Look at this one ephetit I found on wikipedia " Melindia or Melinoia (meli, "honey"), as the consort of Hades, in Hermione". There is something very positively sweet about that one. Seriously, if you couldn't give more otp material for those two. One her ephetits is basically a term of endearment.
It's also interesting just how much of our perceptions are colored by that one manuscript. It's rare to have a source that's so popular, yet only comes from itself and not any prior documentation or even attested references like the rest of the Homeric cycle we lost.
It's a shame the actual contents of the myth and mysteries were so common as to not need much clarification, when so much context is lost now. Makes you wonder what the pomegranate ruse actually entailed.
"No will to break."That is so wild. Lost to time and all we have is to speculate until we find anything else.
Greek's lucky by comparison. Study Sumer/Acadian mythology, and weep at how many unfinished and broken chunks of text are missing. The Sappho episode Blue's hyping is going to be particularly depressing if he gets to her written material.
"No will to break."I can't wait for it.

For some reason, I can't help but laugh at this bit from the credits:
Maybe it's because the video focuses on the time when Enki and Ninmah were shitfaced.
Red had way too much fun doing that. Also nice to get more Sumerian rep on the channel.

I assure you, I'm a completely trustworthy person. And now, the most important video ever released on Overly Sarcastic Productions... THE CLEO CAMEO!
Today's Miscellaneous Myths episode is about Loki, where Red examines the various stories of Loki and tries to figure out his origins.
One interesting thing she brings up is that the story where Loki causes Baldur's death could have been based on a story where an unwilling person was selected to be a sacrifice to Odin, and the people decide to do a "pretend sacrifice" to appease Odin while not really killing the guy. Said guy ends up dying when a branch used to poke him suddenly turns into a spear.

Makes me wonder if Persephone started out as an imported version of Ereshkigal, much like Aphrodite was Ishtar. She did take that role in the Adonis myth, which was based on Tammuz.

A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.
