Arena Assault has gotten a lot more interesting now that I'm trying to max out my blessings bonus. Got to be careful in not spending my Zelgius killers when I don't need to, and Fjorm is starting to be annoying when I don't have enough axes to easily beat her with.

Daily free pull got a 4* Wrys but I already had like 4 Kleins squirrelled away for foddering/potential merging if bored so no big loss
I was guessing that after the Rite of Frost chapter that all the kingdoms had dragons but I didn't expect it to be dropped that casually in this paralogue. can't wait for all of them to reveal themselves then immediately get marketable human forms for the gacha

Another Klein banner but there's no colorless so pulled for green. Got a 4* Libra instead.
Free summon from the Festival banner is Sanaki. Don't want to push my luck when the other summon is Sakura.

Pulled Festival Elincia within about 40 orbs. I wanted Micaiah too though...
222 orbs, Siegbert, Gray, Alm, and Lyn later...finally got her.
Siegbert and Gray will probably be foddered, Alm merged(still -Atk tho), and Lyn I dunno.
My free pull was Lucius.
Well, I needed to save for Veronica anyway.
Got Micaiah in about 20 orbs. Gonna save up for a while.

I tried sniping for Xander, got dancing Elincia after over 200 orbs. At which point I didn't even care what I got, I just wanted to get out of there.

I got Dancing Ryoma in my free pull. Still would like to have Elincia or Micaiah, so I might try again once I save some more orbs.
Dancer in the free pull, by which I naturally mean Ninian in the Death Blow banner. Why have both of my Ninians come from random free pulls?
Edit: Was prepared for a nightmare of sniping reds to get Micaiah, but got her really quickly. +Hp/-Res, which isn't ideal, but superboon and not -Atk, so I'm good with that.

Upon reflection and thinking about her color/stats, I think Elincia is actually totally useless against dragons? She has weapon effectiveness, but her defenses are terrible so she’d just die on the counterattack. And even with effectiveness I’m not sure she could get through a dragon’s ridiculous def stat before she dies to the second counter.
She does get WTA against blue, but the blue dragons are too fast to double and she certainly won’t oneshot them with 29 atk and a 12 mt dagger.
Yeah, dragon and armor effective daggers don't seem to be that useful except maybe for Air Kagero.

Elincia's base kit can get her 40 Spd at neutral Spd. That's definitely fast enough to double blue dragons (my Nowi +10 has 31 Spd at neutral Spd; M!Kana has no choice but to tote around 33 neutral Spd and F!Corrin only has 34), especially if they're of the Steady Breath Quick Riposte build because they want to get doubled in most cases for their shenanigans. That said, she will need that double to win with her base kit, since it gives her 46 Atk, which is 81 after WTA and effectiveness (versus 95 bulk for Steady Breath Nowi with Def refine). The good news is that she shouldn't die on the first counter unless she's attacking into a TA dragon (in which case, why are you doing this?). She's got 54 EHP, which means any blue dragon will need at least 64 Atk to kill her. M!Kana ain't reaching that and F!Corrin has notoriously low Atk. Nowi gets a whopping 53 as a +10 +Atk. So, yeah, Elincia counters blue dragons. That's about all she can do, though, since she's in a much more precarious position against green dragons without the extra bulk from WTA.

Which is fine by me, that's another green I can devote to killing a different enemy.

Yeah, she'd make a pretty awful generalist in terms of killing stuff. Would basically need to go TA3 Lancebreaker to not get ruined by the likes of Effie and Hardin. Granted, refreshers usually aren't the first in to a fight, so it might not be a big deal if she's backing up a green axe and then covers anti-blue dragon if said axe is more of an armour killer.

First summoning session on the new banner gave me four trash units and, surprisingly, a Dancing Lobster.
+Spd -Def, which is... actually optimal.
I'm surprised. Usually I never get seasonal units off these banners, let alone on the first session. And optimal to boot.

Honestly, this paralogue bothered me due of how suddenly Loki popped up and "Hey, we're under contract now". It's just that we have no real scale how powerful we are meant to see the antagonist being for them to just do stuff like this.
Also the fact that the paralogue just suddenly decided to PLOT makes me think that we're just about done with Book II. Most likely it will just have some clean-up of saving Veronica, stopping the Rite of Flames, some stuff with Ylgr and Loki and then GTFO from Muspell.

Funny moment: so my blessing stock is actually getting legitmately low due to me trying to cover so much in AA. Looked at my specialists, trying to decide who really deserves a blessing. But, I really can't justify it. They're too specialized for what I've got in resources, even if they super hard counter what I built them to counter. Following that, I found myself eying many of the spare 5*s I've been sitting on. Some of them have rare skills to pass, so I'm either on the fence (the main one being horse Chrom, since Chill Def is valuable, but I can also sacrifice 20k feathers to consume a promoted Walhart instead) or not considering them. However, there's a bunch who really don't pass on skills all that essential, yet have strong stuff in their base kit (like Alm). I've come to the conclusion that building rather than fodder or merge, it's worth building 2-3 copies of key units like Falchion users, cavalry mages or fast axe users so I always have them available during any season. >.>
