Hey everyone, I want to get your thoughts on the main Mighty Magiswords work page. I'm currently trying to redirect its media label from Web Animation to Western Animation since the series no longer a series of 5 minute shorts only found on the internet, but is now a dedicated cartoon of Two Shorts that will ultimately surpass the web animation in sheer quantity of episodes in only a few weeks.

The WesternAnimation/MightyMagiswords redirect already exists, but someone else made it before I could, and it still links to the Web Animation link instead.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Can the system fix it?

I doubt that this would be a problem if I was the one who created the redirect, but I don't know who actually did. One option is to cut the Web Animation link entirely, but one of the mods thinks I'm trying to break the rules (which was corrected by another mod that it's a guideline, not a "rule") by trying to do so.

Aren't you supposed to swap the contents of the two?

The redirect was created before I could try to do that, so it wouldn't let me do it again.

I must say, the 11 minute episodes are actually nice.

Now... if they could get 20..................

My On Demand added a five minute episode called "Stairways & Spiders". It's about exactly the two things it sounds like, but I can't find any episode list that has it. Which is especially odd if it's a five minute episode and has a 2015 release date.

[up]It's a five minute short. CN has commissioned over 100 new 5-minute shorts for Mighty Magiswords which actually has a new reboot continuity. This explains why Grup's whole appearance/personality from "No Robots for Old Men" is different from "The Desolation of Grup" and the series. 2015 is actually the copyright date. Comedian Pete Holmes voices Teri the Spider.

Five TV episodes have been released: Mushroom Menace, Mystery of Loch Mess, Squirreled Domination, Case Clothed and Surely You Jest-O.

Thoughts:

Mushroom Menace- I liked the songs played in the show and actually enjoyed Hal Lublin's performance as Omnibus. But pacing is a bit too fast for my taste

Loch Mess- Yes, that is Egoraptor as Delivery Man Steve. Mary Faber as Morbidia was shocking to me but it did seem to fit the character and made her more adorable.

Squirreled Domination- It's pretty funny and I liked the Grup's Soup song. I also liked the part where Prohyas tried to use Grup's apology as an excuse to make him say the ingredients.

Case Clothed- Zange was a real B***h in that episode. She clearly knows that Vambre was not interested in dress up and she didn't care and made the Warriors her personal dress-up doll. She literally said that in the episode. But I do like the pirate designs.

Surely You Jesto- Long time since I've heard a Phil Silvers impression in a cartoon character. Good fitting since several Sponge Bob illuni (Mr. Lawrence, who also writes for the show and this episode, as Jest-o and Tom Kenny, who is close friends with the creator, as the Jester Magisword). I also liked the concept of the Warriors fighting each other. That would make a great episode.

—- Oh and my thoughts on the other shorts (excluding Desolation and Warriors for Hire):

Too Many Warriors- Great short to reveal the Warriors' rivals and competition. Arin Hanson was right on the money doing a Sulu impression as Gateaux. Glad to hear Luke Ski as Docky Boardman.

Walkies- I wasn't much fased from this short but I liked the ending where as Rexxtopher was leaving, he told them to stay out of the Dinosaur Kingdom. And it reveals that Old Man Oldman is an insomniac.

Identity Theft- How Nohyas meets the Warriors backstory. Good. Except it blows the continuity off when Nohyas already introduced Handbre in "No Robots for Old Men". Then again, the Grup from that episode is different than the one in here. Good props on Lindsay Carrozza and Phil La Marr as Witchy Simone and Noville.

Stairways & Spiders- Didn't like the fact that the theme song and vlogs are gone. Didn't have much oomph from this but Pete was funny as Teri.

CN has been uploading the vlogs on their You Tube channel so that maybe why there recently absent nowadays but I hope the show gets better and better.

This episode about Grup's stank was hilarious. Especially the bit about the kid blaming his feline friend in the sandbox.

I glimpsed the Loch Mess episode just now, and I saw one of the characters using an accordion sword. One scene later it was a hamburger-shaped helicopter sword.

I'm watching this show when I have the time. [tup]

You mean Accorion Magisword and Excaliburger Magisword? Those are Mighty Magiswords staples, two of Prohyas' main weapons beside Dolphin Magisword and Zombie Pumpkin Magisword.

So I'm slowly having a few observations of this show:

A lot of it somehow shouldn't work. It feels like the kind of random humor that a lot of people criticize Uncle Grandpa and Breadwinners for, and yet somehow not only does it work better than those shows, I actually like it. I guess it helps that it feels like the kind of flash animations that were popular on Newsgrounds back in the early 2000's. The jerky and off model flash animations are also pretty good.

The people from Witch Way, though, are not my favorite characters. They usually feel tacked on and kind of annoying. Arin Hanson is so quiet as Gateux that it just feels weird. Like, I'm more used to hearing him on Game Grumps, so it feels weird to hear him be so subdued (and pulling a weird George Takei impression). As for that other person (Morbidia, I think?), she's just plain annoying with a bit too much of an over exaggerated William Shatner thing going on (though the jerky animation adds some good humor to it). It wasn't until the episode that aired just as I was typing this post that they finally grew just a little bit on me, and I think that was mostly because it gave Gateux more dialogue than just repeating most of what Morbidia says and it gave him some more personality.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?

I'm only gonna do this for Toonzone Forums but here are some of my reviews for the episodes that aired:

Cleanliness is Next to Grupliness- The episode could've been better but it was funny on how they try to get Grup to take a bath.

Flirty Phantom- Kate Micucci was great as Penny Plasm. I think I saw a Rule 34 image of her. Nice shot on the Transylberia dec.

Wrath of Neddy- Praise the fact that Townsend Coleman voices the Tick-esque character, Neddy. It's Townsends first cartoon project since reprising as Michelangelo in TMNT.

Working for Scales- Witchy Simone's cuteness plus the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers sequence on the Dino Patrol was awesome. (Fun fact: Johnny Yong Bosch and Paul Schrier are gonna be on Magiswords)

Felonious Pose- Finally some character development on Gateaux's part. Arin's getting more respective roles. And I like Noville's development as well being not only shy but anti-social.

Potion in the Ocean- Witchy Simone being as crazy as can be. And Eek the Cat's Bill Kopp voices Man Fish, who was originally a proposed-yet-failed character Kyle made for a Mega Man character contest as a kid.

Bad Bad Cop- Yep. That's right. Bob Camp of Ren & Stimpy storyboarded this. The poses are pretty good but the concept kinda stank.

Gotta Get Grup to Get Down- The song is pretty good and the overuse of almost all secondary characters was a smart move. Props to Luke Ski because this episode got him the job on the show.

Thick as Thieves- The Grand Poobah was hot and some more Phil development. Arin Hanson's revealation of his unknown role that he posted at a video is revealed as not only the Italian accented thief but the flamboyant one as well.

Dungeons and Dayjobs - 2 fun facts: 1- Bob Camp and Dave Alvarez, who attempted to work with Kyle to pitch a comic called Kee Kee Koki to TV animation, storyboarded this one. 2- The title of the epp was the original second name for the series when Kyle pitched it for adults to Mondo Media. I like Witchy S Imone's chargin and Kyle Massey was good as Mr. Spoony.

Little Sword of Horrors- Like the design for the Carniverous Plant Magisword. Funny how Grup was eaten.

Champion of Breakfast- A Fud related epp and Jack Mc Brayer was great as Snax. Jess Harnell gave good singing chops as well.

Shorts:

Vambre's Brain- Candi Milo was crazy as the brain and I liked the jokes.

Do We Decimal System- Witchy S Imone being crazy, totally funny and love the Mickey Mouse-voiced librarian

Can I Keep Him?- Great introduction to Wobbles and the slime balls are cute.

For those who don't know, CN has released the Magi Mobile app granting users to gain magiswords from the sound of the TV episodes and can watch the 5-minute shorts before there uploaded to CN Video. Thoughts?

The show is still too fast paced at places, but it's still funny.

I tried seeking the episode I missed, Share and Share Dislike. No site I can find has the full one when I google it.

I loved the Space Jam references. In fact, that's most of why I enjoyed the episode. BTW, they got Dave Coulier to voice the random Bill-Murry character. :D
