I used basically the same team, except with Laegjarn over Nowi.

I used Tibarn, Elincia, Leanne, and Myrrh.

Flier Emblem cheeses the map.

I think the mega whales and their consistent Null-C setups are having a pretty strong influence on the top tiers. Veronica, Firesweep Brave Lyn and other Firesweep cav melees are falling out of style, being replaced by raw power in chain insta-Special teams (as in, 4-5 units starting fully charged). This, however, leaves them vulnerable to ye olde Vantage shenanigans, especially if they run AoEs. Been having too much fun with Bolt Tower 2, Fallen Takumi and L!Hector, with Black Knight more recently joining in on the fun. The best part is that Black Knight's Res being mediocre-ish, even with bonus stats from Fort level and bonus unit, that he takes damage from L!Azura. This means she just YOLOs out to fight him instead of Singing someone. It's hilarious.

Doing Forging Bonds, aka Lugh Puts His Experience Dealing With Edgy Red Units To Work, and Thea has to break it to him that pegasi only accept the fairer sex as riders.

Lugh: Boy, Ms. Ryoma sure is butch!

Yeah people from the Binding Blade are going to be thoroughly confused when Shigure et al fly by. I guess Illia didn't try a wide variety of potential candidates for pegasus knights and just sort of saw that since the first one was female all of them needed to be.

I figure Elibian pegasi are legitimately that picky. When some continents have people who turn into animals and others don't, pegasi gender preference is a pretty minor difference.

Even the pegasi want him.

Fateslandia pegasi are noted as not being regular pegasi.

Then again, They don't look any different from regular pegasi because IS doesn't actually care.

And the translation team didn't even care enough to translate it to Tenma instead of Pegasus, further adding to the confusion.

As far as translation goes, Tenma just mean flying beast, ergo pegasus.

Horse. Sky horse.

But the point is that it's written in Japanese to signify its connection to Hoshido. It's like how myrmidons are suddenly being called samurai.

From what I've been told by people who played the Japanese version, the script there at least tried to make a distinction between the two terms.

Yeah, everything Hoshido in Fates is written in Japanese, even if it's normally written in English in the rest of the series.

It is kind of a shame we never got Pegasus Knights from ladies-only lands to react to the sight of someone like Subaki or Shigure.

I don't think Pegasus Knights were ever supposed to be ladies only, so much as generally composed of women.

Thracia 776, which introduced the idea that Pegasus Knights are predominantly female, does not rule out the possibility of male Pegasus Knights, it just says they are rare.

Given what the promotion trees are like in the original Archanea games, it's possible that Michalis used to be a Pegasus Knight.

Not only was Michalis, a pegasus knight, but in FE 3 the enemy pegasus Knights were male and used Michalis's rider sprite. Here's an image.

Internal data even labels them male.

I mean it could just be something as simple as "the rider needs to be light, most men are too heavy."

To be fair, Lugh never got to actually try it (despite the pegasus apparently really liking him). Could be that pegasi only liking light riders got assumed to be pegasi only liking women.

EDIT: Also, he could barely ride a regular horse without nearly killing himself. Putting him on a pegasus sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.
