YOU BEAT ME TO IT.
Why does Sly look like a tall version of Rocket raccoon in this one? Anyways, I'm hyped.
"We be we baby!"I wanted a Ratchet & Clank cartoon...
I love the games but in this I can't stand how he looks. Why couldn't they have tried to match the game he looks great in it.
They could have even given the makers of the cartoon a high detailed model used in the cutscenes.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureThey improved the model from the movie teaser, made that one less realistic, and that is SO much better than nothing, that I am satisfied with what we got.

"It is my pleasure to announce our pride and joy, THE SLY COOPER MOVIE!"
-Ratchet and Crank flops-
"....................... ... it is my pleasure to announce our pride and joy, THE SLY COOPER TV SERIES!"
Basically.
I just hope they have a solid crew of writers and storytellers at this point. Sly lends himself to an animated series much more than a movie.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Agree completely.
I wonder how much they're going to let Sly actually be a thief?
They better let Sly do more thieving than "Ratchet" did shooting in the R&C movie.
THE Kevin Miller will talk about it on Second Funniest Podcast.

The Technicolor website now lists this show as one of its productions. There's an image at the bottom that looks to be from the show itself, and the series is described as having 52 11 minute episodes and being a "CG animated comedy series".
The description also sounds like it's going to take place in one city, instead of the gang going around the world. I guess that's what happens when you make it CGI and can't afford to create new assets.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).If it's successful, second season can fix that.
LET'S MAKE IT SUCCESSFUL, SHALL WE?
I find it interesting that Bentley is in his wheel chair witch means that the TV show takes place after the second game.
What makes you think the show will take place in the games' canon?
Yeah, I think this is going to be a reboot.
Though I do wonder if they're going to do their own take on Sly 2's events or if they're even going to address it in the first place.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Nothing much but with Bentley being in a wheel chair there going with a part of the games canon.
2 separate continuities.
Bentley has spent as much time in the wheelchair as out, more of you want to go by real world time.
So it isn’t necessarily a continuity thing so much as a familiarity thing
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyThe cutscenes in the games always looked ready to be converted into an actual series and now I finally get to see one and... they use CGI.
Shows like Back in the Barnyard, Kung Fu Panda, Jimmy Neutron, and Penguins of Madagascar usually come out looking decent, but they're obviously not to the level of the feature-length films they were spawned from. I don't see why they needed to take this risk instead of just hiring the people who did the cutscenes in the games.
This looks like the 2007 TMNT film. That movie was okay, but it was a huge departure from any of the TMNT animations prior to it, at least visually. A new look is not always the smartest route.
It's to the Ratchet and Clank movie's credit that it looks almost exactly like the rebooted game. I don't see why this team had to do something different for Sly Cooper. The cutscenes in Sly 4 borrowed the same visual style so clearly there's animators around who can draw/animate in that style.
Maybe I should just be happy this is getting off of the ground since it's apparently been in Development Hell, but I can't help but feel a bit disappointed. People always take these nostalgic franchises and seem to think, "how can I tweak this nostalgia and make it look different."
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Do not, even for a second, think you are the only one who's sad the show is not going to be 2D.
You also have shows like All Hail King Julien, where the CGI has surpassed the one in the earlier movies. Dreamworks and Netflix didn't go cheap on that one.
But yeah, even though I'm the furthest thing from a CGI snob, it's such a missed opportunity. There's still a market for 2D animation even today, and the games tailored themselves after Saturday Morning Cartoons, that it's a bit disappointing they're doing a generic-looking CGI series. It's even worse when you realize that it means they're going to be stuck in one city and basically getting rid of the globe-trotting aspect of the games.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).I mean, is CGI less expensive or something? Technology makes the drawing and the animating easier, but I'd think the money it takes to purchase these computers and the software that needs to be run on them would be more expensive than the hours paid to someone drawing in a 2D style with maybe less refined equipment.
But, that's what my hypothetical art and business degrees are telling me anyway.
I gave Sonic Boom a chance and I tolerate it for what it is. And they did get all of the voice actors back... remains to be seen who will voice Carmelita this time around. I don't think they ever had a consistent voice actress for her.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Every episode should have a different voice actress.
CG is more expensive...initially. However, if you have a large episode order, or if you're going to be renewing the show for multiple seasons, then it can actually become cost-effective, as it's a lot easier to reuse CG assets, and you would only need to have additional funding for some new assets and some touch-ups here and there. Traditional animation has you build new stuff constantly.
Hence a greater push for more CG cartoons, even if execs ignore the fact that you have to keep renewing the shows for them to actually be worth it *cough*Green Lantern and Beware*cough*
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).CG backgrounds are always more expensive however.
Even though the movie might be possibly dead, we are at least getting a new Sly Cooper animated series by Technicolor Animated Studios (Sonic Boom) in collaboration with Sony.
No news yet on where and when it will premiere.
