Amity doesn’t go in for spider man logic
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWhile I hope Eda my have a throw down with Odalia, I'm hoping for Camila to be included with La Chancla.
Even have Eda saying that Mrs. Blight has no chance even if it's just against a weapon less Camila.
I find it interesting how Old House and Amphibia had to age down their characters from what they were in th initial plans, but Spongebob, who's much older in and out of universe, didn't. Like,he's a full grown adult, but still appeals to kids. He barely even engages the typical plots expected for kids.
It helps Spongebob is entirely different show with a different network, and thus an entirely different set of expectations,I don't think they're remotely comparable to be honest.
New theme music also a boxOwl House aged down their characters? Where did you hear that?
It's in the talk of the Beta designs. Originally, Dana intended for the Luz, Willow, and Amity to be around late high school to early college in age. Here's a link to a Q and A she had about it.[[https://twitter.com/omychan2/status/1352500474776313856?lang=en]
I mean they're both shows meant to appeal to kids. Even back then, most of Nickelodeon's shows were meant to appeal to the primary school going kids, yet here's Spongebob with an adult protagonist who's life mostly revolves around his other adult friends and going to his full time job. While Spongebob is pretty immature, the fact of the matter is that he's an adult character who managed to appeal to a young demographic, while Disney (who's after the same audience as Nickelodeon) doesn't seem all that tolerant of main characters that are a little bit more then half Spongebob and friends' ages.

I can't think of a modern nickelodeon cartoon starring an adult character, so it's probably more likely that Spongebob is just grandfathered in because it aired at a time when adult protagonists were less of an issue.
Also he’s a sponge.
All that, plus he is a very childish adult. Heck, I remember when I was a kid, his childishness confused me to the point where me and my brother openly wondered how old Spongebob was supposed to be.
"Detecting trace amounts of mental activity. Possibly a dead weasel or a cartoon viewer"Even Spongebob had issues with the whole "kid's cartoons need kids as characters" thing. Nickelodeon wasn't initially on board with the idea of a character whose daily activities (going to work, living on his own, etc.) were things children couldn't relate to. All of their cartoons at the time starred children, so in that sense Spongebob represented a first for them. Specifically, they wanted the series to have a school setting, so it would be relatable to children. Stephen Hillenberg rejected this idea, saying that if he did that, then "it would be Hey Arnold underwater". Mrs. Puff's Boating School was created as a compromise, a way for the show to have school episodes but also an adult protagonist. So the mentality we see now, that cartoons aimed at children need a "child entry point" (to borrow the phrase used by Infinity Train creator Owen Dennis), goes back at least to the late 1990s.

You know, I have to admit whether Hexside was ever meant to be apart of the original plan much. It seems we won't be there all that much, especially since Amity,Willow, and Gus aren't even shown in their uniforms in the new intro compared to the first one.
I wonder, too, only because the witches seem pretty happy, if the original concept was Hell? And what's more, the first two episodes are appropriately horrific, then suddenly it kinda turns into a slightly darker version of Little Witch Academia.
My posts make considerably more sense read in the voice of John Ratzenberger.Hexside was the execs telling the show's creator "Hey,you know what this setting needs?A school for witches like in Harry Potter! You can make all sorts of references!"
And Danna is like "Fine, there's a school for witches under the Coven System, and also a choosy hat that eats people, happy now?"
New theme music also a boxIs that true, or a conjecture?
My posts make considerably more sense read in the voice of John Ratzenberger.Little bit of column A and B,there was definately executive meddling quite early on (I think Gus was the result?!)
New theme music also a box...I know I just said I agreed that Hexside was Executive Meddling, but I wonder - I don't think Amity was, since the creators had to fight for her. Where would she have come from if not Hexside?
My posts make considerably more sense read in the voice of John Ratzenberger. It's not that difficult to justify Amity, especially since she would have gotten an intro in 'Covention' either way. Her interactions with Luz would have been different but after her into episode I'm sure there would've been more episodes focusing on her becoming friends with Luz.
Hexside just made it apparent that's where most of the development of Lumity would be happening in S1.
A lot of early fandom speculation IIRC assumed Lilith was more involved in teaching her than she actually was.
So I could see that being a route they could have gone.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobSource for the Amity thing cause this is the first time I'm seeing it and that kinda runs into a odd point.
Now we know how he got those scars.
Also, MoringMark apparently post stuff exclusive to Reddit.

Ah, that would explain how some YouTube-videos have MoringMark-comics that don't appear in his Tumblr-account.
I assure you, I'm a completely trustworthy person.I didn’t not expect that to be how that comic went but I should have
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAt this point its wonder he's not been officially commissioned by Disney for any projects
