So, with the recent updates in mind, I wish to ask... How many here has managed to roll Iskandar already or tried to do so?

I have young Alexander, but not Iskandar. I've heard he's not even that good anyway.

He's convenient in the few times I use him, but he's pretty much a one man army and just a somewhat adequate one.

I still favour Alexander over him but that's just my own personal biases

Swimsuit Jeanne doesn't actually believe that anything has changed about herself. Though in reality her being moved out of her Ruler class has remove any inhibitors she had.

I did a quick look up of Jeanne and saw she did have siblings of her own. Interesting enough, teo of them took a along a woman eho masquerade as Jeanne post execution.

Finally had time to play today's story. I'm so sorry for what I said Juliet, I understand, you don't want to get married, there's only one thing to do gets on knees and proposes to Bedivere

[up] Agreed.

(No, I'm not going to propose to Bedivere, but would rather propose to Violet instead, after getting to know her better, of course. Rushing things are never a good thing in relationships.)

It's obvious who got the butterflies for him in this drama.

That said, I'm really not fond of bombshells like that.

Surprise-genetics never are in any story.

Even so, I'm actually getting intrigued by the mystery, (As I have not read any spoilers at all and this is my first time seeing this.) and found alibis and motives from the others already...

No idea who it might be...

...

I really like Ivan as a farming-Rider...

Especially when he is high-leveled.

He is even better than Drake at it.

I'm going in blind but I kind of suspect Morris. I don't think he's dead. Laurie seems suspicious as well. Cain is a bit too obvious.

Did we ever get to see Sheringham's body or just the shot of the bloody hand?

[up] Just the hand.

...

I think it is too obvious that it would have been Morris, since he might have been the last one that saw the detective alive, and perhaps abducted to keep the content of the meeting secret by the culprit, who probably thinks that Morris wouldn't be able to keep quiet about it if pressed hard enough.

So in short, whoever it is, might be one that's knowledgeable of what the detective might have spilled to Morris and considered it worth the risk of sweeping Morris under the carpet rather than just outright kill him to keep it a secret.

And the only one who knows what the detective might have known, would most likely be the person that told him that information in the first place.

Oh great... now I'm suspecting the "client" as the main suspect.

Hmmm... That does make sense. I'm suspicious about not getting to see Sheringham's body.

Now I'm suspecting Wu, of all people. He could have put knock-out drugs in Morris's tea and beat Sheringham over the head with the tea tray or something until he died. Then he would yeet the unconscious Morris to a safe hiding place. As for motive, maybe he was doing some unethical stuff on the side to move up in the Marble Company and didn't want to get found out.

It's quite far-fetched, I'm aware, but it makes some sense to me.

I'm quite a bit behind so I might be wrong, but man, that doctor is suspicious. His attempt on manipulating me is so obvious that it almost seems like a red herring.

And my biggest problem with this story is that I just don't care about those people. They can just kill each other off for all I care.

I could argue that being suspicious of the Doctor is the exact reason why you'd be wrong and that's because you're looking at Moriarty who's just a face to be used in this mystery, just like everyone else.

As long nobody spoils us, it's fine.

(Okay, time to bring my Holmes and Mash to the table.)

Wu? I don't know, he doesn't feel relevant enough to wager such a risk in killing the detective and abducting Morris like that, besides, he might be used as a means by the culprit to provide an alibi for them through carrying out actions and his testimonies.

Such as the left-handed tea-cup for example.

Right now, that alone has drawn all the attention towards Morris as the prime suspect, and Wu tried to falsify the testimony, that would be found out and just put him under deeper suspicion.

What can we tell from this case thus far?

1. The suspect knows what the detective knew, and silenced him the moment he spilled the contents to anyone else.

2. Morris hasn't shown up as a corpse yet, hinting that despite being in the know, his death might be too much of a risk for the culprit to handle, hence the disappearance instead of a corpse showing up to keep the secret.

3. The culprit wants to break up the engagement. However, they are not completely ruthless, as if that was all, then they wold have killed Morris or Violet from the get-go and had their way then and there. This hints that the culprit isn't completely ruthless and might want one or the other or both alive through this ordeal rather than more funerals. The two are worth more alive than dead to the culprit.

4. The culprit favors Violet. Which might explain why it was Morris that got swept under the rug and not her in order to break of the engagement. They might treasure both of them, but in the end, Violet might be higher in value than Morris, which is why she was left alive and untouched up to this point.

5...

Well, so far, this leaves out the bodyguards as the culprits, as they would have nothing to gain from this whole ordeal, unless they serve as henchmen for the culprit without actually knowing it, but still, not the real culprit.

And so far, I think that Chris will be the key-element to determine the culprit's identity, as if nothing happens to him, then it would show the culprit being in favor of Chris rather than Morris to continue the engagement, showing that it might not be the marriage that was the problem, but the ones in it from the beginning.

Which leaves the question:

"Why would a Morris & Violet engagement be motive enough for someone to commit murder if it turns out that her marrying anyone else is fine?"

It might be for Juliet's sake. Because even if she hates it, Juliet will go through with this marriage.

Or maybe they feel like even if the alternative is collapse, rolling over and being palls with your long time enemies is too revolting.

I still have a suspicion in the back of my mind that this is all an elaborate piece of theater and/or we’re just hallucinating. Or that it’s a Inception-type thing where the murder-mystery is the deepest level so far, “Chaldea” is another level, and so on and so forth.

I’m also a bit suspicious as to why we got knocked out in the Kogetsukan for an exposition dump.

And it just came to me that all of the information in the Kogetsukan-level has been given to us from other people, perhaps Unreliable Narrator is in play.

We have already been warned that due to seeing the people involved as servants, might give us some bias in terms on how we think about them.

(Crap, I feel that I'm getting some names wrong already...)

Even so, the mystery is happening in real-time in that very moment, just on a different place in space on the globe.

Hence why we should be caring about this case.

...

Now, another aspect showed up in my mind when thinking about it.

Was Morris' abduction a struggle?

If no scene of such was found then that would mean that whoever swept Morris, did so without a fight.

So another question here would be: "Who would Morris trust enough to drop his guard around in order to end up abducted without a fight?"

A sheet of characters and some interesting things:

??? = ex-wife (deceased)

Mordred = Morris, eldest son, Jerkass, missing and possibly dead

Paul Bunyan = Laurie, eldest daughter

Bedivere = Chris, illegitimate son by unknown woman. Apprentice under the Marble Company

Violet Family

Lancelot = Adamska, dad, Mash doesn’t like him

Raikou = Eva, mom

Mephistopheles = Cain, oldest son, troublemaker

Stheno = Juliet, oldest daughter, having qualms of conscience about family’s blood money, doesn’t want to marry Morris

Euryale = Harriet, younger daughter

Moriarty = Hawthorne, Violet family’s physician

Marble Company

Jaguar Warrior = Ann, Second Seat, determined to see the marriage go through

Assassin of Shinjuku (don’t know his True Name) = Wu, Fifth Seat

Person in the forest talking about bodyguards. Could be entirely new person or one of the living characters.

Person talking about no one suspecting them because they were a kid. In the same room as Cain and Laurie, probably either one of those.

They've been kind of vague on who is the Mum in the violet flower, and didn't Eva flirt with Morris? That would be kind of awkward when her husband is with her.
