> Cool-kyou Shinja
Had to look that up, then it hit me, why the art style seemed familiar. Would be nice to see cameos from his other works.
Fafnir needs to show up sooner rather than later.
Y Ou can't go wrong with Kyoani.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Oh yeah, the second episode is already out.
Kobayashi's face when she realizes that a dragon has better people skills than her.
At this rate Tooru will become a local legend.
Kana is seriously cute, even for this series. And is powered by electricity.
That's some impressive fight scene. Dragons sure play hard. Curiously enough, in the manga they referenced the Matrix, when talking about strong humans from Earth, but I guess they couldn't get away with it in anime.
Tooru sure knows a lot about human world. Most of it is not quite right but still.
It's amazing the swing didn't break under them.
He's the author of most of my favorite 4komas.
The discussion about the dragons' dimension made me wonder if this is a reverse isekai series? What Tohru mentioned about her universe this episode has the feeling of Medieval European Fantasy.
Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaIt actually does feel like Hataraku Maou Sama in how the characters are transported into the human world.
Also the animation this epsiode is very nice, it overall makes for a better episode than the first. Also that ED is stuck in my head now.
Episode 2: The loli appears!
I started reading the manga before the series aired, but never caught up. I was up to the part where they go to Comiket.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot. It's a reverse isekai. Seems like their world is typical medieval fantasy Europe. It's good to know that they have superpowered humans over there. It explains why these powerful dragons get scared of people.
It was a good idea to break up the story into little segments. I'd have preferred smooth scene-to-scene transitions, but this works.
The "playing" scene was great and compounds on my wish to have Kyo Ani make an action series. There was Kyoukai no Kanata but that sucked; Chuuni's delusion battles were better.
Not too fond of Kanna at the moment, but I like how she mixes up the dynamics. Kobayashi teaching her common sense was cute, if not entirely accurate. We need more of these dragons-in-mundane-world gags.
Young Kanna is quick to throw out insults...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Myriad Colors Phantom World had some pretty good action scenes, and damn, it looked gorgeous.
Huh, I forgot about Phantom World. That sucked even worse than Kyoukai no Kanata though.
I actually liked both Phantom World and Kyoukai no Kanata very much but anyway back to Maid Dragon.
I thought the episode was better than the first, feeling a bit more coherent than the previous. I like the fury electric loli dragon and I agree that play fighting scene was awesome.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellIt was better than most action series` tbh.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid was animated by Kyo Ani and it was glorious.
That one slipped my mind. Yeah, it's real good! So clearly Kyo Ani needs to make more shows like it

They should do more action, that I agree with.
I'm actually also surprised to hear your opinion on Phantom World. I thought it was okay, but a low point in Kyo Ani's repertoire. Only Tamako Market and Free! would be ranked lower in my books, and I consider both of those stories to have better writing, pacing and direction. (Only show of theirs that I haven't watched is Kanon)
I'm surprised as well, since I loved pretty much everything about the show. It's like among top 5, maybe even top 3 of Kyo Ani productions.
Huh. Sounds like it would be an interesting discussion, but this is not the place to have it.
I don't know how to rerail the topic, help
Kyoani might do little spurts of action well I don't think they could do a full series nowadays. a lot of their talent is set elsewhere, mostly comedy I think for their main studio and manservice for their Osaka studio.
I for one am glad they are channeling a little Nichijou into this though.

I do think that the studio is okay for the type of story that Maid Dragon is: slice of life with rare bursts of manic action.
I'm just happy to see a lesbian character in their works, especially after Sound.
It might be shallow of me, but I do feel the setup is enough of a twist on the usual lazy normal person meets harem of exotic monster humans. Here it helps not everyone wants the protagonist that way, and she's a bit older than most examples. A bored office worker who likes to get really drunk every now and again, apposed to the usual highschool boy.
"No will to break."I would not get your hopes up on that, everything here is set up to be very Class S and the door will get slammed hard by both sides at the conclusion to the work.
it's not really class S since Tohru explicitly wants to fuck Kobayashi. i would say that's a step up from tee-hee holding hands and blushing you can find in lots of moe shows.
Another adaptation of a Cool-kyou Shinja series, but for the first time in full length. As with all his series it's quirky and hilarious but can be deeper than expected.
The first episode was pretty good, and it seems they are sticking closely to manga now that they have the time. Tooru complete misunderstanding about human world and her wanton use of power never fails to amuse me. And then of course is Fafnir who steal every scene he's in, even if it's just his voice.
As spoiled by the preview we'll get another dragon in episode 2. Gonna be fun.
