What dust is not blasted away by the burst of magical power is swept back by the beat of wings. Rsama launches himself across the rubble under Osroes’ direction, the cataphract judging the field mid-charge. Gazing on the horrifying visage, his mind rushes back to Urtaxis. Overwhelmed in the moment of panic, it goes blank.
Then he reasserts himself. But a glimpse of what awaits us all. As is your will, so shall we not cower before it. We act as we must. “‘Shadow’?” he calls, raising his bow and his bright-burning shield with it as Rsama circles to the flank. “Then we will send you back to your master! Begone!”
As the arrow flies, Osroes spares a glance sideways and hopes that the opening will be enough.
