ITT: We Have All Become Pokémon

Well, the prince is very emotional. I hear he's been that way for about a couple hundred years now. And when he gets really sad or angry, you'd better watch out, or there's no telling what can happen.

And the process of switching back is as simple as asking him to do so, provided you catch him in a good mood. If not...you'd better be careful, especially since he's been in a rotten mood all day.

(After I hear the daughter say that, I feel but only slightly relieved.)

[I stay silent for now as a result of Finley's outburst...considering what's she said, I think she's onto something. She may well get us out of this predicament sooner than I expected: I'll just let her work her...well, let her do as she...let her commence with her plan. Again, let's not fry my brain with semantic debates or whathaveyou.]

"OhmygodthisisthebestthingtheBESTTHING!!" Finley doesn't even bother to hide it this time. It was so easy! They go in, ask nicely, and it's over!

She begins jumping up and down excitedly, not really caring what happens.

Mila nods.

"Yeah, she's not here, though. She got attacked by some creature... we think it was a cat-like pokemon? ...Now wait a minute, what did you say about fighting? And why was there a flash of light back there when we found you? Actually, why were you hiding from us in the first place?"

Mila seems to be putting the pieces together, though she doesn't want to believe it just yet.

I hope my body doesn't switch. I mean, an out of body experience would be neat... but I could ask someone to hypnotize me...

Bryce, look at her. Do you see the eyes of the woman that you married?

Suddenly being forced to the ground, she looks up at Eliot, then at Marlon, notably embarrassed with herself as she explains, "d'ah phooey... I'm sorry. I've just always been interested in that heart thing. I never thought I would meet someone capable of doing it."

When she hears Bryce, it gets worse as Finley's eyes bulge again.

[A chill rushes down my spine as my gaze shoots up. I bring my hand from off of Finley's shoulder, then slowly turn around. The jig is up. The news is out. They've finally found us. Guess it's time to come clean. I brace myself...]

"...no, it...it isn't." [I lay off affecting that hoaky-ass accent.] "This is...this is Goobert." [I gesture towards him.] "I...I don't know what happened to get him and your...your wife switched up like this, but we're...we're trying to get him back to being a Goodra."

Oh...that explains a lot. I should have seen that the moment she, um, he passed out on the floor after I kissed him. (Bryce said.) Sorry about that, buddy.

I-It's fine. (I say, relieved that I don't have to keep fibbing to everyone.) Sorry we tried pulling the wool over your eyes. We didn't know how anyone would react to this.

(Then suddenly a look of realization hits his face.) Wait, did you say that he's a Goodra? Oh...oh no!

(I grimace. I did NOT want to hear that.)

General Worldbuilding

*two guards block the way to the prince (which the small entourage passed already), but the other guards around the castle will simply eye the party as they explore other parts of the castle (that the lounge group can reach)*

Mila is not letting go of PJ, and instead she finds a quiet section of the room and sits down while trying to get a good look at him and collect her thoughts.

"Hey, Light. I think PJ is having some struggles of his own. PJ, why don't you try and collect your thoughts, then maybe explain yourself? I really don't want to have to deal with more chaos in this group if I can help it."

If only there was someone else here to help keep order, like Finley. "Yeah, you'd want her back, naturally."
