I would say Battle Axe by Deftones. The self-titled along with SNW are considered Deftones' Worst albums. However, there are some good songs on the self-titled album and that song is great.
Agreed. The self-titled album just had the misfortune of being released after the all-time favourite White Pony. I think it's a very good record even compared to the predecessor. I mean, "Needles And Pins" has three notes and three chords in it and still manages to be engaging, that's gotta be worth something.
As for me, I feel the need to stick up for the one Queens Of The Stone Age album that a lot of people don't like very much - Era Vulgaris. While some consider it barren and oversimplified, I think it is a nice return to krautrock influences of the earlier stuff, where Josh would make a nice hook using just one string. And then there are other cool ideas, like the deliberately out-of-tune guitar on "I'm Designer" or the ultimate hard-rock earworm of "3's & 7's". It feels like this album was made to never let the listener get too comfortable, and for the most part it succeeds.
Nonsense is better than no sense at all."I Love America" by Alice Cooper.

Great satire of Eaglelanders, without being too vicious.
I agree with you on Era Vulgaris there. I also think that "I'm Designer" has some of the best lyrics to any song ever.

simple as"All Alright" by Zac Brown Band. My favorite song from my favorite band, but it was their worst performing single to date. And it was off a fantastic EP produced by Dave Grohl.
"That's the Way I Wanna Rock 'n' Roll" by AC/DC, in my opinion.

Hey.For some of my fav bands, classic rock guy here. Going by fan acclaim and popular acclaim. Queen- "Son and Daughter", "Modern Times Rock And Roll", pretty much anything off of Queen II, "Flick of The Wrist", "You Take My Breath Away", "The Millionaire Waltz", "Fight From The Inside", "More Of That Jazz", "Dead On Time", the entire Flash Gordon album sans the title track, "Dancer", "Body Language" (Most say it's their worst), "Action This Day", "Gimme The Prize", "Khashoggi's Ship", "The Hitman". I could go on.
Rush- Pretty much anything off of the debut, "Best I Can", "Beneath, Between, and Behind", "In The End", Everything off of Caress of Steel, "The Twilight Zone", "Tears", "Lessons", "Cygnus X-1", "Cinderella Man", "Madrigal", "Circumstances", "Entre Nous", "Different Strings", "Witch Hunt", "Chemistry", "Countdown", "Losing It", "The Enemy Within", "Limbo", "Secret Touch", "Caravan", "The Garden"
Pink Floyd- "Lucifer Sam", "Mathilda Mother", "Flaming", "Take Up Thy Stethescope And Walk", "Chapter 24", "Let There Be More Light", "Remember A Day", "See-Saw", "Cirrus Minor", "Ibiza Bar", "Green Is The Colour", "Main Theme", "Up The Kyber", "Dramatic Theme", "Fat Old Sun", almost anything off of Obscured By Clouds, lots of stuff from Final Cut and Momentary Lapse. I could go on.

THAT CAT'S SOMETHIN' I CAN'T EXPLAAAAAAAIIIIIIINNNNN.
Great song.
I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception.HELL YES. I love that song. His whole Space Oddity album is fantastic, but that song in particular is a highlight for me. I love it so much I made a cover of it.
Since we're talking about underrated songs, I feel like some songs by soundgarden can count.
Let Me Drown-This is one the best openers to an album ever. The guitars are fantastic, Chris Cornell's voice amazing, and the chorus is catchy as hell.
No Wrong, No Right-This song is from their second album, Louder Than Love. This is a great song. I love how quiet the verses are, and how the chorus is really explosive.
Mind Riot-Definitely one of my favorite songs from Bad Motor Finger. I really like the lyrics(they're about Andrew Wood, lead singer of Mother Love Bone) and the general feel of the song. It's so melancholy.

And, of course, Paul's bass leading the procession, so to speak.
Yes, can't forget that! That song is near-perfect in every way.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. The backwards vocals were so revolutionary for their time.
At the same time though, I find it hard to talk about Beatles songs when discussing what's underrated. One of the only tracks I find is never mentioned is the geniusly composed Not a Second Time.

"If you spend all your heart / On something that has died / You are not alive and that can't be a life"For underrated songs, I can name a few by Alice In Chains:
- What The Hell Have I
- Whale and Wasp
- It Ain't Like That
- Rotten Apple
- Hate to Feel
- Shame In You
No one talks about Neutral Milk Hotel's "Ghost" but it's probably one of my favorite songs on the record
"I could eat a knob at night" - Karl Pilkington"Whale and Wasp" was my favourite track on that album when I was a kid.
I dunno, that one was always a favourite of mine and my friends, particularly how it leads into "Untitled", but NMH Discourse tends to be... lacking. My pick for them would be "You've Passed", personally.
I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception. My Dream Girl Don't Exist isn't really discussed and yet it's in my top 3 NMH songs.
"If you spend all your heart / On something that has died / You are not alive and that can't be a life"I don't like "Rain" because I have perfect pitch, and I can tell that they sped up the vocals and slowed down the instruments.
It could just be that it's not memey enough to be discussed when I hear about them
"I could eat a knob at night" - Karl PilkingtonMy first year out of college the band I was in did a show and we had this sort of mid-set section where different subgroups played different things and my best friend and their brother covered that song on twelve-string guitar and drums. It was good.
I have pretty strong pitch and I like out-of-tune/pitch-bent music, personally.
In my experience with NMH fans who aren't in it for the memes or the P4k prestige, the typical favourites are "Holland 1945", "Oh Comely", "Gardenhead/Leave Me Alone", "Song Against Sex", "Engine", "The Fool"... and people who really wish there was a full-band studio version of "Ferris Wheel On Fire". If you want to be an über-hipster, "All the Colors of the Rainbow" is a good answer.
I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception.Queensryche has lots of excellent songs that are unfortunately slighted: "Prophecy", "Child Of Fire", "Nightrider", "Blinded", "Warning", "En Force", "No Sanctuary", "London", "I Dream In Infrared".

2018 Bird of the Year WINNER
What I mean by this is a song that you listen to and go, "Hey, why don't people talk about this one more?"
One of my big ones is "And Your Bird Can Sing" off The Beatles' Revolver. The album as a whole gets kind of ignored in light of more famous ones like Sgt. Pepper's or Abbey Road (though it does have its fans), but this song in particular is criminally underrated IMO. The lyrics are well written, the guitar sounds great, and the bass line is AWESOME.
Another song by a favorite band of mine that gets ignored a lot is "39" by Queen. It's a bit different from some of their more famous hard rock stuff, but it's a cool song about space travel and lost love.
What are some of yours?
