Entry 46

@Hamza678: >Flee the area

Dodging all the projectiles flying around and avoiding the shambling mass, you return back to the main temple area, which seems to be relatively safe. You notice that a large chuck of the northern region has fallen under a thick cloud. You also notice a glowing light on the temple’s bottom level.

@DrNoPuma: > Take the north road

You proceed down the north road, though before long, you see the large group of undead gathered around the mound. You also notice a large, grotesque, blackish mass with what appears to be a corpse attached to it. There is also a much smaller one flaying about past the ditch where the brook used to be. Furthermore, the entrance to the mound seems to have collapsed.

@InfinityRyujin: >Have my pistol ready.

You pull out your pistol and aim it this way and that, waiting for something to attack. However, you hear nothing but the wind.

After about a minute or two, the thick fog starts to clear, and you find yourself standing on a high mountain ridge. The clouds loom far below you, though much of the rest of the horizon seems to be obscured as well. A short distance ahead of you, you see a long rope bridge that leads off towards a downward sloping path. Should you turn around, you’ll see a small, circular platformed shrine, with a manhole-like tablet in the center and a tiled roof over it.

@Savage1337: >Head in and go left.

You proceed into the hallway and then head left. You find yourself in a somewhat large room where you see a large ring-like structure attached to the floor and ceiling. A ramp rises up to the lower edge of this ring, and you also see four cylindrical pedestals seating four gemstones. You see a long, cable-like structure connecting these pillars to the pyramidal stand holding up the ring. Said stand also seems to contain four dials, with 12 numbers written on them.

You see a much larger gem ensconced in the back wall, with several dials and levers arranged underneath it. On the right wall, you see what appears to be a map engraved in stone, though much of it seems to have been damaged.

@Savage1337: >See if there's any way to get the gemstones.

The gemstones actually seem fairly easy to remove by hand, unlike some of the others you’ve seen. Whether you want to do something with them or leave them where they are is up to your discretion.

@DrNoPuma: > Silently run back to Stone Compound

You tiptoe back the way you came and return to the western stone compound area, which is roughly the same way it was before. As mentioned before, there’s the building itself, a stairway into it on the east side, and roads heading back the way you came, west, and southwest. Now that you think of it, you’re not sure why you didn’t cross by the road before when you originally had run away from the place, but you were probably too scared to notice anything. There are also bones, stone, and iron piles scattered everywhere, along with several pillars similar to the ones you saw in the building itself.

@InfinityRyujin: >Take a closer look at the rope bridge to see if I can tell whether or not it's stable.

The bridge does not look all that stable.

Entry 48

@DrNoPuma: > Take the west road

You begin walking down the west road, which goes downhill. Eventually, the road begins to lead out of the forest and opens up to vast fields. The height of the grass and occasional cornstalks make it difficult to see anything close by, but you do see a few dilapidated huts here and there. The forest curves around to the north, and you see a small stream emerge from it. Further west, you see dense fog obscuring the landscape.

@Hamza678: >Go to the bottom level.

You approach the pyramid-temple and the glowing spot on it. One of the warrior’s shields now appears to have a glowing crystal in its center, firmly lodged in the stone. The shield also seems to have two handles on its side edges. The shield also seems to be able to turn counterclockwise, should you choose to examine it further. You’re not sure why you didn’t notice this earlier, though it’s likely that these features only recently emerged.

@Savage1337: >Pick up one gemstone.

You acquire a gemstone from the front left pillar and pocket it.

Entry 49

@InfinityRyujin: >check out the shrine

You step into the “shrine,” though it’s more of an outlook post than a shrine. The roughly conical roof sits atop of about ten spires jutting from the platform you’re standing on, with a bronze phoenix looking down from the scaffolding built into the roof. An aged bronze fence surrounds the outer edge of the shrine. It’s fairly clear that this place was meant to overlook the landscape below, which is now obscured by the clouds. Towards the back end of the shrine, you see two circular depressions in the shape of eyes, looking out from a carving of a serpentine dragon. Said dragon, wearing a proud mustache, seems to spiral around the floor until its neck finally seems to end at the edge of the manhole. The manhole itself has a pair of handles striding out of it. You also can’t help but notice four wings extending out from the dragon’s body, positioned at roughly the 2, 4, 8, and 10 o’clock positions of the shrine. Although some of the writing around the place has a few similarities to the ones you saw at the compound, it’s fairly obvious that this place was built by a different civilization entirely.

@Hamza678: >Turn the shield.

You turn the shield clockwise. You then hear a loud thud com from within the temple, and the ground begins to rumble.

As you back away, the north face of the temple begins to open up, with some slabs descending into the ground and others sliding to the side.

Inside, you see a large pillar standing in the center, with various runes engraved upon it and a large, orb-shaped, crystal bulge at the midpoint. A few feet in front of this, you see a pyramidal stand holding up a large metallic ring, with four dials placed underneath it. You also see four more columns extend from where the four spires were, each one glowing with purplish glyphs. There are also four, large onion-shaped devices at the far corners of the temple. Numerous tubes and ridges line the interior, and they all seem to bore back underground. In the back area, you can also see a manhole-like hatch a few feet from where these connections converge.

@Savage1337: >Pick up the remaining ones. Use them if possible.

You collect the remaining three crystals and stow them away. You attempt to use one of the crystals via concentrating your will into it, similar to how you might use your cold powers. You sense that there is magical energy contained within them, but you don’t think you can use them directly. You get the feeling that these crystals in particular are a form of mana-concentrated power sources as opposed to something that can directly perform magical feats.

@DrNoPuma: > Enter some huts and look for supplies

You wade through the field and approach one of the huts. A small fire pit surrounded by stone sits outside, with a cooking pot resting on top. The surrounding flora also looks like it has eaten into the hut. When you walk in, you see a number of fur mats laid on the floor. There also appears to be a small, straw-built crate at one end, along with several basic farming implements. You also see five skeletons lying around, three of which are much smaller than the others. They all are still garbed in whatever they wore when they died, and should you look back outside, you will also see another skeleton lying around, with a sickle lying nearby.

@Hamza678: Dunno if it was clear enough, but the ring is kinda big. As in, it's big enough that you can walk through it and you won't be able to carry it. Not gonna give exact dimensions as I'll probably run into inconsistencies as to how big everything's supposed to be, but think something along the lines of a stargate.

Entry 50

@Savage1337: >Examine the map and levers near the large gemstone.

A large chunk of the map seems to have been damaged, but you can vaguely see the contours of what you assume is the landmass you’re on. In the lower right quarter of the map, you see the edge of a mountain range, along with a figure that looks like something akin to a Homeworld starship. Next to this, you see a target/crosshair-like symbol, along with the number “1111.”

Heading southwest, you also see a pyramid-like symbol with the number “1112” scribbled onto it. East of this, you see a number of house-like symbols, and towards the west, you see some sort of tower-like symbol. South of the temple symbol, you see what you presume to be a quarry, with a fortress south of this. Further south of this, the land meets the ocean, and you see a boat symbol with the number “1113” scrawled next to it. Northwest of the temple, you see a strange symbol you don’t recognize, which you assume has some special significance to the author.

To the far west, you see a temple-like symbol surrounded by several smaller huts, accompanied by the number “1114.” Much of the rest of the map seems to be obscured or otherwise damaged, though you can see a large river going in from the north side of the landmass. The mountains also appear to stretch all the way to the northeast side of the land, forming a peninsula and small island chain. Above the map, you see a phoenix spewing a fire-like breath. Underneath the map, you see what you presume is a serpentine dragon, though the body and the four wings attached to it remind you of a plesiosaur.

You then walk to the front of the room and examine the levers and dials. You begin testing them one by one, resetting each after you’re done. You have no idea what any of them do, though you might wish to return the power crystals back to their posts before testing stuff.

@Hamza678: >Turn the dials

You approach the stand and examine the dials. They each appear to have twelve glyphs that presumably represent numbers. Each of them are pointed upward, in what you assume is the “1111” position. You begin turning each of the dials, and you hear a static crack-like noise coming from within the ring, but nothing seems to happen.

While standing here, you also see a lever on the back side of the stand, which for some reason you didn’t notice before.

@DrNoPuma: > Take the sickle.

You approach the sickle and take it. Nothing seems to happen when you do so.
