I honestly don't mind. That new design looks pretty good.
I don't expect the art style to completely change, obviously. It's still too detailed to be animated efficiently, and this show couldn't even handled stylized designs. But I guess some costumes may be closer to the promo art. I can see guys like Vulture or Scorpion changing designs, assuming they show up.
I hope we get a trailer or sneak peek soon, especially since apparently it is premiering in April.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Gwenom doesn't look that different from her comic design.
Season 3 premieres Sunday April 19. Felicia Day is Mary Jane Watson. Funny enough, she voiced Erika on Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters, who has visual similarities to her. Also, Sofia Wylie is Ironheart. There are also the symbiote sisters Scream, Scorn and Mania (played by Meg Donnelly, Kylee Russell and Carla Jeffery).

Marvel’s relationship with Mary Jane is so amusing.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Hey, MJ is FINALLY here. I'm glad she didn't get lost in the symbiote shuffle.
Cool to see we're not just seeing symbiote-infected heroes. I'm curious to see if we'll get more, particularly Carnage. We do need that synergy for Venom 2, after all.

Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).I thought for sure they were going to split the six hours into half-hours for this..maybe that's how they'll handle the reruns Transformers G1 'season five' style?

Dino Andrade's son Connor will voice Toddler Groot in season 3.
I found an expanded logline for the season 3 premiere:
Original Series – Season Three Premiere on Disney XD
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Maximum Venom “Web of Venom”
(9:00-10:00 P.M. EDT)
When Spider-Man and Max Modell experiment on a sample of Venom symbiote, it escapes and unleashes a weapon of unknown purpose.
TV-Y7 FV
Only one special in April? Are they really doing to drag it out that much?
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).I wouldn't be surprised. There are only 6 specials in season 3.
Promo fro Maximum Venom (recorded off someone's tv screen)
I'm on the fence about Spidey's redesign, though I think that Marvel has been using that redesign for a while anyway, like in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order.
It does look like the animation has improved a bit, though.
Yeah, I don't trust that much blue in there. I wonder how often he'll use that new symbiote.
Also, hey, Sandman isn't dead after all.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Between that and Nanite Spider, whenever he gets a new suit, they usually look good.
... Is that the Anti-Venom suit Spidey's wearing?
I am intrigued now.

Okay, so for anyone who had any doubt, Max Modell really does know that Peter is Spiderman. I watched the episode on Disney Now, and he revealed it at the 16:00 minute mark.
.....Now? Huh, that would've been helpful last season 2.
Just make him a competent Reasonable Authority Figure when he gets the chance.
Does Mary Jane show up this week?
She doesn't.
Drat.
Thanks for the info
The full special is available now, though it's obviously two episodes stitched together as one. They flow into each other nicely, but there's still an obvious separation there.
Overall, I actually really liked it. The colors seem a bit different this time. There was some actual shading, though not too much. The visuals and animation were a bit better. Not a radical change like it was promised, but it's a bit more bearable to watch.
As for story stuff, I was so glad not only Max actually told Peter straight-up that he knows his secret, but that they're actively working together. He's even allowed to be flawed as he continues the symbiote experiments in secret and suffers the drawback from it. I always found him to be one of the worst characters, so this is actually endearing him to me. I hope we find out who that person he tried to help was.
I was also surprised to see not only Doc Connors back, but in a much more antagonist role than before. I somehow don't think the person that tipped him off about the symbiote had anything to do with the symbiote's plan, so I hope we see who is responsible. Also, I find it amusing he's on the other end of the same situation from The Spectacular Spider-Man, where his lab was taken over by Dr. Warren after his mistake was exposed.
I do have a couple of nitpicks, though. Mainly, I think they retconned Peter knowing Mary Jane, since Aunt May talks about her being a new person Peter could meet. Yet way back in season one, it was established Peter and Flash knew her from Midtown and that she was the new mascot ("Go get them, Tiger!"). The second, more minor retcon is Grady getting a re-design. Also, does it seem a bit tasteless to make an enemy hologram out of the man who was trying to reform and died by his daughter's hand?
I liked it, all in all. I hope they have another "movie" planned for at least next month. It would be painful if they stretched it out longer than it should.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).I don't think aunt May telling Peter about MJ is a retcon.
Having watching it, it seems that she's informing him that MJ moved next door. It's safe to say that in here they weren't neighbors until now. You can clearly see a surprised reaction from Peter, he knows who she is talking about.
And that artist is a fan of Kamen Rider. Good tastes.
