ITT: We Have All Become Pokémon

Rumors of my power loss are greatly exaggerated...but I'm on borrowed time hehe.

   SCIENCE!!!   

*Jani awkwardly yelled, as she slashed Bella with her dirt-claws during her prior aforementioned Aerial Ace. Jani crashes into the earth, creating a dirt plume in her wake extending well over a dozen feet, her unknowables merging into the ground as it happens. The Moonblast makes it through the plume, clearing out much of it in the process. It wings the top of Jani's head, which is apparent when the dust clears — a couple long gashes are visible atop her head*

*a dark aura surrounds...despite being taken beyond her limit, she sloppily shouts*

   I'LL NEVER GIVE UP!!! GROUND STRIKE!   

*though at this point she has no control over the Rock Slide. the rocks go out at various shallow angles, none of which have a chance of hitting Bella. One ends up hitting herself...luckily she takes it well on her wounded head, but it knocks her out cold*

IT'S A KNOCKOUT! WHAT AN AMAZING SPECTACLE, FOLKS!! *Birch is giddy with excitement, while Elm is poignant with logic* There was a clear difference in skill level here, but for what she lacked in power, Jani had in style...until the end. For a novice pit against a clear frontrunner for a spot in the professional circuit, it went about as well as it could have...but remember, folks...don't try to go over your limit. It never ends well.

Pixie Lust moves on to Round 4!

*Jani gets carted off to triage, courtesy of an Excadrill they just happen to have on staff at the arena*

(The trio and I simply watch in stunned silence. Delilah has a death grip on my arm.)

(As Jani descends into a state of unconsciousness I mutter under my breath.)

Again, what the fuck?

(I realize that based purely on this battle, that this is all too real now. THAT was her show of force.)

[I stare in silence. She overran herself, she was so determined...did the Aggression blind her?]

[I look to the opponent: Bella. It was a sanctioned fight, yes, but that was...beyond what was necessary. Did she fall prey to it, too, or...was it just some cocksure display of power, of dominance, maybe even dominance over the VA...]

[...I'm reading a little too deeply into this fight. Jani's injured, and Bella will be retreating back into her waiting area. I turn to Yalta, whispering,] "We need to go."

*Bella giggles to herself, ignoring the blood beginning to seep out of her wound.*

Belladonna: "Well, that's that. Suppose I should go see where Paddy is, now."

*Bella lowers herself closer to the ground and exits the arena through the gate she came in from.*

PJ: "Bella, hey, I'm over here, Bella, Bell... Aw, dangit."

*I sit down atop Niles' head, slightly miffed that Bella didn't hear me.*

Yalta: "Not in the mood to confront her right now? Alright, where do you want to go then?"

"What?" [I huff—this isn't the time to stall here—then continue.] "No, we gotta go after her...I know where she would've went."

(W-Where?)

Yalta: "Oh. I knew that. Right, let's go then."

*Yalta stands up, waiting for Eliot to lead the way.*

Who? Bella or Jani? (I ask.)

Bella.

(I say to Goobert in a hushed enough voice so Eliot and Yalta don't hear me.)

Okay... (I say.) Should Marsha, Benji, and Delilah stay here? I don't want them to get hurt.

Yeah.

[I look up at Marlon...I don't know what to do with him. If he follows...then so fucking be it.]

[I stand up and walk out of the stands towards the waiting area from yesterday. I clutch the strap of my bag as I walk.]

(I turn to the three and, through hand gestures, tell them that I'm going to go with Marlon and they need to stay here.)

Gotcha, big guy. Be careful... (says Marsha.)

(Delilah just sits there, looking almost sick with worry for our well-being.)

*a good 10 or so minutes after her defeat, Jani wakes up in triage, just as the aged Togekiss nurse is bandaging her head* WHAzza...sfibuh...err, AHH! *she backs up a little while saying* Don't kill me!! *before coming to her senses, realizing it's just the nurse*

*the nurse has a bewildered expression on her face, which swiftly relaxes into a more stern one* Ahem...we don't "fight to the death" in this arena...but I have to say, the reckless disregard for pokémon life I've witnessed during this tournament has me questioning the sensibility of this event. *she approaches Jani to finish the bandages*

*the nervous Jani looks around, prompting the nurse to say* Stop fidgeting! *to which Jani meekly says* sorry...

My opponent and I have a little...history. I guess we really did make amends...I knew I was going to lose, but I wasn't exactly sure how badly. You might disagree, but this went pretty well.

*the nurse is just about finished with the bandages as she states* Well it could have been much worse...going overboard like that. When you feel like fainting, faint. What came over you just then? *to which Jani is silent, embarrassed about letting herself get out of control. The nurse continues just as she finishes the bandages*

Well, you'll have more scars to admire when you're old, gray, and thin-furred... *the nurse floats over to a guard who hands her something, while continuing* ...provided you live that long.

*Jani can only meekly look down in shame, as the nurse floats back to her and puts Jani's beret on Jani's head* Seems like a practical accessory you have there — might as well get used to it.

*the nurse floats over to another patient, and Jani is left once again to her own thoughts*

She leaves the arena. Hopefully, the team could find and defeat Bella soon.

"...whatever you two wanna do."

[I pull on the section of cloth around my neck, adjust the shawl with my shoulders, the tension in them beginning to release. My breathing goes shallow as I face towards our destination...everything within me goes as 'normal'', despite everything without.]

[...not normal. I feel a sense of expectant patience, I've been expecting this, awaiting this. Yesterday was a disappointment, a gaff, a farce...today will not be so. Wrapped within my shawl, enveloped in red, enveloped in the groping tears and holes, I feel comfortable, at ease. It's like our first talk, any interaction we may have had, never existed...it's almost exciting to finally meet her.]
