James Wan talks about the power that he has directing Aquaman
Mainly he is saying that he is picking the film location, in all his other movies he wanted to film in Australia but the studio wouldn't let him.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureAquamomoa being in Australia makes you know how hardcore he is.
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."Well duh, they have to pay for the actor's insurance.
Seeing the Great Barrier Reef grow into a monstrous form and raise the sea level to flood Sydney would be a treat.
James Wan teases Aquaman and Mera's relationship
So I guess this confirms they aren't a couple in Justice League unless Aquaman takes place before Justice League.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureI forgot to make a post about it! I put it in the OP a couple days ago
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."I'm a little bit excited about this film, mainly due to James Wan. Wan is a great director and has already directed a film with a ghost fighting couple — The Conjuring — so a couple that fight sea-terrorists and sea monsters together would be just up his alley.
I just hope WB has enough faith in him not to toss a hatchet at it in editing.
Starts production this month in Australia
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."Like Ben Affleck, James Wan is one of their golden boys. I think they have just enough brains to not mess around with him because he's so successful.
Stand Fast, Stand Strong, Stand TogetherI don't know, you could have said the same thing about David Ayer.
Eh, David has done some good stuff but he's had a few stinkers too and he hasn't had success on the level of Affleck or Wan.
Wan pulled in a billion and a half with Fast 7. His Conjuring movies have been unmitigated successes as well. That's just not the kind of director you want to micromanage. Now, it could happen, but the movie itself is in solid hands and if the TC does suck well we'll just wait for the DC like usual.
Stand Fast, Stand Strong, Stand TogetherWhat is "the TC"? I don't know what that acronym means.
Theatrical Cut.
Although I feel Wan probably has more power than Ayer or Snyder would have when it comes to his creative vision.

Stand Fast, Stand Strong, Stand TogetherThe most consistent problems seem to be a lack of trust in the final cut. Ayers direction wasn't the problem with Suicide Squad, I would say his direction is what made it passable even through the bad editing.
Good luck, Tom. You'll need it.
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."Mission Impossible 6 and Aquaman are not opening on the same day. Someone's going to blink.
James Wan scouts a seaside location for Aquaman
We know it is filming in Australia but this location looks like it is in Delaware. It is probably to tell Aquaman's origin because the audience is unfamiliar with his origin.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureI wonder if it's because Flash is almost certainly going to be pushed back as well.
Children of Dievas - my webcomic about the Northern CrusadesI actually thought The Flash would've been pushed back because it is further behind than Aquaman. Aquaman starts filming soon last I heard. I actually thought Aquaman would move up to March 2018.
The only other films I know DC is working on that could reasonably be in 2018 are The Batman (Working Title) and Justice League Dark.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre Adventurehow would aquaman's fight scenes really workout well in live action? because what he did in DOJ was boring as fuck until his sonic boom thrust. another thing it made him look goofier than Snoop Dog as Sho Nuff. underwater scenes arent the most interesting thing in live action, especially for human lookalikes unless they perform similar stuff their surface folk do. what would be the ratio of underwater treading vs that fancy DBZ shit?

It'd be cool to give Black Manta and Ocean Master clashing philosophies. Black Manta can be a modernist who believes in state-of-the-art technology, while Orm is a fervent traditionalist who eschews modern implements in favor of ancient Atlantean magic.
Also, I was thinking Black Manta aka. David could start off in the DCCU as a Somali pirate trying to make the best of a bad economic situation for himself and his family instead of being an outright Hate Sink like the comic version. And Aquaman foiling one of his raids on a vessel is what indirectly sets off the enmity between the two.
Or they could make him a member of an ancient sea-faring race with long lifespans. And he raided Atlantis back when it was an island before it sank, being a pirate and all. Unfortunately, in the chaos, he killed (probably accidentally or via one of his men) one of the Atlantean king's three children, leaving behind two brothers who were irreparably changed by the experience.
