Hmm... (I mutter to myself, then I turn to Marlon.) What do you think carnivals are like around here? For some reason I don't expect that they're going to be very much like the ones back home.

Huh. I have to share that sentiment. There isn't much technology here, but anything goes I suppose.

A lot of carnival rides are purely mechanical, not to mention old. *Jani posits* I doubt they have electric motors, but they can just as well have some buff Pokémon Flintstone the rides, right?

"Oh!" [I get pretty excited at the thought of really old-timey carnival rides.] "Ooh, they could have, like, one of those old, I think Swedish roller coasters! Or a bunch of them! Aww, man, that would be so cool!"

While all this has been occurring, Mila has stayed away from Jillian and her drama and is helping Koss carry some of the supplies. She can't help but take a few glances at the Jolteon, but she doesn't say anything for fear of making the situation worse. Nevertheless, there's a bad feeling in her gut whenever she thinks about the fight earlier. What if it wasn't all three of them? What if one of them had been badly wounded?

Somethin' on yer mind there? Mind if I take a look? Promise I won't go too far.

"Sure, I guess..."

[I start to get even more excited at the thought of explaining human technology to people who haven't had the chance to experience it. Looking back to the trio, I say] "I mean, if you wanna ask me, I can fill any of you in."

A good portion of this post takes place in the past because you guys were in posting overdrive again.

*The moment we return, I'm surprised by all the cordial reactions. I can't even say anything as I'm Finley embraces me, I'm elated. Here I was expecting... Well, I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it definitely wasn't a welcome this warm. It lasts a good while as the others converse around us, but then Finley lets go as Jani returns, accompanied by some Jolteon girl, Jillian. The air is uneasy and I'm not certain why... Until Hoard is mentioned. Who the hell does she think she is to disregard what happened there like that? And apparently she's a serial killer like Sushi? Who tried to kill Finley and Jani and... someone else? Haha, nope, not dealing with this shit. I just had my psycho ex-girlfriend torment me in my dreams from beyond the grave, I think I've had enough to do with death for the week. While nobody's paying attention to me, I lie back down in Eliot's bag and hope nobody notices. I'm in the bag for a while, wishing I knew where my ears were so I could cover them up, and at some point the others finally break off the conversation with Jillian and start heading toward... a carnival, was that it? And now we're talking about tech? Whatever, don't care, I've checked out for however long.*

"Oh, yea," [I butt in,] "I...well, I didn't really notice you had that. But yea, most of the ones we have run off fossil fuels, coal and oil and stuff like that. That's...basically long dead organisms that undergo extreme pressure and temperature changes thanks to the...the geological processes underneath the Earth's crust. It's kinda complicated, and a lotta people want to get us on just straight electricity, but most of us do with igniting gasoline vapors. Well, the engine does that."

*Jani's a little uncomfortable with Eliot's mention of fossil fuels* Probably our biggest mistake, as well. What Eliot mentioned, those are plentiful...like ridiculously so. And billions of people would use this energy simultaneously and...well, I hope you guys never need to face it because those can have just as much effect on the planet, if not more, than someone like Groudon.

Interesting...? (Delilah says, fascinated, but also very confused. Benji and Marsha seemed to have tuned out however and are talking about when the last time they went to a carnival was.)
