CODE VEIN: God eater Developers take on the souls like genre

Well if they wanted to keep it from being too anime they should've completely changed the premise. It's anime as fuck.

Can't wait to lose god who knows how many hours in the character creator.

@Ultimate Pheer: It goes for a more Death Note-ish style with more realistic shaped eyes on default, so its not anywhere near as anime as, say, neptunia, or most NISA or Compile Heart games.

Also like that it isn't like the Souls games with it's setting being more modern.

It's closer to cyberpunk, rather than modern tbh. Still, post apocalyptic without a doubt. I have one question, why do we have a Laconic page about Code Vein, but not a full blown article...? I mean, we had one for Scalebound when it was a couple of cinematics.

I mean, anime is anime, whether it's full of blatant otaku pandering or not (and if this goes the same route as God Eater, then there'll be plenty of typical fanservice in the game in some fashion).

New trailer's up. Seems to be story based. Got a nice rockin' song to it; singer sounds familiar but hell if I could place him.

I was thinking of either Shadow the Hedgehog or Guilty Gear Xrd when I heard the song.

Something I'm not clear on, and was wondering if I simply missed it, but has it been confirmed what kind of structure the game has? Like, is it going to be an interconnected world like a Souls game? Standalone boss fights more like Monster Hunter and God Eater? Or more generally mission-based like Ni-Oh (I guess there's also a lot of over lap there with the Monster Hunter formula)?

Its interconnected like Traditional souls games.

Okay, I was already hype but that just boosted it a good 150%.

I wish they'd show us more character creation, so far we've only gotten bare, tiny glimpses.

Well it seems more like they killed her in the opening act, but remember that she is the so called Perfect Revenant. She will most likely be reborn after a not to long a while.

Far as I know, according to IGN's look on the character creation, it's going to be quite expansive.

They also seem to be going for some anime cutscenes too. Guess they accepted the whole "Anime Souls" motif.

The blue hair girl has a nice pair of “blood packets”.

I guess if you're going to be branded as "anime Souls" anyway, might as well go full anime.

As long as the gameplay is fluid and fun, I honestly couldn't care less how anime it is.
