Few data observation. Heart definitely was redrawn from scratch.

Is the PS2 sprites really that outdated? I still think GG looks great.

So that youtube annoucer clips sounds wwwwaaaayyy too good to be true. Even if they do take the MVC 2 (which they should've done to begin with) there's still a lot sprite to be made here.

Well whatever the case is here, I rather have Mercury over Adam in any life time. I'm so friggin done with him & his shitastic fanbase.

As much as it's easy to call out Arcsys; its probably a cost issue. They would have to literally get EVERY VA just to record one or two lines.

Even DBFZ skimps that a bit.

Speaking of which, Nine and Yuzu's VA, Ayumi Fujimura, has been on an indefinite hiatus since April. So Arcsys won't be able to record new lines for them even if they want to. unless they're willing to shell out more money for a replacement. Between this and the controversy surrounding Vic Mignogna, that should put into perspective how much of a hassle actor availability is for games that have frequent add-on content.

They're in Standard Definition proportions. If you blow them up to match the other character's sizes, they'd look hideous.

And even with Blazblue's sprites being higher definition, they still look pretty outdated compared to the newer CF sprites, Uni, and the RWBY cast.

Hell, even in the Blazblue cast itself, I feel like there’s a slight but noticeable quality difference between the OG characters and say, the ones from CF.

This talk reminds me of all those Capcom games up until the mid-2000s that opted to use the same low-quality Morrigan sprite. For example:◊

Okay, to talk about the SK characters a bit. Now let us assume that the list is potential characters (IE, not confirmed, but they could be in over others). There are some odd choices in inclusion and exclusion. Like Yagyuu and Hibari over Ikaruga and Katsuragi? Homura's Crimson Squad only having one additional member aside of Homura (who isn't Hikage)? Ryoubi is fine, but she would have some competition to get over her sister Ryouna. Rest are relatively fine.

Now one person I have seen made bit of speculation that the reason for these decisions might be due of the new Sony censorship policies. Senran Kagura series has been in bit of a forefront of the whole thing to the point that the series creator left the series due of not knowing what to do with it. So in that in mind, there might be some logic behind the decisions.

Can I mention how confused I am hearing how the announcer said “Bullet?”

Which is weird how much I can see how bad the BB sprite are in comparison to the RWBY one. I guess there is a significant between fan projects & official products.

Thank god we're long pass those days. I can't believe it took TVC for Morrigan to finally get updated.

True. Though at least in Chronophantasm it sounds like “Bullet.” Here it sounds like “Mallet.”

Akatsuki is actually a character I've been wanting for Cross Tag Battle. His entire game getting in would be a little more than I bargained for.

It's been ages since I've touch Chronophantasm, but IIRC the announce it's always been kind of funky when it comes pronunciations.

For anyone who's confuse on who's who here's a more organize list.

Thought chances you already read this by now.

So how many of these characters are actually going to get pick? I forgot the total number of the roster, but new sprites or not there's clearly not going to be over 70 characters. That being said, it's safe pretty safe they're going to pick someone from that list. So as long it's not Adam, I'm good with pretty much anyone.

Also, main reason for me saying that the SK characters are bit questionable is due of the not necessarily being the most popular characters (at least in comparison).

Sort of surprised that Fiona would be in the AH over someone like Mei-Fang. But I guess there is no such as thing as popularity.

Ehhhh UNI animates well but they're not as crisp as BB IMO.

A retail video game shouldn't look amateurish the way a Mugen set up or an internet animation does. Disparate sprite styles look really off next to each other.

That's unavoidable when one series' sprites are made by different people.

That's a hard disagree, at least on early CT sprites. Hyde's animations far outclass Ragna's for me.

Let it never be said Arc don't pay attention to detail
