If we don't get Rule 63 Ryu then what's even the point?
Also half of the fun was in Easter Eggs and in-jokes. It's not entirely about the Male Gaze.
(it mostly is tho)
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaIn MVC 2 I remember how upset I was when Rogue's Power Drain didn't function the way it did XVS.
Even if that was pretty much impossible in hindsight.
Iunno. I think they could of made that one work as it did in X vs SF. It was mostly just her copying projectiles and I don't think they drew too many more sprites for her, nor did they record any new lines.
If Kirby can copy everybody's neutral B in Smash Rogue should be workable in a Versus game with fewer characters. Nowadays they can even have her call all the attacks, since everyone calls everyone else's name when they tag them anyway.
Oh yeah, Rogue in XVS was able to use everyone's specials.
Is there another Capcom character who could do that?
Mega Man, maybe?
They kind of joke about him jacking Onslaught's projectile in MVC and power copying is kinda his thing. He's ass in most versus games so I'd be down with something to punch him up.
Mega Man or X with a power copying mechanic would actually be awesome, though I wonder if that's the kind of thing Capcom would only do with a small roster.
Megaman's MVC 1 ending is still my favorite fighting game ending of all time.
X4
Does Marionette & Shadow count? They're shapeshifters apparently. I also wanted to say Seth, but I didn't know if he counted or not.
X5
That's incredibly good point, but I'm drawing blanks on what Rogue can mimic when it comes Cap & Iron Man. Also, I'm still under the impression making/drawing a bunch of new sprites were incredibly difficult. Even if I keep seeing all sorts new sprite animation online.
I still can't believe Rogue doesn't uses Lightning Kick when she absorbs Chun-Li.
Don't do that. Don't give us hope.
Also, isn't Capcom going to have two mystery games playable at Jump Festa....they could potentially...
Also, I was gonna make a video on this, but there's no time. There are two things regarding Mega Man in these VS games that are odd:
If you consider the core Five Mega Men as Classic, X, Legends, Exe, and Starforce, Starforce is the only one to have never been playable in any Capcom fighting game. Exe at least got to be in Onimusha Blade Warriors. As much as I want Mega Man Exe and Bass Exe, we need a Starforce rep: Geo, Harp Note, Gemini Thunder, Rogue, anyone!
Speaking of which, there's a Mega Man archetype that's missing in the Vs Games. We've got
- The Blue Guy: Classic, X, Legends
- The Red Guy: Zero
- The Female: Roll
- Tron's somewhere in between
- The Rival:.....yeah we're missing one. We've never gotten either versions of Bass or Rogue, I've heard Vile is really cool. I'd argue the villain since people have pointed out how Dr. Wily would make sense as a character, but its weird Sigma is the only major Mega Man playable villain so far.
I would love if Geo or Rogue became playable in a new MVC, although Gemini Thunder and Harp Note are also great secondary suggestions.
Unfortunately, I think Starforce is the most ignored and neglected of all the main five Mega Man series, it seems to come last when it comes to talking about the series. Classic comes first, and then X, with Legends and Battle Network tied for third place, and Starforce just being given a token mention at best. I don't see Starforce getting its time in the spotlight any time soon (unless they decide to go back to it for a new game, but I don't see that happening either).
Star force ended up being neglected because despite being very well recieved, they underperformed pretty bad financially.
Watch SymphogearApparently, there was going to be a Starforce 4 where Geo teams up with a pro hacker named Kazuma who is a descendant of Lan. They were going to become outlaw hackers with 8 million Zenny wanted posters. The game was going to take the series in a more mature direction, and hacking would have been the game's core mechanic, like Noise was in 3.
I seriously doubt whatever Capcom has planned this month is anything related to MVC. At best it has something to do with the VS series in general.
Who knows, maybe it'll be that Capcom vs Jump that some people have been clamoring for.
I seriously doubt that WB would let Arc develop a DC game. Especially since they have no real reason to choose them over NRS, unless they think Arc will somehow appeal more people to the east.
I'm also pretty sure that NRS is going to develop that Marvel VS DC game at some point.
Why didn't Dante kill Jedah?
Apparently sparing Jedah was one of the most noble things Dante can do.
Then again, I don't know exactly the downside of using the Infinity Gems. I think if someone too weak-minded they go nuts or something like that, IDK?

Or that Dante only cared about getting the Soul Stone and not Jedah. Hey, nobody's paying him ;)
We can never truly eradicate the coronavirus, but we can suppress its threat like influenza"A soul for a soul."
I'm also pretty sure that NRS is going to develop that Marvel VS DC game at some point.
Agreed on the first part: DC has a thing going with NR that it has no reason to want to break. Though an MVDC game made by Arcsys would be pretty sweet.
Not so much in the second one: there’s no indication that that Marvel is any more interested in NR as DC would be anyone who’s not NR.

That makes so much more sense than what I said to the point I feel stupid for not realizing myself.

, Sorry what does "a soul for a soul" refer to?
That's lame, though.
