Patrick Wilson as Orm in the previous film definitely stood out and to not give him more clout would indeed be a bad thing.
Not sure what else to say, but yeah. The short window is gonna definitely help with the hype building right now too.
Short window?
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.First trailer and only a few months before it comes out. Definitely not how it works with most superhero movies when it comes to trailers.
Wow this is moving fast. Gotta step back while responses come through so as to not have so much at once to keep up with.
Does anyone think the page for the sequel should have a spoiler warning for the last movie and the Flash?
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Trailer: Aquaman has a baby.
Comic fans: Uh oh...
Black Manta: I'm gonna kill Aquaman's entire family!
Comic fans: UH OH!
Last movie yeah, Flash maybe since according to Wan it's as self-contained as the first one.
"But the beauty about Aquaman is that we've always designed these two films to be within their own world. The advantage of not being hooked into this bigger universe is [that] whatever happens over there doesn't really affect my movie. This film doesn't hook into anything. It lives in its own world. That's what we found worked really well for us on the first film, and we're doing exactly the same. There's noise going around, but I'm just in my cocoon, in my underwater kingdom."
The Protomen enhanced my life.Oh, apparently Graham McTavish is being replaced as King Atlan. He’s now being played by Vincent Regan - Garp in the live action One Piece.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Pack it in folks! Manta's getting wrecked!
Ok, who let Light Yagami in here? And they got Sauron to do a cameo.
I'm still hoping Orvax is alive and one of the main villains.
Speaking of Orm as a co-protagonist, although many may say that they are copying Loki, having siblings like Friendly Enemies / Vitriolic Best Buds is a trope that I love.
Ps: I'm sure the baby is not going to die.

On a fun fact, this is what Manta said in the comics after ruining his life
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
That's a funny panel. That said, the context may not be funny though, but I don't know.
I really hope they don't wuss out on the baby. It's a big thing from Aquaman's history.
Oh yes, because the murder of an infant is a totally brave thing to do, and not just an edgy frigding of a child to give Aquaman pain, and to make Black Manta more eeeeeevil so that he's taken more seriously as a villain, because it's pathetic at all to kill a defenseless baby. Totally.
Arthur's dad is much more likely to die in this movie than his son.

Did they retcon that after all the constant rebooting of the universe?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Figuring out what's canon or not at this point is an exercise that'll require a lot of work and coffee. And then booze.

Wake me up at your own risk.Yeah, Aquababy getting murdered is actually not that big of a deal in terms of Aquaman's character, at least as far as the average person knows of him.
Aquaman's most famous version, before the Momoa incarnation, was the exuberant Brave and the Bold cartoon incarnation. Aquaman is largely considered a heroic, not super bright, upbeat bruiser.
Infanticide would be far too jarring to the average audience member.
I'm not saying it has to be particularly graphic or brutal. I'd just prefer they take the risk.
Yeah, because fridging the main character's partner and/or children to give them "character development" is such a novel idea that has never been done before.
So brave of the writer to do it. Bravo.

Guardians 2 had a gigantic pile of dead kids. I see no issue.
Are those dead kids Peter Quill's own children? That's not even remotely close to what you are proposing. Your point?
No, but that scene helped establish Ego's villainy. All I'm saying is that I'm not against dark plot points like the death of a child. You seem to be taking this much more personally than I am.
Agree to disagree?

I love how Orm appears to be co-protagonist here.
Especially since in the comics he's been demoted to just a cartoon villain for a while now, and here we have Orm taking a major role in a more nuanced fashion.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
