  • Name: Nicole "Nic" Bush

  • Age: 19

  • Origin: OC

  • Appearance: sexiest mother you'll meet. He has some tribal tattoos on his arms.

  • Personality: Calm, laidback, affable. These are all words to describe Nic. He takes life slowly most of the time. But it's less that he's slow, and more that he just takes things at his own pace. He does enjoy taking risks, and loves to try new things. Trying new food is one of the greatest joys in life, and he loves listening to new kinds of music. He thinks he might want to be an anthropologist if the whole magical rock star thing doesn't pan out. He also has an intense love for the ladies, and isn't even too sore about being slapped over it. As far as hobbies, he enjoys video games and watching cartoons and comedies. He also likes to make things a lot. Though his favorite medium is guitar, he also enjoys drawing, poetry, and cooking.

  • Also, he smokes a -lot- of weed. He's been debating cutting back.

  • Abilities:
    • Magical Guitarist: Nic can cast spells using any instrument he can play. So it's limited mostly to stringed instruments. So far, he knows three spells:
      • Flora Purim: This spell causes plants to grow quickly. Very quickly. Most plants need only about a minute to reach adulthood. Bigger plants, like trees or cacti, require around a half hour. They still require all the water they'd normally need, so Nic either needs to really soak the ground, or have someone stand by with a watering can. This spell also has a second use: Any disease land will be purified. It takes five minutes to purify one acre of land.
      • Animal Kinship: This song allows Nic to befriend any beast that communicates via sound. This includes most mammals and birds. It confers to the animal that Nic will keep it fed and cared so long as it sticks with him. He usually needs to be able to back up this request, though. Most animals will protect him and let him ride them if he leads them to danger, but only ones whom he's befriended for a long time will fight to the death for him. While playing, he can also talk to animals. Of course, they're still animals, so they might not be very smart.

    • Cook: Nic is a very good chef. He's sampled lots of different types of cuisine, and can make a tasty meal from pretty much any ingredients.

    • Musical Talent: Nic has been playing guitar and singing since he was 8. He's damn good at it. If he had a band, he might be able to get gigs at a local place.

    • Video Games: Nic is very good at video games.

    • Big Weed City: Nic's weapon of choice. The red guitar he is pictured with. It's an electric guitar, but it requres no amp. Instead, technology from his world makes it so that it can provide its own sound, though it can still be plugged in to speakers for better fidelity.

    • He named it Big Weed City.

  • Other: Nope.

Source (Optional): Dragon Age II

Name: Fenris

Age, Gender, and Species: Male elf, age unknown but somewhere in the range of late 20's/early 30's.

Appearance: Comes in regular and glow-in-the-dark varieties.

Personality: Fenris is cynical, angry, and brooding even though he'd deny the last one. A difficult life on the run as an escaped elven slave leaves him leery of trusting others, especially any with abilities that might be "magic." That said, the stand-offish personality masks an insecure demeanor which craves affection, with an incredibly dry sense of humor and an ability to love deeply. Gaining his trust establishes you an ally for life. While prone to bouts of rage or sullenness, he will apologize if he knows he's crossed a line in insulting another.

Backstory (Optional): Fenris's memories only go back approximately a few years, to the time when his owner, a magister named Danarius, put him through a horrifyingly painful procedure to embed a substance called lyrium into his skin as an experiment. The procedure left Fenris alive and wiped of his memory, but with new powers that made him a perfect soldier and bodyguard for his master. Fenris was accidentally left behind when Danarius had to flee a warzone, and was taken in by a group of warriors that taught him more about freedom and life than he was aware of as a slave. However, when Danarius came to reclaim him, and ordered him to slaughter his protectors, Fenris obeyed without question, before realizing the extent of what he had done. He fled his master, intent on finding freedom, which brought him to Kirkwall and joining the forces of one Hawke and his comrades in fighting against the city's various evils.

Abilities/Skills/Powers: When his lyrium markings are inert, Fenris is a relatively normal elf with a decent grasp of swordplay and somewhat enhanced strength. Thedas elves' eyes also contain a tapetum lucidum, much like a cat's, giving him superior night-vision and eyes that shine when reflecting light.

Upon activating his lyrium brands, Fenris's whole body begins to glow light blue with the energy, and he gains several new abilities.

Enhanced strength: Fenris's already greater strength becomes moreso, to a level that he can switch his enormous broadsword to a one-handed grip without hesitation. Straddles the line of "peak human strength" and "actually superhuman".

Intangibility: Fenris gains the power to phase through solid objects and people, and often uses this as a means to kill enemies, phasing into them before re-solidifying. He tends to use this as a means to avoid being struck in battle, but because his sword comes with him, he has to "blink" in and out to be able to strike back, which leaves him open to attack. Fenris has never shown an ability to take another person into intangibility with him, but will bring through his uniform and his weapons. Looser clothing might not make the trip, however.

Spirit Pulse: Fenris can release a burst of chaotic energy around himself, a radius of perhaps five feet, that potentially stuns enemies for a few seconds.

Magical Deflection: When properly focused, Fenris can negate the worst effects of magic attacks. This requires concentration and does not stop magic from affecting him, merely from being quite as effective.

Other: The lyrium tattoos are extremely sensitive, even painful at times, as they are. Ergo Fenris tends to recoil from being touched by anyone or anything which will make the pain worse. He will also likely show hostility towards any "magic" characters due to his background, but can be relatively easily convinced to work alongside them for a greater purpose. He prefers to go barefoot and will typically shun any more clothes than what he typically wears unless necessary to the environment.

Really not sure if I'm comfortable with allowing the weed thing, but otherwise Nick looks acceptable to me.

From the description provided it seems like Fenris is capable of pulling off an easy OHKO on whoever he happens to be fighting through Telefrag, which doesn't particularly sit well with me (though for all I know I've allowed something like this earlier because I didn't think of all the potential applications).

Besides that, I don't see anything objectionable about Fenris and so he'll be accepted once the aforementioned concern is addressed somehow.

So I totally made a signup sheet and it got eaten by the system. The basic idea was for a semi-OC, a trooper from the XCOM series (who typically have no personality but can be given one to make an OC). I'll finish it later. I'm annoyed now.

Curse the ill fortune that led you to me.

About the only thing I can think is that Fenris does have to be literally right on top of someone to kill them that way, he can't move any faster than any other moderately trained athlete to get within range of someone, and a glowing blue elf is hardly stealthy, etc. But if he's no good then the application can be tossed.

For one reason or the other, I somehow equated "intangibility" with "teleportation," which made the ability seem a bit more OP than it actually is.

So with that little bit taken care of, Fenris is properly accepted.

If it makes you uncomfortable I will change it. I also edited Nic's sign up a little bit. Now his guitar is not a weapon but it can still play music normally without requiring an amp.

Also he's 19 now.

What's up everybody, gonna toss my DA 2 fave into the mix here.

Source: Dragon Age II. Second game in the franchise, first in my heart.

Name: Orsino. If pressed for a last name he’d probably say Hawke.

Age, Gender, and Species: 45, male, elf. Dragon Age elf. Large eyes, prominent nose bridge, slight stature — otherwise human-looking. He wouldn’t look too out of place in a crowd.

Appearance: Here's two pics: imgur. com/zX49wIX.jpg and imgur. com/F Z0w0b C.jpg since it doesn't wanna let me post links. Take out the spaces. Middle-aged (grey-haired, receding hairline, etc) but relatively youthful-looking otherwise. Yellow-green eyes. 5’9’’ or so, hourglass figure, strong upper body and arms. Usually wears his formal First Enchanter robes.

Personality: Orsino is the First Enchanter of the Kirkwall Circle of Magi, which puts him in direct responsibility for protecting and representing all the other mages kept within the Circle. Their guards, the Templars, are inclined to gratuitous abuses of power, so Orsino puts most of his effort towards fighting them, both openly and behind the scenes. Initially, he is reserved; he has spent half a life keeping his beliefs and his powers under wraps to attract less attention, and as First Enchanter, he’s expected to act with some measure of diplomacy. However, this severe, responsible demeanor masks an offbeat and at times ill-timed sense of humor, as well as strong beliefs and endless empathy towards anyone who has suffered. Now and then he is melancholy, especially considering his situation, but he can be depended on to step forward and put himself in danger to protect others, regardless of his own fears.

Backstory: Orsino is from Ansburg, a different city-state in the Free Marches, and was taken to the Kirkwall circle at a very young age, leaving behind the poverty of the alienage slums where he lived. Initially he was viewed as unremarkable in both his attitude and his skills, though this was mostly a case of taming his own abilities to avoid negative attention. This facade fell away fairly quickly as his eyes were opened to the abuses committed against mages in the prison of the Circle. He rose quickly through the hierarchy, and became First Enchanter (the youngest ever in Kirkwall) when his predecessor died, much to the dismay of the templar Knight-Commander Meredith, his constant opponent. Currently he uses his influence to fend off the templars and coordinate with the mage underground to improve living conditions for the Circle’s other victims.

Abilities/Skills/Powers: Orsino’s magic skills center primarily around the Arcane and Force Magic specializations; in short, telekinetic powers. He has a few additional spells as well. Arcane: He can knock back and briefly stun enemies around him with a wave of invisible force, conjure a shield to deflect a small amount of damage, temporarily form a field around a target to repel greater damage, and crush an enemy in a cage of telekinetic pressure, hindering movement and attack. Force Magic: He can lift up an enemy and slam them into the ground, summon a blast to knock back enemies surrounding it, create a force field that acts like a vortex and slows movement within it, and simulate a change in gravity within an area, greatly slowing enemies. Other: He can summon a fire blast or firestorm when needed, though this is the only flashy/visible spell he has. He also has a spell drawn from his own research, a form of mild self-sacrifice that uses up a portion of his own health through blood magic to massively boost the attack, defense, and health regeneration rates of allies surrounding him.

Other: In the actual Dragon Age II game, the player is forced to kill him due to an unavoidable plot event. However, the Bioware lead writer stated in an interview that this was never the intention for Orsino’s character if the protagonist supported the mages, and he was supposed to live through the story. It was essentially a gameplay-based decision for an extra fight, disregarding his actual personality and actions. So I ignore that particular plot event. He’s fine.

Yes, but I should warn you that this RP is pretty dependent on cooperation between the characters. If your evil character proves to be so vile that the other characters and/or Celeste decide they're worth getting rid of, they're not going to last very long.

I actually want to make an evil character too. Maybe. What if we created a seperate faction? Would that be viable?

Yomegami Since: Jan, 2011

I'm going to say that's beyond the scope of what this RP's meant to be, so for now no. I suppose I'd consider the idea if everyone gets bored enough of the initial premise, but if it gets to that point then it wouldn't be worth it for me to keep the RP going.

So after some debating I decided to go with this

  • Source: OC from a story of mine
  • Name: Phantom
  • Age, Gender and Species: Over a century old, male, Guardian (a species of Animated Armor)
  • Appearance: His armor is mainly black and gold, being fairly streamlined and light allowing him to have more freedom of movement. His helmet looks a lot like a typical gladiator helmet, but most of the head is covered, with the exception of the eyes, in which there are a pair of glowing golden eyes to be found. Other than his armor, he wears an old red cape with golden edges which also features a golden rune marking in the center of it, which can also be found in the chest of his armor. His weapon is a sword that has a pitch-black blade and a golden handle, which is kept in a similarly colored sheath on his back. He's very huge, standing at 7'2.
  • Personality: Although he acts aloof and talks in a rather blunt and serious tone, Phantom is very kind and understanding. He's a good listener and is often willing to let others vent against him if it makes them feel better. He tries his best to be helpful and does not hesitate to help others no matter how minor the request might be. He's not one for lying and will lay down the truth on others even if it might come out as harsh and he does not hesitate in expressing distaste for anybody who gets in his bad side
  • Backstory: Phantom has no memory of his past life, being the soul of living being that was transfered into a lifeless body, finding himself waking up in an abandoned house but with a map with an area marked on it. Seeing as he had nowhere to go he followed the map where he found his mentor, who taught him everything he needed to know about life and also gave him paladin training. After his mentor passed away, Phantom decided to dedicate his life to helping others in need at least until he found out what was the real purpose of his creation.
  • Abilities/Skills/Powers: Phantom is very proficient in sword combat, but he can also do fairly well at unarmed combat. He's also proficient in Light magic, being capable of making use of various techniques.
    • Binding Chain: Phantom creates a light circle in front of him from which a group of up to five golden chains come out. The chains all have blades at the end of them which allows them to pierce through enemies, but they can also be used to simply restrain them. Phantom has complete control over the movement of the chains, but the more he summons the harder it is to keep track of everything, he's also forced to stand in one place while using them.
    • Enchantment: Phantom is capable of enfusing objects with Light magic, giving them a golden coloration and making them stronger and more resilient. He can use the power on himself, but due to his sheer size it's not very efficient outside of desperate situations. As such, he often only enchants his weapon or those of his allies
    • Barrier Cage: A trap. Phantom draws a light circle around an area and once stepped into by anyone other than him a barrier of light emerges around them, trapping them inside although a strong enough fighter can potentially break free. It's a technique that takes time to set up, so it's often useless in the middle of a fight.
    • Flash Orb: Phantom creates an orb of light that once launched into something, it explodes into a blinding flash.
    • Healing Light: Phantom can heals others using his magic, his hands glow with a golden color and upon placing them on the injury, it quickly starts to heal. It does require him to make contact with the target though.
  • Other: Being an animated armor, Phantom cannot eat, sleep, feel pain or fatigue, meaning he can keep going for as long as he wants unless he has been incapacitated in some form. He has a weakpoint inside his helmet, a small crystal that contains his soul and if that crystal is destroyed then he's effectively dead as his soul won't be binded to the armor anymore. Furthermore, using too much magic can be harmful to him since he draws his power from the crystal and, therefore, his soul.

Yomegami Since: Jan, 2011
#71: Mar 7th 2016 at 5:39:03 PM

Not seeing anything objectionable here, so Phantom is accepted.

Check the OP of the main thread to know what your character's arrival should be like, as well as the last couple pages of the main thread and the OP of the discussion thread for a recap (though feel free to ask for elaboration if something's not clear).

On one hand, there's nothing that seems overly wrong with the character.

On the other hand, the description provided is horribly vague. I know very little about Gravity Falls and don't have much of an interest in watching it at this time, so I know jack squat about what the character's really capable of. It just seems like opening the door for an Ass Pull. As well, from observing your behavior in other RPs I'm not entirely sure you'll adhere to the guidelines or even read them.

I'm hesitant to reject you outright, but I have a lot of misgivings here.
