For a second, Hei could only stare at Lucy bleeding body in horror. It was only when Alexa’s robot form appeared to check on her that Hei remembered to move.

With a look of murderous rage, Hei created a shield over Lucy’s form, protecting her from any more falling rubble. The rest of the shadows were gathered into a large mass and fired up towards the falling Debris. The shadow mass began to morph and form extension to catch the rubblble, almost resembling a Hydra.

While he would like nothing more than to make Elim suffer, Hei had other priorities at the moment. Namely making sure that Lucy was okay and nobody else gets hurt from the falling ceiling.

Privately, Hei admitted that it kind of sucked to be a hero sometimes.

After a short period of inactivity, Lucy's unconscious form began to twitch.

Gradually, her eyes cracked open, as if being slowly pulled apart, to reveal that they had rolled entirely to the back of her head, showing only her sclera.

Something black dribbled out of her nose. Then her mouth. Then her ears. Then her eyesockets...

These dribbles of ink began to increase in intensity as several tendrils formed outwards on her face, reaching towards the ceiling and pulling her body up with them like it was a marionette, her neck craned at an angle to look directly at the roof. Her mouth began to open even more, glassy eyes staring blankly at the ceiling.

Then, with a slight tremor, a colossal burst of ooze rocketed out from every one of her orifices, tearing through Hei's shadowy barrier and spraying those in close range. Gradually congealing and hardening, the ink began forming around the girl as a thick cocoon. The ink began to warp and stretch as any trace of Lucy's tiny form became lost, its vaguely humanoid shape gradually being replaced by a shifting mass of swelling bubbles and blindly flailing tendrils, grasping weakly at whatever came near. Ink was spread out across the floor in a thin puddle around the main mass, Lucy's unconscious body presumably in the centre of it all.

Her bag, which was now being flung around the room like it were possessed, was suddenly shredded as the ink jars inside finally broke free, rocketing towards the shifting pool of ink and slamming into it, smashing the glass pots and absorbing into the main mass.

It continued to grow, and as it did, they would become all too aware of the same presence Lucy had, deep within the shifting mass of ink. Something disgusting, vile and suppressed, its identity unknown.

In his distracted state, Hei took a step towards the ink-being surrounding Lucy.

Oliver grunted, and used the tree woman for support with standing up, thanking her in the process. He saw Lucy lying on the ground, surrounded by blood. He jolted to help her, by was stopped by a multitude of things: The hole in his stomach, Ever's grip, and the fact that Lucy was becoming an ink monster.

As Hei approached, a few of the dripping tendrils reared back and lashed out towards him at breakneck speed-

The tendrils paused a few feet from him, before slowly approaching again, this time wavering slightly like a cautious snake. One of the larger tendrils crept close to his face, as if studying him.

The tendrils steadily retreated back into the mass, a section on the other side of the amorphous ooze bubbing violently, before a large tendril the size of a support pillar burst out towards Elim, the chaotic presence in the center of the mass seeming to increase.

Sam could barely react to the bastard dropping the ceiling, Everything froze for a second.

Quite literally in fact, as a fair amount of things above him were frozen on the spot, managing to cover several students including Mikael, just about an inch from their faces.

"Close" He breathed. At least he hasn't frozen anyone solid yet. Looking around, he saw a monstrosity of ink where Lucy used to be. A bad feeling hit his gut.

"What?" He said without any air in his lungs. But his attention was brought to the ink monstrosity that Lucy became.

"I think it's a good time for anyone not in the fight to bolt out" He said as he surrounded the shadow loser in an ice wall trying to let them leave.

The groggy figure of Victoria passed through the doors, feet flopping almost drunkenly through the doorway. She was still in that dark hoodie, battered, dirty and dusty, reekikg slightly of sweat. As she looked up to see the commotion going on with her clouded eyes, she couldn't help but let out a sigh.

"What in the hell did you guys do this time? Yare yare...I'm tired."

She cracked her knuckles, running over to join them, fists raised. She was oddly limber and unstiff for someone who had had just woken up, as if she had been running recently.

"Why is it always the cafeteria where stuff like this goes down? Is it something in the food?"

As Ever stared at Lucy, memories of a time long gone swirled about her head. Oliver's words brought her back to the present.

"Right. Let's get you out of here."

As Ever brought Oliver closer to the door, a plethora of roots erupted from the ground and flipped the tables to provide cover from both Lucy and Emil. The roots wrapped about anything they could, holding the tables in place.

Elim grunted and groaned as Omega assaulted him with bullet after bullet, but all it seemed to do was annoy him more than anything else. Sam then surrounded him in a wall of ice, but it wasn't much of an obstacle. He faded into the shadows created by the wall and emerged in one of the cafeteria's corners, with only some scratches and bruises from all that had been thrown at him.

He then noticed Lucy, or rather the monster that had taken her place. Not that he could tell the difference. "Hell yeah! This is what we've been waiting for!" He slipped under the incoming tentacle and moved under the hordes of fleeing students, reverting into flesh and blood when he found some breathing room. He pushed back a long sleeve to reveal some sort of wrist-receiver and slammed it down hard with his index finger. "This is Darkheart! Phase 1's complete! Bring in the troops!"

As soon as he took his finger off the receiver, a horde of large, bulky robots appeared in the middle of the cafeteria in a flashing light. A smaller group came in shortly after, all flesh and blood and all being very distinct. Standing in front was a tall, muscular, middle-eastern woman in a catsuit. A small robot almost shaped like a crow floated next to her, beeping and booping in a manner very reminiscent of NAVI's.

She turned to her troops, pointing a long rifle at what used to be Lucy as she did so. "Look alive, people! That thing's there for one reason and one reason only; a distraction. While that abomination's keeping everyone busy, we do what we came here to do. Which in our case is make a statement. Mark my words. This shall be the Lethal Legion's finest hour!"

The robots and the troops then started to march towards the cafeteria's exit, and their target was obvious: the retreating students.

The girl turned to Elim, who was still grinning like he was having a field day. "Coming, Darkheart?"

"Nah, babe. This is just startin' to get good!"

"Suit yourself!" She followed her troops and the robots after the students, her rifle and the crow robot at the ready. As if things couldn't get any worse.

Hallway to the Nurses Office

Rebecca raced down the hallway, hoping she could get to the nurses' office in time. She turned the corner, hoping that her destination would be right around it. What she found instead was anything but.

"Greetings." Standing in her way was a tall and prim woman, dressed in a fine suit with heir hair tied in a neat little bun. She pushed back a pair of sharp-rimmed glasses, and her eyes were as hard as steel. "I'm known as the Pacifier. I believe that title is fairly self-explanatory. I pacify. And by my calculations, you are something that very much deserves to be pacified. Care to prove me wrong?"

Training Room

Matten was busy working her arse off in the training room when something suddenly felt... off. She wasn't quite sure how or why, but there it was. Suddenly, a great light opened up in the ceiling above and a bright white beam of energy rained down on her. If she didn't do something ASAP, Matten would soon find herself an ex-deava.

Principal's Office

Saint had been busy preparing his notes for class. Seeing as he had just appointed himself Class 1's new teacher, he needed to come up with some sort of curriculum lickity-split. Superspeed proved itself to be a helluva of a lifesaver, but he still had to wonder if he was up to the task. Being Prinicipal was one thing, but a teacher? That was a different story.

Still, there wasn't any time to worry about it now. He looked up from his desk. He could hear a large number of screams coming from the direction of the cafeteria, and none of them sounded good. He rose up and started to head to the door when—

"Ah, Saint. Just as noble as ever."

He knew that voice. He couldn't ever forget that voice if he tried. But it just wasn't possible. Was it?

He slowly turned around. Standing in the center of the office was a tall bald man in a thick suit of Powered Armor, all black. His head shined under the lights, and his smug, prideful smirk told Saint all he needed to know. "Leon."

The shifting mass of ink twitched and flailed its tentacles wildly as the woman threatened it, however it didn't make any moves until she left.

Once she did, it began to expand at an even greater place, the pool of ink around it beginning to increase in size. A few tendrils stretched up from one point in the mass, knotting together to create a vaguely humanoid form.

Staggering a little, a few more tendrils helped steady it, and this process continued all around the main mass to create a number of around two dozen.

Starting with a slow shamble, the inky humanoids began to pick up speed, their limbs flailing uselessly around as they made a mad dash to meet the army of robots.

Back on the side closest Hei, an area began to bubble as a thin black tendril slowly outstretched, splitting in such a way that it looked almost like a human hand.

A human hand that was the size and shape of Lucy's hand.

It grasped his, giving it a light squeeze, before uncurling and retreating back into the shifting mass from whence it came.

Her attacks did not seem to do much damage against the enemy. As if this already did not scream bad news, Lethal Legion arrived seemingly out of nowhere. Alexa saw how they were planning for to eliminate other students, with Darkheart and Lucy's current form serving as distractions.

She had to stop the Lethal Legion from their goal, no matter the cost. Automaton was willing to sacrifice herself if the need arrived, driven by altruism that was barely functioning. Omega flew to one of the robots and stabbed it with her arm blade.

Mikael ducked under a table as the rubble fell, but it seems he needn't have bothered - his comrades had already stopped it. Once he was clear, he leaped to his feet and sprinted towards where his knife had fallen, snatching it up and spinning to face Elim again.

Then everything went to hell. Lucy turned into an ink monster, the shadow-fucker seemed delighted, and he called in reinforcements. Fich mich. Noting the woman in the bodysuit, and guessing she was probably less slippery than the shadow guy (even with his knife, he doubted his chances against someone with powers that strong - especially given that he didn't have any of his equipment barring his coat), he charged towards her, leaning forward into his run, empowered coat drawn around him and knife raised to slash at her - or parry, in case she tried to attack first.

"I assure you this will be your last hour!" He roared as he lunged.

She then saw Lucy collapsing on the floor and struggling to reform herself.

"Hm?"

As Omega looked up, she soon noticed she hadn't stabbed any ordinary robot. This one was different from the others. It was white and gold, and while it didn't have a trace of synthetic flesh over most of its' body, it still had a largely humanoid shape. It's face was also just as realistic and expressive as Omega's. And it (or was it a she?) seemed all too happy to have someone to thrash.

"You. Oh, I know all about you. I've been waiting for this!" She ripped Omega's arm blade right out of where she sunk it and then held up Omega by the throat, aiming a laser cannon at the end of her arm straight at her face. "Omega, isn't it? Pleasure to meet ya. I'm Alpha. It's hell'a ironic, but I'm gonna be your end. Don't that beat all?"

As for Mikael, the girl didn't even blink. "Morgoth, if you please?"

In the blink of an eye, Mikael's lunge was blocked like childsplay, and by a most devilish newcomer at that. She was wielding a scythe and used it with the skill of someone with years of experince. Her skin was ruby red, and firey hair fell down to their hooves. She was wearing nothing but a strap of cloth and a skimpy loincloth, and she didn't mind in the least. Her long tail moved in the air like a whip and carried around a small dagger at the end. And her eyes and teeth were like those of a wild beast's. In any case, it was clear this girl whatever she was wasn't exactly human.

"Hey now, don't be greedy! I wanna play! You can chop up Ms.Yvanne all ya want later. I wanna have some fun! Especially since we've got a lot of catching up to do. Ain't that right? Lil' bro?"

As for the ink dolls, it was a noble effort, but in a battle of ink versus metal, metal tends to be the winner. The dolls splatted against the back of the robots, marring their freshly coated visages but otherwise leaving them none the worst for wear.

Outside the Cafeteria

Ever escorted Oliver through the door and through the crowd of stampeding students as a maelstrom of roots and weaponized tables covered their escape. Once they were away from the stampeding students, she set Oliver gently down against the wall. Following him down to keep her leaves around his wound.

"You okay?"

Cafeteria

The roots seemed infinite as they continued to pour from cracks in the floor. They tore into the robots with a brutal and mesmerizing efficiency. Some of the roots snatched the machines and pinned them to the floor, while others lifted up the metal tables, turning them from shields into makeshift guillotines to cut into the weaker parts of the armor. Other roots still came up to guard the fleeing students, chairs being utilized almost like clubs to knock the bots away from their targets and back

The dolls didn't seem to stop once their attack failed - it actually seemed like they were encouraged, building up further speed to coat the robots even more thoroughly.

It was soon apparent why.

Once all the dolls had given the robots a new paint job, the ink they were made up of began to slowly seep in between the cracks in their mechanical joints, filling up their insides with liquid. More dolls formed and made mad dashes for other robots to continue this process.

Inside the already attacked robots, the sheer pressure of the ink against the shell caused it to begin to bend, ink flowing steadily out of the joints due to it overflowing. It wouldn't be long before they went boom simply due to the liquid's high density from being packed in one tight space.

Training Lab—Yes you read right

    What kept the daeva busy
Another chunk of the building collapsed before dissolving into hardlight. This only seemed to make the holo-civvies scream more. Matten did not blame the program for having them jump. Those who tried the stairs fell, got crushed, or succumbed to the gas. No the building was fine on its own. The problem was the chimeric, tentacled thing that crawled through its corridors. Love Inuyasha!

Matten herself had set up on the fire escape across the alley with a satchel full of Bozo's books and a spectrometer from the lab. Her aura was plainly a black body, but if she observed creation's reactions to her and specific quantum soup leftover... Perhaps I can work my way down to well, touching people again.

This morning had been intolerable, and Bozo still proved rather flaky. In any case, her little mini-lab stood in minimal danger from the collapsing building she had set up. Interceptor and Saint emphasized saving people over eliminating threats. May as well practice both at once. Even if she failed, the spectrometer got the result for later study.

At first, she did the obviously foolish, trying to seize and plant people with conjured tentacles. Those that didn't dissolve immediately, er...fell apart on landing, or sank to the ground severely 'burned.' It hadn't been supposed to work like saving, but the spectrometer recorded, and she had results. Hardlight wasn't flesh, but she doubted Bozo would let her 'practice' that and her parents were never around when she needed old notes.

Sighing, Matten skimmed over a bit more of her latest tome, while making pot shots with her tentacles and wisps of aura. The Not-Magatsuhi thing was huge. She couldn't miss it. Well, there were civvies, but...sigh. Paying attention now, she curved her tentacles around a family crouched around their children and pierced the thing. It grinned before its wounds sealed. Huh. F***

She quickly covered the family with her own limbs before traversing them far afield. They landed all flat on their backs. I exposed them too long. She cocked her head. Well, practice makes perfect...

....

By the end of that session, Matten's score stood at 15 civilians rescued, 3 killed by Not-Magatsuhi and 26 severely injurednote  by her 'help'. The rest were already keeping their distance form her. "I sense that could have gone better, but I am here to learn." In truth that was only partly thinking out loud. She'd already learned to act as if she was being watched. Again. Even without Interceptor. Theoretically. He showed quite some passion. I don't expect he'd just walk away and that's bygones...

She rolled over, ignoring the holo-civilians. "Most of them I had to use the chain to deliver. That much was obvious, but I need to work on that technique a tad more. Not like rustling beasts or Ever Green plants.

Matten still lay idly forming orbs of aura with her when the lights turned way up. "Oh sweet relief!"

A phantasm dragged her satchel (and Bozo's books) away while she rolled off to the side, resting (and still not getting up) a ways away, while she running her fingers on the ground, and leaving spreading, minute cracks. "For such an entrance, I'll let you go first..."

"I hope that hurts" He said with venom. With the robots, several pieces on the inside were frozen and skewered as quickly as he could.

I better call some reinforcements if this keeps getting worse He thought. "Hey, Rosa, got some flash bang grenades? Could help against the other shadow kid"

Mikael's heart was pounding as he saw the demon-girl appear in front of him. This... this was the kind of monster his grandfather had warned him about. A devil in the flesh, for him to kill. He smiled, slightly and drew back his blade, preparing for another slash, when she spoke.

His blood froze.

"You lie." His steel nerves were all that kept his hands from trembling. The words of his grandfather echoed back to him. It made too much sense. It had to be wrong. Opa would have told me. Opa... Opa had... that's why... Something snapped. "I... I... I- Ich werde dich töten, Dämon!"

Liam took up the rear guard to the retreating students, reflecting any attacks coming in with a strategically deployed barrier - in some cases reflecting the attacks stronger than they'd come in. Liam scowled and dug in his feet, making a tremendous barrier to make it obvious he intended to buy time for the others to retreat from the field.

"Alright! Fine! Even if it reopens my wounds again, I'll blast every single one of you rustbucket fuckers to scrap! Come on!"

He then sent out waves of concussive force amplified by any attack caught up in them at the robots pursuing the retreating students. Liam breathed - he had just yesterday gone really heavy, but it seemed his endurance of Regalia's deployment was improved by the experience.
