Don't fly during thunderstorms. :P
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.well, after playing New Mystery having something to hold back flyers is appreciated.
Where there's life, there's hope.^^^ They can move 3 in bad weather. The Flying Mount feat increases movement by 2.

Do fliers get killed by Horseslayers in rain?

Where there's life, there's hope.Assuming we're bothering with Slayer-type weapons, I expect that might actually depend on flavor stuff; for example, Grendan would be vulnerable to Wyrmslayers regardless of weather, but Horseslayers wouldn't be any more effective on him than they would on infantry.
This, of course, opens the rather ironic possibility of a guy vulnerable to Wyrmslayers wielding a Wyrmslayer himself...
I did not expect to have cause to use the line "STOP DROPPING YOUR ASSES!" but DQ 11 gave it to me.Horseslayers are effective against characters with the Mounted feat. The Flying Mount feat has a different vulnerability, even when grounded.

Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.Oh, most likely.
What matters in this life is much more than winning for ourselves. What really matters is helping others win, too. - F. Rogers.I'm trying to imagine those wyverns walking.
Where there's life, there's hope.re: dragon-killer weapons: I've done air sweeps with wyverns and dragonspears before. The sky is ours, sonsabitches!
Correct me if my math is wrong, but it seems that with the current movement penalties in place, a mounted character can travel two squares through forests (seven movement starting, minus three, minus three), while a dismount can also travel two spaces. (Five, minus two, minus two.) Is this good?
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.Uh huh. Armored characters also move 2 squares in forest/desert (4-2-2). So the whole ground army moves equally in these terrains.

Where there's life, there's hope.Well, except the ones with feats to move through those terrains without penalty.
I did not expect to have cause to use the line "STOP DROPPING YOUR ASSES!" but DQ 11 gave it to me.There are no feats for moving through forests, purposely.
There will be a slight divide once you hit level 10, at which point everyone's movement goes up by 1, so foot units will be able to move through 3 difficult spaces, while mounted and armored units will only be able to move through 2. Movement goes up by 1 again at 20, though, at which point mounted and armored units will get that third space.

Where there's life, there's hope. So, when will we begin?
Where there's life, there's hope.Announcement time: the game thread will be launching Friday, with out first battle planned for Saturday to give everyone time to mingle in-character beforehand.
Pursuant to that, I've gone ahead with the change to the Flying Mount feat to remove the vulnerability to ranged weapons and replace it with not benefiting from terrain bonuses.
Lastly, we have a new version of the map.◊
What matters in this life is much more than winning for ourselves. What really matters is helping others win, too. - F. Rogers.Alright, good to hear, though one day is kinda a short timeframe for everyone to interact with each other, though I guess that depends on the initial pacing of things.
My experience in forum RP has tended to be that the first day tends to see an abundance of posting. If that doesn't follow through, the battle can be held off to Sunday to give more time for player interaction.
What matters in this life is much more than winning for ourselves. What really matters is helping others win, too. - F. Rogers.Bit late for me to think of this, but I'm considering a minor "flavor" tweak to Grendan. What would you say if I decided that he prefers single-edged swords? Mechanically, they'd function the same, but... well, like I said: flavor.
I did not expect to have cause to use the line "STOP DROPPING YOUR ASSES!" but DQ 11 gave it to me.Swords are swords in these mechanics, be they single edged, double edged, shortswords, longswords, katanas, claymores, or lightsa- okay, probably not lightsabers. Flavor away.
What matters in this life is much more than winning for ourselves. What really matters is helping others win, too. - F. Rogers. We have Iron swords being inexplicably rapier on Eliwood but turns into twin knives on Matthew.
Where there's life, there's hope.Oh, hey, just noticed that Arthur's backstory's been revised. Next time, post something so we know about it, okay?
I did not expect to have cause to use the line "STOP DROPPING YOUR ASSES!" but DQ 11 gave it to me.Yes, I wouldn't have seen it otherwise.
Arthur is now approved.
What matters in this life is much more than winning for ourselves. What really matters is helping others win, too. - F. Rogers.Gonna just see if I can sidle in here with that eighth character. Not right now, sadly, as I'm about to go run some errands, but hopefully soon! Thinking of rolling up an Archer.

By that logic flyers can only move one square and barely able to cross forests.
