hi there, glad to see you stop by!
thanks for posting a sign up, but i want to make sure, is this the character you've submitted? that particular article tells us quite a bit, but we will need more detail in every (applicable) field before we clear her for the game.
i'm 100% unfamiliar with kiddy grade, and between the article and your sign-up, eclair sounds like a joke character. nothing wrong with that, but we discourage the use of joke characters as the first character anyone plays in the game. we want to make sure you get a hang of the ropes with some normal interaction.
HOWEVER, i get the feeling that:
1. elcair is not a joke character in her original work and is merely an over-the-top one.
2. she is not as overpowered as her abilities sound.
if you expand on her occupation (what is a G.O.T.T? how does she operate? etc.), how her abilities work and what they are, and most importantly, what her personality is like (we are an interaction-heavy game, so knowing what to expect from her is very important), we'll take another look at your sign up and go from there.
for the record, i think you've probably got a solid first character to play. as long as things get expanded on and filled out more we'll probably be good to go!
[forum cryptid: it/it's]Correct, it is. The rest was taken from The Wiki Rule.
-Name: Nihilego -Source (Canon Characters Only): Pokémon Sun and Moon -Age: ??? -Gender: Genderless, but acts female -Appearance: [1]◊ -Personality: She behaves in a way similar to a young girl, and acts mainly on a self-preservation instinct. She is unable to speak human languages on account of being a Pokémon, but don't worry- I'll translate what she's saying in parentheses. -Abilities (Can be either skills or powers): As a parasitic organism, Nihilego is able to latch onto people's heads and release a neurotoxin that stimulates intense feelings of excitement while causing a loss of inhibitions. She is also able to use several Rock and Poison-type attacks. Her moveset is Stealth Rock, Power Gem, Sludge Wave, and Acid Spray.

hey hey hey thanks for dropping by here!
i appreciate you submitting a sheet (protip, double line spacing will let you format that post like mine!) for us. i've taken a look at it and you are approved to go.
one thing that bears mentioning is that we usually ask for more in the personality section for reasons mentioned elsewhere in the thread, but i'm willing to let you in here since we 100% recommend friendly/amicable characters to get a feel for the game (which means we're trusting you to play this pokemon like most of the others: friendly and people-compatable)
in any case, welcome in! you can post whenever you feel comfortable
[forum cryptid: it/it's]I couldn't sign up using the sign-up sheet so I'm signing up here.

allllllll righty!
sorry about the confusion about the sign up threads: the one you found was the old one that we updated here for reasons.
in any case, most of this sheet looks just fine, but as i said earlier, we'll need a little more on his personality before i can give you the green light: i realize that the sims doesn't offer much in the way of actual character (what with the gibberish they speak) but this game is very heavily interaction based, and knowing what mortimer here is like in any and all situations will be of the utmost help: you don't need a whole lot, just about a paragraph or two on who he is, what he does, and how he plays with others.
let me know when you get that edited in and i'll take another look-see at the sheet for you!
[forum cryptid: it/it's]TopCulture is now cleared to play
[forum cryptid: it/it's]I made it in. Hooray!

anger mode: ONRight you are, friend!
Cleared for posting, and BTW, love the art of your char! Very cute. Welcome. :D
make it through this year if it kills you yet | 2001-2019Okay not a person in any position of authority whatsoever, just a veteran player but that character is adorable in both art and personality description.
That is all.
Hey, I'd like to join the RP but first I want to ask, is there any ongoing plot going on or something? If there is I don't want to intrude or something.
good question! i have a bit of a tricky answer for you
yes, and no
this sign up here is for this game, which has no overarching plot and is geared towards drop-in/drop-out character interaction. small, individual plots occur naturally given the slice of life style of the thread, but i can say with an almost 100% certainty that no one person's plot will affect the entire cast. (we call this thread "the fg" because it used to be in forum games)
we also run an actual rp thread (named, naturally, "the rp", natch) over this way which is plot-oriented with continuity. this thread is in the middle of a plot, and more importantly, currently closed to new players until (at least) the plot's conclusion.
the former thread, however, is open to any and all and you are more than welcome to post a sign up sheet here for it! since the rp moves more slowly it may take a while for players to get a slot in it, but cutting your teeth in the fg is usually a great way to get your foot in the door and get a good feel for how things tend to go around here.
[forum cryptid: it/it's]I'd like to sign up in the first game, as Orochi from One Punch Man. Is he good or too OP?
(apologies for the delay. my phone died just as i was typing this ip!)
first off, you will need to submit your character in a sheet, but thankfully i'm familiar with one punch man so i can answer with this: the chances of getting into the game with him are slim not because he's op, but because he's a villain. we're hardly against having villains in the game, but as i said, the fg is primarily interaction based and it has historically worked the best to bring a friendly character first to get a good feel for the game. try submitting and playing a friendly character first to cut your teeth and get a feel for the game, and you can always consider what villain you'd want to play later.
[forum cryptid: it/it's]Oh ok then. What about King? He's a fun character and not a villain. I'll make his sheet right away.
please post a character sheet end we'll review it then
[forum cryptid: it/it's]- Name: Suiryu
- Source: One Punch Man
- Age: Early 20's
- Gender: Male
- Appearance:Master of Hype and Martial Arts
- Personality: Suiryu is an easygoing and carefree man usually seen smiling and is a notorious playboy, who would rather spend time with women than training. Suiryu is very eager to fight strong opponents and the reason for fighting is to live an easy life without worry.
- During fights, Suiryu holds back in an effort to make any fight more interesting, only using his legs during his fights and later defeating his opponents with one kick. While fighting he tries to make small talk and after he defeats his opponents, he sarcastically apologizes to them for being too strong.
- Suiryu dislikes heroes since he perceives them as cocky and fame-craving and thinks all their heroic actions, benevolent preaching, and their sense of justice are a waste of time and boring. The reason behind this mindset is because he feels that no matter how strong or noble a hero, there is no way he or she can solve all crises or destroy evil completely. As a result, he chooses a carefree and thrill-seeking lifestyle rather than fighting for justice.
- Abilities
- Enhanced Senses: Suiryu was able to sense the bloodlust of Bakuzan as well as being able to sense Saitama's strength after witnessing him defeating Zakos with one slap.
- Immense Speed and Reflexes: Suiryu possesses an extreme amount of speed and reflexes, being able to kick and defeat Max, an A-Class hero, in an instant, as well as being also able to dodge several strikes from another A-Class hero, Sneck with ease. Furthermore, Suiryu is fast enough to keep up with Monster Choze in their duel while the other martial artists, except Gouketsu, couldn't see their movements at all.
- Immense Strength: During the Super Fight Tournament, Suiryu effortlessly defeated the A-Class heroes Lightning Max and Sneck with one kick each. He easily cut the fighting ring in half with one chop and proceeded to flip up half of it with one stomp. His overwhelming strength was enough to terrify most of the audience in the tournament, including the security. He was strong enough to deflect and kick Choze's energy projected attack into the sky. Suiryu was also strong enough to blow off one of Three Crows heads with a single kick despite being in his weakened state. With his last burst of strength, he managed to break the toe of the Dragon level monster Bakuzan. This seems to indicate he could possibly put up a decent fight against Monster Bakuzan when at his full power. Even when he is completely drained of energy, he had enough power to crack the concrete when he smashed it with his fist. When flexing his muscles, he is able to shatter metal bars around his biceps, showing off his incredible muscle power.
- Immense Durability: Suiryu was able to come out of his fight with Saitama without any lasting injuries though the hero wasn't serious at all. He didn't sustain any visible damage on his person despite having been launched out of the fighting ring by Saitama's hip bump that used Suiryu's own momentum against himself even when the impact shattered part of the concrete audience stand. Suiryu can take hits from Goukestsu without being knocked out despite being heavily injured.
- Immense Endurance: Suiryu possesses great stamina and endurance as he was able to withstand a hip bump from Saitama that sent him flying into the audience and recovered in little time. Even after the fight, a short time later he is able to fight and defeat multiple martial artists who became Mysterious Beings. After defeating the transformed martial artists, he was still able to perform one of his martial arts techniques on the transformed Gouketsu. Despite being heavily injured, Suiryu remained conscious, albeit barely, after being hit by Gouketsu. His great endurance is yet again shown through the fact that he was able to withstand a heavy hit from Monster Bakuzan, despite sustaining heavy injuries from Gouketsu prior and still stay conscious.
- Master Martial Artist: Suiryu is an extremely accomplished martial artist, having won four Super Fight Tournaments in a row. He can easily defeat A-Class heroes and has shown fighting abilities possibly on par with S-Class heroes.
- Void Fist: This style focuses on maximizing damage output while keeping a consistent flow of damage. His kicks are strong enough to launch Saitama high into the air and pin him deep into the ground. After Saitama blows off his clothes, he is shown using hand techniques with moves that involve spinning in a tornado movement accompanied by multiple hand thrusting attacks and punches, as well as a twisting punch that is strong enough to launch Saitama in mid-air. The style also contains defensive techniques, such as concentrating to harden a body part to withstand an attack from an opponent.
- Void Sky Dragon Fist: Suiryu attacks his opponents rapidly with a barrage of punches to the point of creating tremendous momentum that makes him twist like a tornado in mid-air. The momentum he creates from his repeating blows preserves his mid-air rotations.
- Void Shivering Tiger Fist: Suiryu drives his foot into the ground and takes a stand to put more power in his strikes.
- Void Phoenix Ascension Fist: A follow-up to Void Shivering Tiger Fist in which Suiryu initiates a twisting punch that is launched into his opponent's body. The twisting motion further increases the power of his punch. Suiryu states that he can pulverize a truck with this attack. He uses this move to defeat Choze and it was powerful enough to break through Choze's heavily armored body.
Done, made a Suiryu sheet. Is it okay?
dang man that's some s-rank effort.
yeah you're cleared to play, drop in whenever you're ready!
[forum cryptid: it/it's]- Name:Heat (spoken Heart) Summer
- Age: 21
- Gender:female
- Appearance: (she`s 1,75 m tall btw)
- Personality: Heat is a quirky musician and dancer with a huge hang for action and adventure and isn`t really scaring away from a fight, but she seems way to self critical and is quite reckless. She has a respect for anyone who has build their skills from the ground up (what she basically did with her singing and dancing career plus material arts and her other skills) and can be quite annoyed by people who just got their abilities and are perfect with them.
- Abilities (Can be either skills or powers): singing / rapping, dancing, playing guitar, material arts, athletics (was a flyer in her cheerleader team in school)
- Misc: she is the main vocalist and dancer of kinda an own group called "Star Noon" and the leader of the dimension saving crossover team "Chaos Squad" (Kinda ironic naming, but they chose that name for a reason). Yet some other abilities she has (but isn`t really found of them) are her crystal and fire abilities, although they are pretty handy for impressive live shows.
Phew, this will be a long edit for all the questions...... So, I'll do it as shortly as possible.
- You've addressed the issue with her knowing other characters, that's a pretty good point and it's a pretty nifty unspoken rule, but since she travels across many dimensions she knows how to just keep shut about it and use her information pool at the right time
- Her fire and crystal abilities are kinda what you would think they are - mystical abilities with which she controls fire (biggest example: a gigantic phoenix out of fire which had a wing length of a seriously large stage and manouvering this beast while singing and dancing across the arena without any damage) and crystals (biggest example here: creating aand destroying a one family house tall crystal and flinging those shards at a monster twice the size of the world's biggest building and killing it), which she has obtained during the crossover.
- The crossovers still in full pursuit, but she and other characters in the base team (5 others to be precise) have gotten ancient crystals which contain elementary and dimension warping powers (kinda like a Hammerspace to go)
- The reason for mentioning Blood Knight in it, is simply that she isn't afraid to show that she isn't really that ordinary of a singer how everyone wants her to see her as. She actually got on record that if someone would seriously threaten her or her friends' lifes, she won't hesitate to get that person out of her way, monster or not. Luckily it has only been monsters till now. (But an almost was in it: She actually almost killed Wiz because she thought he was a pretty well made copy from her rival and wanted to throw her off, resulted in her almost blasting him with a force worthy of Thor. But she luckily snapped back to reality and it didn't happened, but she felt quite exhausted onto the floor after letting the ball of energy dissapear)

Currently too lazy to switch pics... Although, it's cute, shut upHi there, CrossoverFan! Nifty that you found us, considering your interest in crossovers. c: Just a couple things I'd to mention about your signup, though don't worry too much! Most of it looks good.
However:
- I noticed you mentioned Heat having abilities related to fire and crystals. Could you explain those a bit more? It sounds nifty, but I'll need to see what all that entails.
- As for Chaos Squad, that also sounds cool, but how do they go about dimension-hopping? Do they find wormholes, or use some sort of machine to do it, or something else? What do they usually do when they go to other dimensions?
- This is more of a semantics comment than anything else, but Blood Knight may not be the best trope or phrase to describe her enthusiasm over webshows and things, since she herself isn't directly participating in the combat mentioned. I can sort of see where you're coming from with that, though, just wanted to mention.
Finally, regarding Heat's fandoms and recognition of different dimensions: While this is a cool trait, and I know our rules didn't mention this clause specifically, we have sort of an unspoken guideline about characters having knowledge about other characters' series of origin. Typically, we like to avoid situations where one character could look at another and go "Oh! I know you, you're from Spider-Man!" or something like that. I tried to explain this, but I also got kinda wordy so I went ahead and stuffed it into a folder so it wouldn't be a big, scary textwall looming over you. Read it if you're curious.
TL;DR, OCs knowing that other characters are fictional makes it awkward for people who want to RP as those characters, so we either avoid it outright or step around it a bit.
- There's a couple reasons why we're cautious about this, one of which is the potential for metagaming. As an example: If my OC Günther Glazkov was fighting Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean, and he had watched the film, he would know that Davy's heart is locked in a chest rather than inside his body because it's his only weakness. He could then destroy the chest and defeat Davy Jones much more easily than someone who didn't have this knowledge to begin with, giving him an unfair advantage in such combat.
- Another reason why we're cautious about meta-knowledge is its effect on other characters' mental wellbeing. This may sound a bit weird at first, so I'll explain. Using Günther as an example again, say he were to meet Davy Jones in a peaceful context and strike up a conversation with him. If Günther were to say "I really liked you in Pirates of the Caribbean, you were my favorite villain" or something like that, this would naturally cause Davy some confusion and dismay. Günther would have to explain to Davy that he knew him from a work of fiction as an evil character. Davy, who has no idea what movies even are and doesn't see himself as evil to begin with, would likely have an existential crisis once it was all explained to him. His relationship with Calypso, his turning into a monster and his many battles against Jack Sparrow and the other pirates would all mean nothing, as they were just events in a movie made to entertain an audience. This would more than likely alter the course of his character development permanently and drive the poor, evil squid-man to despair.
For these reasons, here's how we typically deal with an OC having knowledge of a fictional property:
- The OC "magically" forgets the fictional series if someone else brings in a character from that same series.
- The OC is a fan of something a lot like that series, but with a different name and slightly different details.
- Or the OC just doesn't mention it around this character.
I hope this makes sense, and I'm sorry if this too wordy or anything. I'd be happy to help you out if you have any questions or anything, and I hope you're still willing to give our game a chance. c:

make it through this year if it kills you yet | 2001-2019- Name: Ryo Sakazaki- Er, Mr. Karate II
- Source (Canon Characters Only): Buriki One/Neo Geo Battle Coliseum
- Age: 32
- Gender: Male
- Appearance: Who's this Ryo you speak of? His Tengu Mask.◊
- Personality:
- Ryo is a serious, disciplined, and loyal fighter, but also a bit of a goof. He is admittedly... not the sharpest tool in the shed, and not inherently talented, but he has a hard set belief that he can overcome that.
- These traits tend to carry over to the way he interacts. He is serious and stoic on the surface, but around those he's comfy with, he starts being a bit more goofy. He, as previously mentioned, is very caring and loyal, almost like a faithful guard dog to those he cares about.
- Ryo tends to be a tad blunt with people, not pulling punches and telling it like it is. This tends to be a double edged sword, but it all tends to work out in the end.
- Abilities:
- Martial Arts Mastery: Ryo is a master of Kyokugenryu karate, a style specializing in ki control and fast flurries of attacks, although it does have solid, basic karate fundamentals.
- Ki Control: Ryo can control his Ki, allowing him to flare up his power, augment his attacks, and shoot "fireballs", as it be.
- Multiple Attacks: Ryo, as a part of Kyokugenryu, can attack someone multiple times very fast.
- Sample post:
Ryo focuses, his mind at ease.
He closes his eyes, seeing his friend, Robert.
Without uttering a word, the duo assume their stances.
They both fire a Haoh Sho Ko Ken, them clashing against each other.
"Heh. I guess we should actually throw down, eh?"
Robert, once again saying nothing, jumps and dives down with his foot.
Ryo attempts to counter with an uppercut as the illusion fades out...
