Saw the next chapter in full. OK, honestly? Too quick of a climax. Spent all that time dillydallying and- bleh, you know what? I think we all know the deal. No need to repeat.

Believe it or not, I was moved by Helbindi more than Laegjarn or Laevetain. Unpopular opinion: I don't think Laegjarn is any better than her sister. Sure, she's a Camus, and those contrast heavily when your boss is as generically evil as Surtur, but... what exactly did she do other than give a good first impression?

Meanwhile, you have Helbindi who's doing everything for his folks, and even after losing them, he mustered the strength and agency to get Ygrl and Veronica out of captivity, putting his life on the line. There's also the meta fact he's a complete subversion of FE's most tired trope.

Yeah, Helbindi's gotten about as much development as all the other new OCs combined. He's definitely my favourite of the bunch. I might actually have to pull for him. >.>

Yeah, Helbindi is definitely the stand-out character of the bunch. Honestly I don't know anyone who would disagree with that, so framing it as an unpopular opinion is a little odd to me.

Well, it's the Internet, where huge tits and revealing outfit > anything else, so if it came down to a popularity contest, Loki would still probably trounce Helbindi.

I mean I think Loki has far more potential than Helbendi. He has more character development but Loki could easily become way more interesting if they put the effort into her.

@Clarste: Actually my unpopular opinion was that I don't think Laegjarn is as well-written as people say. Everyone knows Helbindi is.

I don't see them doing more with Loki other than being troll who loves chaos. But, hats off if they manage to keep her a Big Bad. Last female villain with that kind of cred was Radiant Dawn's final boss.

She has more potential because she's largely a blank slate, which is generally not a pro for a character who has had as many appearances as she has. All of Helbindi's moments have been quite pointed and powerful. Post-initial-Tempest Loki has basically meandered around progressing nothing other than how often she's showed off her cleavage.

Honestly I don't see much potential in Loki. She's the kind of schemer who's loyal to nobody and doesn't seem to care who gets hurt in her schemes. There's really not many places you can go from there other than exploring her thus far unknown motivations, but that wouldn't get you beyond a Helbindi type character at best.

That said, Helbindi basically completed his arc and doesn't really have room to grow from here either. Which is fair, because he's probably dead?

High chances, though the last two times he supposedly died didn't stick, so who knows?

Well, to be honest I see us moving on to Book 3 by basically forgetting that any of this ever happened, other than maybe Fjorm standing in the back coughing during Askr scenes. So regardless of whether Helbindi is dead or alive, I don't really expect to ever see him again.

The solution is the hero just needs to go get Fjorm a inhaler and a bunch of Throat lozenges.

Yeah, I doubt Helbindi is alive. He had to hold the line against Surtur, and those sounded like some pretty definitive final words.

Considering we then encountered Surtr, I think it's safe to assume Helbindi is dead. It's not like Surtr would have just turned around and left after threatening him with death.

I liked the Musspell OC's (even Surtr, he did his job as an intimidating wall of armor and fury you want to kill) but I don't like Loki. She's just a walking pair of gigantic nearly-exposed tits with literally nothing else going for her. I know fanservice characters are abundant in Fire Emblem but usually they at least have some kind of substance to them instead of just shoving their breasts in your face every time they appear.

Anyway, pulled on Nohr banner. I now understand the pain of units sharing a color, got a crappy Silas when I wanted Ophelia.

On the plus side, I also got Lukas and Setsuna with perfect IV's. I needed good copies of those two.

Eh, I'm not a fan of Loki but I don't think she's exceptionally shallow or anything. It's clear to me that the writers were shooting for the Magnificent Bastard archetype that's popular for both male and female characters. I don't think they quite succeeded, but I don't think they intended to rely solely on fanservice either.

I agree. Book 3 is really gonna make or break Loki.

Def is a superbane. Not like it matters against DC and LB cuz D E F + 2 0.

Res just means she can fight mages better now.

Def being a superbane sucks (-HP would have been way better), but at least +Res means she can Def Ploy literally anyone with 41 Res at base.

Hopefully we get a Res version of Heavy Blade one day so she can Glacies everyone consistently.

Definitely not, since she's spent a decent chunk of her screentime disguised as people with less cleavage. Which is when I tend to find her most entertaining.
