Blue-haired Touko is her original design, the one in Extra is a homage to that.
I did.

There is no level of homage that makes it internally make sense, however.
Avatar SourceExtra is chock full of fanservice references that make no sense if you think about it for more than two seconds. I'd say it's just par the course. Her and Aoko being in the same room and not killing each other though is weird, as of Touko could ever let a grudge go.
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysThat actually does have an explanation, the Moon Cell is telling them to play nicely or it'll delete them.
Type Moon keeping the tradition of a pair of sisters fucking hating each other.

Avatar SourceAnd they are continuing it. Imagine a group therapy session.
You got Touko, Morgan, and Rin on one side and you have Aoko, Artoria, Sakura on the other.
"Ok girls, let's talk about our issues" and then the room just blows up.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.BTW was Lil Nas X's Gil cosplay at the Met Gala was discussed here?
Yes, someone posted... whoever the hell it was in a gaudy outfit. Multiple people, I think.
Avatar SourceLil Nas X, that's the name.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Artoria would probably annoy Morgan the most by not hating her.
Which one of them?
There's, well, plenty to pick from...
Without qualifications, the original one? That seems fairly obvious.
Though it seems more like Artoria's response is a superposition of love, hate, and frustration; if we go by the fact that OG Morgan also had some crazy split personality problems.

Avatar SourceThinking about the whole Rider Vinci being blatantly doomed at some point, I wonder if it's gonna be before or after they do LB 7 and how it'll affect the plot, ie. will Nemo just take over operations or will there be some complications arising from not having da Vinci specifically hooked up to the Shadow Border, stuff like that
With how thick they're laying it on, I fully expect it to not stick and they'll somehow save Lolivinci. Doesn't help that this is starting to become a Recycled Script. Mash, Roman, Musashi, and now Lolivinci?
Vegeta: I'm back bitches! You should probably add OG Da Vinci to that too, she's very much gone no matter how the mini version tricks us into thinking she isn't.
That said, whether or not it's recycled doesn't really stop them from doing it. Aside from Roman and Mash it's not like they happen closely to each other, if we also keep non-recurring characters there have been a LOT more heroic sacrifices and I don't really see anyway to save her time limit issue, that's one of the few things this franchise has been consistent on (hi there Illya)
Edited by Mami on Sep 19th 2021 at 7:55:50 PM
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysStill feels arbitrary. With Illya at least there was the excuse that they didn't have the resources to save her. Chaldea literally has hundreds of Servants at it's disposal though, dozens of casters and inventors, it should not be hard to extend her life span.
Plus, a lot of those heroic sacrifices are mitigated by the fact it's using Servants who are just as easily summoned again in Chaldea.

Vegeta: I'm back bitches! Also Rider Vinci: You fool I have seventy alternate bodies!
I generally count anything where the relationship with the characters are ultimately lost as still a sacrifice. That's why our dear stranger doesn't count as Romani being back nor would resummoning a brand new Da Vinci (which should be easy enough to do since we have a strong relationship with her) really bring her back to us.
so what, we look for Touko?
Edit: Well, I don't believe anyone besides heroine Mash should be given special treatment in that regard. Mini Vinci dying isn't even a heroic sacrifice in hindsight, it's just homunculus pettering out like they always do. If we found Da Vinci's notes when she made her, we could theoretically make a new one like all the Tooles that subjugated Goredolf's family.

I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysFair enough. But considering the only reason we "lost" da Vinci is because Kirei destroyed her Spirit Core and the memories didn't go back to the Throne, but the memories do exist in Lolivinci, wouldn't we be able to just summon another da Vinci, then upload all of their memories into that da Vinci? Yeah, it still wouldn't be the original da Vinci nor Lolivinci, but at least we'd have a da Vinci that doesn't die a year after being summoned.
Maybe that's what will happen. Lolivinci dies, but her body is used as a catalyst to summon a new da Vinci that functions closer to a Composite Character between da Vinci and Lolivinci.

Vegeta: I'm back bitches! There's precedence with Touko and more recently Beryl, but there is the question of how the new Da Vinci would feel about it. Mini Vinci treated her grown up self as their own individual till the end and Mandy's interlude has him not being able to accept the current him as "Master's best friend". Unlike those two Da Vinci is more empathetic and is more an inventor than a mage.

I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysDa Vinci death is one of those things they've been foreshadowing so hard, it almost feels like red herring.
"Sister, why can't you act normally?"
"Reeeeee!!!"
Teenage da Vinci would be an acceptable compromise
also this is vaguely reminding me of a debate people had a few months ago but I have no idea over which Servant death people were arbitrarily up in arms about
was it Bedivere
