@ Rodimus Minor I suppooooose so, but I liked that Amy and Sonic had unique relationship, different from all other main couples in fiction. I wasnt fan of Sonic Boom's super generic Unresolved Sexual Tension. Will Rouge and Knuckles get standard couple stuff next?

The series is still So OK, It's Average for me so far. I'll give it a few more issues otherwise I'll just follow it casually afterward.

Same. I'm giving it until the Tangle & Whisper mini to see if Flynn can manage a good story out of them.
14 was a stark improvement but I think the biggest problem with the comic right now is that while it always does the character voice right you never get cool fights, a sense of adventure and exotic locale and plot progression all at the same time. It's always one picked out for the issue.
So does anybody know exactly when that Annual is supposed to come out? Sonic News Network says it's May 8th
, Amazon / comiXology says April 24th, and IDW themselves say March. No specific date, just "March".

Shadow was brainwashed? He seemed fully in control in SA 2... I know in Battle he talks about being a weapon but I assumed it was how he was created, not anything to do with his mind.
(I never played Shadow the Hedgehog XD;)

As far as I know Shadow has never been brainwashed. Sonic was referring to his pre-heel turn actions in Adventure 2.

He was reprogrammed by Gerald to believe Maria wanted the planet to be obliterated, this was stated in both the english and japanese version of SA 2
Granted, he technically did do stuff in his own volition, but he was still being controlled by Gerald in some way

It was never outright said, but I believe there was a Japanese manual that pointed out Gerald reprogrammed Shadow to carry out his plan

My question will always be 'but why a hedgehog?' XD I like the theory that he saw the Angel Island mural of Super Sonic and based him off that, since he found Emerl around there too I think.

Gerald is generally implied to be big fan of old relics. Remember that he build Artificial Chaoses and that his Chaos Control device looked a lot like a shrine from Angel Island. Taking inspiration from mural is very likely.

According to this Dr. Starline was created as a spiritual successor to Dr. Finitevus from the Archie Sonic series (and presumably Dr. Zachary from Sonic the Comic).
