Autumn stands up again, finally having regained her bearings at least enough to move normally, if not think normally. She waits for the rest of the group to begin to leave before following, trudging behind them a few steps, focusing all she has on putting one foot in front of the other and not looking back. Back is where her shame is, her mistakes. Maybe they won't catch up with her if she keeps walking.

"I'm sorry."

"Oh, uhh, I'm Mila, and that's Woodruff."

Mila only realizes that she hadn't introduced herself to the new humanmon once the others begin to introduce themselves. She's really not quite sure what to make of the situation, much less how their new companion is responding to it. She supposes it's better than some of the other reactions, but her mood isn't making her the most receptive to it. Thinking on it does give her another thought, however, and she moves back towards Woodruff to ask him a question.

"Hey, how much do you know about us and... where we're from? We weren't exactly the most effective at not spilling information back then. Not that we're really any better now."

   Nice to meet you too!   , I said to Mila and Woodruff.

[Old Eluant Catacombs]

Going back through the catacombs the way they came, the group eventually finds themselves outside in the ruins where all the Ghost Pokemon were staying. A bunch of them have gathered around, with Theodore standing closest to the group emerging..

"Well done", the Dusclops congratulated them, "I can feel already that whatever it was that was keeping us out is no longer in effect. We may all live within the deeper areas once again. Although I must admit... Some of us have come to realize it may be better for us to go seek out where we may have come from, or at the very least seek a different way of life.... Regardless, our regained living space here is much appreciated."

Theodore looked over the group and saw that Montresor and Notte were among them.

"Hah... Change of heart, I presume?", the Dusclops breathed out, "No hard feelings from us... We can only wish you the best of luck from here on out in the path you've chosen. And you..."

The red eye fixed it's gaze on the newly evolved Noriaki.

"Well, I could see already that you were not that different from us when you first came in, but it looks like you've come to embrace that more. Good, good..."

The Dusclops shuffled forward and explained, "Now then... I know not where you all may head to next, but I do know that it is getting late and there is a port town that should be accessible if you continue advancing westward, reach the edge of the island, and move north. Although perhaps some guidance may be in order..."

Leaving the Catacombs

Port town, huh? (Marsha says.) Fine by me. Haven’t gotten a good swim in lately, anyways...how are we gonna let Grigs, Squeaky, and everyone back at Holstown know we’re headin’ day way, though?

(My mind is still on the fight in the catacombs and how horrifically they all ended. I barely even hear or understand what Theodore and Marsha say and simply shrug in response.)

As we descend outward back into the main rooms of the catacombs I find myself slowly coming back into as normal of a state of mind as something like that could feasibly allow. A Port Town?

I mean, one or two of us can head back into Holstown or Narcia and let them know or...do you guys have any way to reach them? I really don't want to stay around here, Narcia, or Holstown much longer..

A swim, huh? Mmmm....-

(And finally the Togekiss, pointing a wing to Claude.) And I'm his ward, Zelda Pixis.

(Arsene continued, directing his attention to the group as a whole.) Now that we got that out of the way, I think we're about set up for tomorrow. If anyone's got anything else in mind, feel free to say something.

(At the midst of the conversation between a few of us and the bell, I caught on some terms such as "Nuzlocke" but I couldn't understand what they mean. I guess it's something my "home" didn't have among the constant snowfall and giant-ass crystal trees. But then again, we didn't have magic or walking animals either, so who am I to complain? I look to the others and they seemed preoccupied with other things to really focus on the conversation. Not like I'd expect them to understand it either, but you never know.)

   Now go up!!   , the Confuse Ray starts going upwards into the sky.

(By this point, though, it's too late and Dodie is sitting there looking as though her eyes are facing away from each other and Gene is sitting on the ground dizzy.)

Yeah, Kevin's right. Careful how you use that thing so you don't accidentally use it. (Cole says, trying to snap Dodie and Gene out of confusion. They eventually do (first Gene, and then Dodie) and stand back up.)

Walking back through the ruins...should this all feel new? Who knew finally being the one in the driver's seat would make you feel so...lost. Continuing through the cave, we make it back to the Dusknoir from before. And I'm all for heading to this port town to rest, but I feel like we're forgetting something...

"...what was his name...a Golurk, wasn't he?" It's on the tip of my tongue. I can feel it there on the other side of the wall, but I can't get to it...

Woodruff is about to answer Mila's question, but he sees the Confuse Ray in the periphery and makes the mistake of looking over, only too late realizing. He covers his eyes from the ray, but it's too late...despite Rainmaker sending it away, his vision is already spinning. He tries to blink the vision out, but to no avail...he ends up needing to rest on Mila, afraid of stumbling or hurting someone in his current state.

"Welll," he answers Mila, "I, I sshouuld pprobbablly quuiett dowwn..." After a moment to regain some sense, he continues. "Sso yoou arre frrom ssomeewheere eelsee...to bbe hoonesst, nooboddy toold mme annythhingg aboout yoou guyss. Not tthe guuild, nnot anny of yyou, noot no oone..."

Blissparce, To the Police Station

"...w-wait, I thought th-the murder took p-pl—" "It doesn't matter! The point it, we got the bitch!" Taylor B scratches the side of his neck, his attention drawn back to the unconscious Gliscor. Well, he supposes if there were any other collusion between a glir, he'd just have to ask at the jail.

"W-well, we d-don't really have a-any other l-leads for wh-who else was involved...but at l-least we got s-someone?"

Mila isn't looking in the direction of Rainmaker, so while she's fine with regards to the effects of the beam, she's initially slightly confused as to how Woodruff is suddenly acting. She does her best to help stabilize the Furret, but he is long and noodly, and she is short and... not.

"Hey, careful there. I feel like you should know something if you're coming along with us for now, but maybe now's not the best time for that. You don't seem like you'd be the type to sell us out or manipulate us, at least."

An Electrode bounces down the steps to meet the group coming back up.

"Hey guys..."

He surveys the others.

"How...uh...did it go?" Philly asked.

"Well, hopefully we can find the others, at least..." Dieter adds in.

[Old Eluant Ruins]

"Ah, hello Philly. It went well, I assure you", Noriaki said to the Electrode, not thinking of the fact that he hasn't seen him evolved yet.

"Oh but of course, we do have Drifloon here more than capable of delivering a letter, if you'd like", Theodore explained before looking over to Eliot, "Ah yes, Arthur... I fear the worst for him, just as before. Now that we are looking to branch out and rely on these ruins even less... I reiterate: There are no hard feelings if you must kill him to free him, whatever his affliction may be. Truth be told... He was far too devoted to his instinct of being a "guardian of the land", and his prideful nature did not help... Whatever it is you do, I will believe and respect that you did what you could."

"... I would rather it did not have to come to that, but I too fear the worst", said Notte, scratching the side of his head a bit, "... But we will try."

"Now then, we should write that letter and have it delivered posthaste... I shall take care of it, worry not", Noriaki announced to his comrades.

"Tomoko", Theodore called out to a nearby Mimikyu who appeared from hiding and approached, "Please show this gentleman to your papers and pens so he may deliver a message to his faraway allies."

"Y-Yes, right away", the Mimkyu stuttered out, leading Noriaki to a nearby small, ruined building.

"Only assuming he has improved, Noriaki should be done writing momentarily". Montresor noted.

A few minutes pass, and Noriaki rejoins the group with an envelope in hand. The Decidueye held it up to a floating Drifloon that grasped the paper.

"There should be a Raichu and other Decidueye among them", Noriaki explained before the Drifloon flew off in the direction of Holstown and Narcia.

"Well, I suppose I am ready to escort you whenever, then."

[Narcia]

Gerome took note of the Confuse Ray immediately and pulled his cap down to obscure it from his vision.

"Geez...", the Nidoking sighed, "Don't be so reckless with moves like that, especially during a situation. It could be a pretty massive mistake."

Catacombs

Well...there were ups and downs for sure. (Marsha says to Phil.) On da bright side, Nori's evolved and Monty and Notte are on our side now. (She motions to the two.)

(Following Nori sending a letter to those still in Narcia, Marsha nods at the small Mimikyu.) Well figure we probably need to get goin' as soon as we can. You lead da way, small fry! (She tells Tomoko.)

(I feel as though I'm regaining my senses after...that all happened. I shake my head and try to register what we are doing now. We're going to another town?)

Will this be a particularly long journey? (I can't help but ask.) It's just that it's been a very long day...

Indeed! (Gene agrees with Gerome.) One misused move could potentially be disastrous...especially in the battles that likely lie ahead of us.

But now we know that there's obviously something bigger afoot going on...who do we even talk to about all this next? (Mia asks.) Ramona sure as heck isn't going to talk. Who else can we even talk to to figure out what's really going on and who killed everyone else? Including my sister?

"Aw yes. Those are certainly words you just said right there. Hopefully these plot threads are all squared away. Anyways, come up, I have acquired medical transportation."

   Hahahahahahaha! Sorry!   ,I said with a grin on my bell face.

"You still gotta give me credit though, it was my first Pokemon move ad a Pokemon and it looked FANTASTIC! Do not critique me! I am a valuable asset to your group, and I'm probably a good strategist...because I play Pokemon Showdown...and suck in 90% of the cases... Still pretty valuable though!"

"That Furret is wobbling like a Wobbuffet and sounds drunk", I thought while snickering silently at the poor Furret.

"I wonder what would happen if I would use this on the magical Vespiquen witch-bitch...well she would obviously get confused...but if the portrayal of confusion in this world is like this...", I look at the Furret.

"...Then I'mma spam those on her and every 'mon who pisses me off...hahaha...MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!", I look at the group as a whole laughing evilly in my mind.

   Anyway, since I'm obviously part of your group now, could you please tell me what is this evil Vespiquen's name, S'il vous plait?   , I said.

So they haven't located him. It was a straight shot to the catacombs, if we could have seen him, we would have, so he's likely out there somewhere, hopefully not anywhere near our path. And if it does come down to killing him, well, that's that then.

"The sooner we get to somewhere we can get to town, the better. We should get a move on."

"Th-that's...a g-good question..." He looks to Amaranth for a moment. "W-we could go b-back to the c-crime scene again...see if th-there's anything we ov-verlooked..."

Another rough prod to the side. Amaranth... "Maybe we should just call it quits for today." Taylor nearly trips over himself; that's Taylor for ya, she guesses. "A-are you sure? D-don't you th-think that's irr-responsible?"

"Taylor, we're not the only ones on duty. We got Yeven and Petey out, and Rutgers comes in for the night shift. I think o capitão will understand if we decide to take the rest of the day off..."

Mila stops herself, realizing too late that her comment may have brought back up poor memories for everyone involved, particularly the Furret she has leaning on her. Something doesn't sit right with her about the new arrival, but she hopes that they'll calm down once they better understand the situation.

Something is wrong, deeply wrong, but Autumn can't understand what, much less vocalize it. She wants to hide from everything, maybe go to sleep and hope that everything is gone in the morning. But the town seems like a good choice, anywhere where she can forget about today's events.
