Speaking of doggos, that reminds me. Would be cool to get Volug, though I wonder how they'd deal with him. Unlike Leanne, he only speaks the Ancient Language, but is a pretty funny Deadpan Snarker in RD if you know what he's saying. I imagine that's the biggest hurdle from getting him in, and he's half of the wolf laguz we were introduced to, so I imagine Nailah's gonna be alone for a good while at least.

x2 incoming Gareth reveal on the next banner to knock us all off of our seats. Would be on the same level as the Duma reveal, except with 99% of people going, "Wait...who?"

Real talk though, would be cool to get Ena so I could throw my adorable pink dragon at things and watch her destroy. Plus if we got Rajaion not only could they have a cute reunion moment in the paralogue that they come with, and they could be an adorable dragon Battle Couple too. Plus Rajaion would actually get to be a real character instead of Ashnard's horse

I assumed Wolfskin was more "Wolf's Kin" than "Wolf Skin".

While it's still unclear how dragon laguz will be handled, I still think they'd be treated closer to dragons than to the beasts. Most notably because breath weapons hit Res by default.

That said, since basically all of a Beast's special transformation powers come from a long paragraph stapled onto their weapon, it'd be pretty simple to just make a Dragon weapon with the same transformation powers stapled onto it. They wouldn't get the specific "Hone Beasts" bonuses, but they'd still have synergy in beast/dragon teams.

Mm. I'd expect the transformation mechanic to stay on the beastie boys and girls, since that keeps the weapon type mechanically distinct. Like how you don't really see dagger debuffery on other weapon types.

In that case I'd expect it to just be Wolfkin, without the S.

Oh, hey, we're getting a forging bonds event too? Didn't realize! I guess IS really wants us to cuddle up to the furries.

Stats◊ Panne's weapon gives her +3 to all stats if she's near beasts/dragons or by herself and has cav effectiveness. She's also cavalry. Chill Spd at 5 star, Def smoke at 4 star

I think Panne might be the first cav effective unit that is actually pretty good.

Also Velouria is faster than I expected.

EDIT: Forgot the stats. Also Duma's MHB map is in the datamine again for some reason.

So, Kaden's probably the demote now. I'm a little ticked because that means Velouria went from a possible demote to Arena whale bait. :/

Ditched out 80 orbs, since I kinda want all Beasts I went with 4 full pulls. Got a Kaden. Meh, would've preferred a Velouria.

The game seems to hate me now.

Alright, got four Selkies! That means up to +3!

I have to decide between +Atk and +Spd. +Atk seems kinda necessary, but +Spd means she's super hella fast.

Second, one of my pity breakers was Kliff, which means Def/Res Fortress soooo...

Would it be a good idea to give Selkie Def/Res Fortress and a Res Fortress Seal? That's -5 Atk, but +11 Res on top of a base 35 Res. Meaning she makes up her Atk detriment in bonuses alone and +5 to the rest of her stats assuming she's fighting someone with 38 Res.

Well, as you note the problem is her buff maxes out with a +16 difference in Res, making anything more wasted. I pulled a +Res version with one of my free tickets, and with Fury and a basic +Res seal that puts her at 45 Res. Which means she gets her full bonus on anyone with 29 Res or less, ie: the vast majority of all melee units. Anything more would just make her a specialized armor slayer (since they tend to have like 40/40 defenses these days), but frankly I'm not sure she'd be able to hurt those units anyway. And her skill has no effect whatsoever on ranged units with high res like Micaiah or Deirdre. Not that she needs any help to kill them with that paper defense they have.

That said, Fortress Def/Res is probably worth it if only to cover up her awful Def. Going for the seal too seems like overkill though, imo.

Surtr is neutral, Keaton is -SPD +RES (terrible on anyone except if they've got a Brave weapon), Kaden is +HP -DEF (so bascly neutral)

So, new story beats. I liked the newest chapter a decent amount. Also, this line from Gustav:

Spoilers for the chapter. Incoming Heroic Sacrifice from Gustav...yeah, I saw that one coming. Damn, I actually kinda liked him and his dynamic with Alfonse, since FE protag dads rarely stick around, and when they do, they're not as strict as Gustav was with Alfonse. I wish we got to see their relationship explored more... But looks like this is leading up to Alfonse actually ascending the throne and being king? It's a gacha mobile game, so I'm not exactly expecting a ton, but...I guess it's an interesting turn. Man, I really like Alfonse. I wish he was could get the development of a main series lord.

Some minor stuff I noticed: I think this is the first time enemy color bows are showing up, unless I've just been super unobservant. Red bows and blue bows. We've had them on our side for a while, guess it's finally high time they appeared on the enemy side. Plus looks like the cavalry beasts are just as allergic to trees as the people on horses.

I'm not going to feel sorry for Gustav because he's kind of a hypocritical windbag. Alf hasn't been on the front line since I got this game, and I've been fighting the forces of Hel with Surtr and Grima.

Actually, that's been the Order of Heroes' strategy—not Gustav's. Apparently Gustav normally leads a large group of unnamed elite knights that was threatening enough to cause Surtr's forces problems during the Book II invasion. Of course, now that Alfonse is taking over, those guys are just going to vanish into thin air, never to be heard from again.

And nah, we've fought coloured bows before. They're still generally pretty rare, though. IIRC, they mostly just show up in GHBs/LHBs, but III-1-2 brings a generic red bow to the fray (alongside a green dagger).
