OG RE 2 or the remake?
It's difficult, but if it's the original, try getting to the police station without picking anything up. Not even the Crossbow/Shotgun (you'll get another one later.)
I only picked up handgun bullets.
Where there's life, there's hope.I still can't believe RE 3 is coming the next year after RE 2.
I wonder if the direction is going to be milking the hell out of nostalgia & just focusing on remaking the series/franchise.
It would run out of steam since RE 4 is already available on current gen consoles, and while 3 has the advantage of being in the same general location as 2 that's not shared by the other games.
Ah yes, RE4, a game so good that it killed its franchise's original genre, or so I heard.
Where there's life, there's hope.To be fair the survival horror genre had run stale at that point, 4 was a welcome breath of fresh air and ideas for the franchise.
> Ah yes, RE 4, a game so good that it killed its franchise's original genre, or so I heard.
It didn't exactly kill the genre but it was an evolution, things like reaction buttons quickly became widely copied gimmick in the other games,I would say it was the best resident evil game to date, games after it had hard time doing the same thing but better
New theme music also a boxIt definitely murdered the fixed camera.
Where there's life, there's hope.Fixed cameras needed to die. Horrible, horrible things. Malicious, too.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"It came back with a bit of a weird halfassed vengeance in Lost in Nightmares but yeah I can't say I miss it. It was a necessity with all the original detailed still picture backgrounds but now we have 3D environs that are more detailed than those pictures so its basically a hindrance. Mods would only add it in for novelty sake.
I mean, if they REALLY wanted to, they could take RE4's everything and overhaul the whole thing into 4K Ultra HD or whatever and have REmake2!Leon and Ada's voice actors do new lines and maybe find new VAs for the President's daughter, the buff guy, and the midget Napoleon...
...but that'd be a waste of money if the original RE4 is already in the market, isn't it?
I reckon that after RE3, if it isn't a hypothetical remake to Dino Crisis, then we might really get RE8 next. Maybe.
There’s still Resident Evil – Code: Veronica.
The original Resi 4 is just fine. And portable now, too.
Also there's....snrrk....Resi Evil survivor? :3c
Yeah I don't see how a remake of RE 4 would even work. The gameplay alone still holds up, so what's there to revamp besides graphics?
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.REmake Progress
The flamethrower was only good for killing Black Tiger, which saved me... 2 magnum bullets. Not a substitute for the grenade launcher at all.
I have killed every Hunter standing in my way with 2 dozen shotgun shells left. The Hunters recover from knockback faster than Chris can pump his shotgun, which makes fighting a Hunter duo a pain.
RE2 Progress
I don't even bother fighting the Licker. I finally obtained the shotgun. This should make Zerg Rush easier to handle. Despite the graphical limitations, the zombie arms breaking through windows frightened me.

Where there's life, there's hope.I would just love to see a RE 4 that has more colors then just grey and brown.
You'll be swimming in shells fairly soon. Free tip, once you have about 21 to 27 shells, put the handgun away forever. Even with the VP 70's custom parts you'll soon get custom parts for the shotgun that make it comically powerful.
I just realize that on the original game we go to the RPD just to pick a Lockpick to unlock a alley gate,1999 game design was wild.
Master of Unlocking and master of forgetting her lockpicks.
Where there's life, there's hope.Jill get the lockpick: Metroid upgrade theme plays.
Why the heck did Barry have it anyway
I beat Chris' campaign in 7 hours. Here's some thoughts about difficulties.
Chris' Early Game Hell is the entirety Mansion 1. There isn't a lot of space to pick up ammo, and he has to ration shotgun shells on the dogs and the zombies blocking his way. I just tanked a lot of hits as Chris.
Jill's Early Game Hell is before she acquire the Assault Shotgun. Once she does, she has 10 extra shotgun shells and a high crit weapon to blast through zombies. She also requires much less back-and-forth to get the regular shotgun.
The Residence is mostly the same with both characters. It's very easy with both characters because very few zombies block your way and the spiders can be downed with handguns. The only difference is Jill can one-shot Plant 42.
Mansion 2 and beyond are mostly the same. Fairly easy. Chris and Jill both have enough Magnum ammo and shotgun shells to destroy any zombie, chimera, and Tyrant standing in their way. Chris' main disadvantage is that he cannot one-shot Hunters, but they disappear once the two reach the lab.
Chris' limited inventory isn't much of a difficulty issue since I am aware of which key item is needed and Chris' personal item sees more uses than Jill's, but he certainly requires more trips to item boxes.

Where there's life, there's hope.I am practically almost done with R E2make (just entered NEST) but I honestly didn't have a problem with Mr X spying/chasing on me. Was he different in Hard?
I have begun RE2. Early Game Hell is very real here. Zombies are extremely numerous and the wonky camera makes depth perception very difficult. I died so many times before reaching the typewriter.
