(I turn to Mila, but I'm not sure what to ask her.)

Mila watches as Goobert quickly moves in and saves Eliot with mixed appreciation and dejection, realizing how little difference her own efforts made in saving the Smeargle. As he recollects himself, Mila tries to think of something to say, but only manages to come up with the obvious.
"A-are you okay? I'm sorry, that was a stupid questions. Figures."
I need to update these things more often
At the heart of the world...
"I'm...fine now...thanks, guys..." [I let out a chuckle, the most I can do the dissolve the tension. I continue to breathe slowly, trying to gather myself...when I look down at myself and I see I'm all here.]

Answering Goobert's call for assistance, Serris, who was the closest to the door, slithers back outside, eyes WIDE.
"Huh?" he says emphatically, "What's going on out here?"
"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."

When I came out here, Eliot had fallen into the stream and I thought something was wrong with him when I pulled him out. I panicked because I didn't know what to do and called for help.
(I feel kind of embarassed)

At least you're fine now. It looks like you're all the way back to normal now!
(The temptation to give him a big slimy hug to celebrate is very hard to resist, but I manage to avoid doing so.)

Mila
Still wondering what Eliot was talking about before he tripped, Mila tries to get his attention despite the small crowd forming around him.
"Hey, Eliot, about what you were... uhh. Never mind, I should find something to eat."
Mila quietly moves off towards the bushes by the side of the stream, and begins searching for one with many berries on it to harvest.
How am I supposed to explain that I'm sorry to the others if I can't even bring it up in a group that small? I'm hopeless, and they might just leave me behind because of it.

Serris shrugged in response to Goobert's explanation of the situation. Or as close to shrugging you can get when you have no arms, anyway.
"No need to apologise to me. The water around these parts can get dodgy. You know how it is when there's no centralised sewer system, heheh... egh, that was foul. Now I'm apologising to you," he said, pointing at each of them in turn with a noticeable smile.
Noticing Mila go off to search through the bushes, the Serperior calls out to her for a moment. "If you're going to harvest these bushes, try looking for a Payapa or two; they're good for clearing your mind! Though if you do find some, I'd be very appreciative if you gave me some seeds while you're at it."
He swivels to face the floor, widely shaking his head. "This is what it's come to, now I've turned into a sidequest-giver from a Mumorpuger."

Mila
As Mila distances herself from the sound of the others, she notices that a sort of calm begins to overtake her. Sitting among the bushes brings a comfort that she'd been missing for a long time. Not having to do anything, and not worrying about other people; all she was doing was just taking in her surroundings and experiencing it in the moment.
Maybe I'll be fine after all. There's food and water here, and I can squeeze under the bushes to rest. There's always another way to survive.
After resting for several minutes, Mila comes back to her original goal and finds a bush with pear-shaped fruits hanging off of it. Picking only one at first to test the taste, she ends up eating until satiation and gathering the seeds in a pile beside her.
I can take these back eventually, but for now I think I'll rest here for a moment. I'll just remember this place for myself. I can see why they started a village here after all.

There is a faint sound of leaves rustling and wings flapping in the nearby shrubbery.

(The rustling leaves startle me. That didn't come from Mila's direction. I assume that it was one of our party members who tend to wander off.)

Finley thinks to himself. Geez, the day just started... "I see. Try to be careful around rivers. You were lucky someone was here... I don't want to think what would happen if you weren't so fortunate..."
Suddenly, he's interrupted by rustling in nearby bushes, as he approaches them... "Hmm?"

The sound stops abruptly, accompanied by the very audible noise of someone holding their breath in panic.
"Oh man, I gave away my position."
A tidy-looking owl Pokemon
◊ pokes their head out from the leaves.
"U-um, hello there", the Dartix said a bit nervously.

He jumps back in fear, from the sudden bird appearance, but recovers and lets out an awkward cough.
"Hi there. What are you you doing in there?"

The Dartix brushes his "hair" to the side with one wing and replies, "All I remember is that I just... Woke up and now I'm a Dartrix. I was just roaming around for a while looking for someone else."

[During the brief time I was stuck in the stream, a very unnerving feeling came over me. It was something I felt in those invisible parts of my body, the ones still in that zone...it felt like what I had felt when I had tried sticking my hand where my other hand was, but...all over, and it felt like my body was being pulled and thrashed about in different directions, as if it was coming apart, the unseen pieces of my body fraying themselves from those seen as it tried in vain to get out—]
[An immediate sense of calm comes over me when Goobert pulls me out. I try to catch my breath, I can still feel that dull ache...but it seems the rest of my body has returned because of that brief episode in the stream.] "I...I..." [I try to answer, but I'm still in a bit of shock...I don't ever want to go through that again.]
