Bump.
More details about that comic book!
Basically:
- It's a graphic novel adaptation of the movie published by Legendary themselves under their comics branch Legendary Comics.
- It's being written by Brian Buccellato (The Flash, Injustice: Gods Among Us – Year 3-5) with art by Nelson Dániel (Judge Dredd, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: 20/20).
- Release date: to be confirmed.
In case you’re curious, the reason why the cinematography is so good is that they got the cinematographer of Logan.
This might be too early to say, but I totally think the movie will get a VFX nomination at the Oscars.
Remind me, what's the name of the city this is set in? Moreover, do we know if this is even set in Kanto?
It's Ryme City, although there's no mention of what specific region it takes place in.
Everyone has American accents, so I would assume it's in Unova. On the other hand, Tim has a poster on his wall for the Sinnoh championship.
I would assume Kanto based on the fact that 95% of the Pokemon we've seen are of the original 150, hence, the Kanto region.
There are enough Pokemon from other gens that seem wild/feral/just hanging around in the background that the case could be made for any region.
Apparently, Danny DeVito sort of helped shape Pikachu's character.
Hey, random questions:
- How much did Marvel flaunt the bigness of the MCU in the early days?
- And when did Universal flaunt its Dark Universe? Like, almost immediately after establishing their Mummy movie?

Pre-Avengers Marvel was just hint-hint budge-nudge "Hey maybe these guys will team up some day."
Where there's life, there's hope.Back then no one had done a big team-up movie, so the studios didn't want to risk trying one. Nowadays the team-up movies are huge and every studio wants to do one, even if it's not properly set up.
I am simultaneously amused and horrified.
I want a special cut of the movie where they use the costumed actors instead of the CG.
I don't know if anyone else noticed this but does Psyduck have white irises in his eyes?
So there will be around 60 Pokemon. How many have we seen in the trailers so far?
Visual effects producer Greg Baxter and Producer Ali Mendes explains why the Pokemon are furry.

Because they're animals that have fur?
Yeah, seems kinda obvious.
Seriously. The reason that Pokemon all look smooth in the anime if they have short fur is because it's easier to draw.
Some footage of the Mr. Mime interrogation scene was shown at WB's CinemaCon presentation yesterday.
One noteworthy moment: Tim decides to mime pour invisible gasoline all over Mr. Mime and "lights" matches to get him to talk. Mr. Mime responds by blowing the "matches" out. Obvious Reservoir Dogs reference is obvious.

"The devil's got all the good gear. What's God got? The Inspiral Carpets and nuns. Fuck that." - Liam GallagherMr. Mime is gonna be a hoot it seems. So many potential gags with the character.
