Well, RE 5 and 6 tried to be as serious as can be., And was hur tby it.

At least RE 4 sort of embraced the camp with its protagonist. RE 4 Leon is best Leon and I hate that Capcom doesn't get that and have been trying to make him Chris 2.

It looks like the 30 minute demo'll be out on all formats.

Maybe, but you're vastly underselling each game's atmosphere/horror elements. To say it's "not serious" sounds rather dishonest. Resident Evil isn't seen as the pioneer of survival for nothing.

It tried to be really grim and serious with Resident Evil 1, but that game was so terribly written it became a benchmark of B-Movie camp in video games, whereupon Capcom just rolled with it in every good game in the series.

Like Resident Evil Revelations 2 is really bloody, gory, visually dismal and rusted out. It's also a game where Barry Burton patches his family back together with the power of love and we get two fan pleasing callbacks to his most beloved lines from the first game. Camp is integral to Resident Evil.

They're horror games but they're B-movie horror games.

They embrace the camp by playing it dead serious.

Yeah while camp is part of the charm, the dreaded atmosphere is also too, while RE 4 ramp up the charm it also did a determinent in future installment because there wasnt any way to take up seriously and the gameplay feel more like action game than survival game.

Even 7 has a lot of goofy comedy, a chainsaw duel, and an old man powerbombing his younger mutant brother.

Well, I got what I asked for.

And it was awesome.

The chainsaw duel was the best part of 7. Jack's part in 7 overall is the peak of the game imo.

Just finished the One Shot demo (I'm uploading it to my You Tube channel now if anyone's interested), and I have to say they did not cut corners on that gore budget. Good god they really did put some effort into that one.

Also the trailer at the end of it confirmed the one thing everyone was dying to know; the Tofu Survivor is in!

Would it make more sense to next concentrate on a RE 3 remake as a separate game, or make it a DLC Campaign to the remake of RE 2?

The demo's just part of the game itself's page for the record. Scroll up on the PS 4 until you find a demo.

Separate game without even a second hesitation. Given the amount of time and money that goes into making a full-fledged game there is no way to make a remake of 3 as DLC without drastically cutting back on it or charging the full price of a new game.

Apparently, if you really want it to, you can make the Resident Evil 2 remake look like a PS1 game!

At least on the PC version.

Making RE 3 into DLC doesn't make sense. Most of RE 3 is new content, there's only so many assets to re-use.

Has RE 2 remake release date change for anyone? On steam right now it say jan 24 instead of the 25.

So who do you guys think the RE characters would dress up as for Halloween?

Leon - Inspector Gadget. A well meaning but goofy law enforcer as Leon was in 2 and 4.

Chris - Captain America. They've met in Mv C and Chris is pretty much the Captain America of the RE universe.

Ada - Carmen Sandiego. Similar personalities and signature color.

Jill - Lara Croft. Video game action girls.

Helena Harper - Wonder Woman. Being both protective and ferocious women.
