Nothin' about either of my ideas? Man, I put so much effort into these, and it feels like they hardly ever get attention.
It's too unpractical, there should be a function where your support & anchor can protect Goku
That function is called assist. Have them be able to use their assists while he's charging.
You're basing this on.... what? Since you're saying it's somehow easy.
And that comparison doesn't work because of how Arc Systems does their 3D models. Which isn't easy.
Oozaru isn't quick transformation anyway, so it wouldn't work as well as Goku going Super Saiyan 3 or Blue Goku using the Kaio-Ken.

Oozaru can be just as quick as SS3.
Start, Vegeta throws the Fake Moon and it activates.
Vegeta grows into an Oozaru.
Oozaru Vegeta beats up the opponent, ending with a beam.
Fake Moon blows up, and Vegeta transforms back.

That doesn't sound quick at all.
If it was possible they wouldn't have gone with the Galaxy Breaker as the level 3.

Goku black makes scythe, and he cuts a slash in reality.
Goku Black clones attack opponent, carrying them upward.
The clones knock them down, and Goku Black twirls his scythe.
Goku Black slashes again, and the slashes close.
Seems like a pretty standard Level 3 in length.
x5
That's still too impractical. The assists are too limited to one specific move & even if they could change their moves like in MVC 3 & Skullgirls it still wouldn't help since there's cooldown meter whenever an assist is used. I forgot to mention that that the LVL. 1-3 sounds pretty dope, but the planetary-universal Spirit Bomb just wouldn't work. You're being too faithful to source here. This isn't an arena brawler or whatever genre Virtual-ON is supposed to be.
That's a horrible comparison. Goku Black's LVL. 3 just uses an existing file & I seriously doubt that scythe is that hard to make.
I still wouldn't say Great Ape/Monkey is impossible to program in comparison to the Instant Kills from Guilty Gear. IIRC, there was also a giant mecha in Xrd's story mode.
The whole point of the Spirit Bomb is that it's Awesome, but Impractical. As long as you take the right opportunities to charge it, like when your opponent is knocked down, it shouldn't be a problem. Level 5's already get longer cinematics than Level 3's. Why couldn't my idea for Spirit Bomb just get a progressively longer cinematic the more bars are used for it? Say, about as much longer as it takes for Tenshinhan to fire another Kikoho, so about an extra second or so per bar. Also, not sure what separates a forward blast from a giant ball being thrown down. It's not like a bunch of characters don't already have that as a move.
I'm fairly sure that Pushover Media Cretic was referring to the time it takes for the move to execute, not the difficulty in making the assets work.
That being said, Pinky's level 3 is a pretty long one compared to the others in this game (even the other cutscene-esque ones like Beerus's or Trunks's). Oozaru might need to be longer than that (you'd need the initial hit, the Power Ball being thrown and blowing up, Vegeta looking at the moon and starting to transform, enemy reaction shot, then the Oozaru coming in and crushing the enemy). So I can see why that could be a factor.
That being said, I feel like the only thing that make's Pinkys extra models easy is that they've already made that model once. They still need to actually store the extra models during battle and call them in for animations at the proper time.
I wouldn't say that. There's any number of reasons why they might decide not to go with Oozaru other than it being actually impossible. They could simply not want to use it, or they could find that it doesn't fit the flow of the game like other moves he could have, or something else.
I mean, I did start this discussion by saying that Oozaru is what I would want to do. Not by saying that it's the only logical choice if it could be done at all.
I have a message from another time...
Do you have any idea how long those 7 secs can be? It wouldn't work & there's too much emphasis on the impractical rather than being awesome.
I'm seriously going to doubt Black's clone are different models from Black himself.
Don't they have to be? They're all on the screen at the same time, so don't they have to be separate, if identical, models?
I have a message from another time...I'm having hard time believing they started from scratch to come up with the clone models instead of just re-using Black's actual character model
And that's not what I'm saying they did, so that's that sorted.
I have a message from another time...I don't think that was implied. As I understand it, all of the clone Goku Black models have to always be on the field, regardless of if they're being used or not. They're probably shrunk down and inside Black's body.
That or they're loaded in when the super is used. Storing them offscreen is probably the better way of doing it, I imagine it.
I have a message from another time...Pushover's right: they're probably loaded in when the match starts and then either taken from offscreen or shrunk and grown when the super activates. That way the game isn't loading that many assets during the fight.

Man, the wait for Cooler & 17 just got a longer than has it to be.
The fourth Goku if you count Goku Black. The sixth if you count Goku Black and fusions.
I have a message from another time...Technically Goku Black isn't Goku but Zamasu, so...
Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...He's using Goku's body so he is a Goku.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."We now know for a fact that Spirit Bomb is not a Level 6 or 7 ultimate, just in case any of you were thinking it'd be something really crazy. We know this based on that amount of meter Goku's team has left while he's using it. He has 1 bar and a little bit extra. If I had to guess, it's probably a Level 5, if it's going to out-damage Blue Goku's Level 5.
Bardock is also a Goku and Gohan is half-Goku (and two Gohans means it's a whole Goku). Gotenks is one-quarter Goku and Cell has Goku in him.

This song needs more love.
I can't imagine that the LVL 3 is all that different from the Instant Kills
