A hard 6. It IS about the Vietnam war, and does have some darkness/emotion, but it's ultimately about a strong solider who makes it out alive.
Next up, while Pink Floyd's lyrics have been known for being dark and cynical I feel this song takes it the farthest, singling out still-living world leaders for execution.

Just another day in the life of Jimmy NutrinDefinitely a 7. Very political and it calls out the leaders playing games with people.

3.5 - This might've been somewhat eerie and unsettling if it could've settled on a particular thread of subject matter; its own painfully dense emphasis on metaphors ends up muting much of its impact.
The song is about the murders of young woman in Ciudad Juarez. At The Drive-In(and by extension,The Mars Volta) often use a lot of metaphors in their lyrics. The song does mean something, it's just not as straightforward as some of the songs on here.

That doesn't really change much if it's so vague you have to start googling to try and figure out what it's about. Metaphors tend to work better when they're not slapped together haphazardly as if to obscure more than they reveal.
I don't think ATDI's lyrics are slapped together and I don't think they're trying to be deliberately obscure but whatever. It's your opinion.

Simply writing everything off as just your opinion, bruh, reeks a bit of trying to deliberately shut discussion down, man.
I'm not trying to shut down a conversation. All I'm just saying is that you have your views and I have mine.

Anyways, the lyrics to your song are an 8 or 9. Pretty dark stuff.

Sheesh, level 11. Now that's messed up.
Onto a song by my favorite band:
Just another day in the life of Jimmy NutrinThat's a little implicit and redundant given we're disagreeing now, isn't it? The only time people very say "it's just an opinion" is when they have nothing else to offer but the obvious to avoid something that might challenge what they hold dear.
6 - A very poetic description of suburbanite middle class teenage youth disillusionment, worded in a way that captures the angst but perhaps not quite the full visceral impact of such.
8. Pretty dark just reading it, especially the beginning with the orphans being left on the streets.
Author.Either 6 or 7. It's a pretty gritty song about street life and trying to make money.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Stagger Lee
Spiral out, keep going.Sheesh, it's a 9, maybe even a 10. A Murder Ballad with lyrics worthy of Gangsta Rap.
Time for some good old Zep:
Just another day in the life of Jimmy NutrinAn 7. Lots of sex talked about in the song and it's pretty blatant.

9. Really hates God and blames God for what's happening in the world.
Kinda surprised no one's mentioned this yet.

“We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.” - Lewis CarrollThe Devil gleefully sings about all the atrocities he committed during the whole history of humanity, but since he committed them with the hands of willing mortals, nothing really differs him from us. We are the Devil. I'd say that's a 9.
Also, can I post a song in a foreign language if provide a good translation of the lyrics?
Spiral out, keep going.6 - Mournful and depressive but not particularly overbearing or forceful about it, enough that you can tell whomever wrote this was at a kind of peace with themselves when it was written.
It's an 8. It's pretty creepy.

A song about an exhausted releationship, and the sadness that comes with it. There's one f-word in the lyrics, so it's a 4.
