her as a Replacement Goldfish in an unhealthy manner.
Basically, I'm Alternative Character Interpretation-ing her current actions, because I think Goops is messing with Tess' head enough that it's going to be a real problem.
Even if Goops isn't messing with her, it will likely turn out that she will have to re-adapt to her new life a few times as she (hopefully) recovers, right?
Yeah, but this is fiction. Rule of Drama is more likely to apply than not.
Why do I get the feeling that Goops is trying to lure Tessa outside at night?

Some great expressions this page.
That is exactly the face you make in that situation
It's nice to see she's integrating.
To be fair, she's probably not wrong about the mashed potatoes.
My posts make considerably more sense read in the voice of John Ratzenberger. What kind of self respecting anime inspired student council isn’t nigh omnipotent?
Geez, get off your butts and overthrow the principle

Throw out your principles, overthrow the principal
Forever liveblogging the AvengersZoe's eyes give her a really cryptic vibe. It's an interesting effect.
Ok, so maybe she's not integrating all that well.
Also, this was slightly late because of ECCC. Schedule should be back to normal last week, but the next comic might still be a bit late.
It's still better than Kiwi Blitz, though. That one hasn't updated for this week yet.
I should read Kiwi Blitz sometime.
New comic: Milk is my favorite brand of Milk
