Historical works and decisions are in-scope as well, not just recent news.

This week, producer Ross Putnam started a Twitter account called "femscriptintros", where he puts up examples of how women are introduced in the screenplays he's read. And nearly all of sound like terrible porn or are too concerned with emphasizing said lady is beautiful despite whatever traits she may have. Here's a Take Two podcast made today where he talks about it.

Speaking of Bryan Singer, a new wave of allegations has come up against him.
Asia is just racist. And it is not racism to claim this, it is a reality which is based on the different societies and education system. There is way less reflection about this topic happening for cultural reasons, and that has consequences in wider society. Even Gandhi was among other things known for his racism against Black people.
But we shouldn't use this as a measuring stick for ourselves, as tempting as it might be for some people.
"Even Gandhi was among other things known for his racism against Black people."
He actually got over that when he saw how the British treated the Zulu, I believe.
Let's just say that there is a reason why Ghana removed his statue from their campus.
Those stories are really horrific and the closing statement is why I’m livid about Singer continuing to get off the hook and get rewards for his films.
The weird thing about the article is that the producers of An Open Secret claimed to be involved when the article was announced, but there is no mention of them in the article, although this might be because the people involved probably took a good look at who they associate with and the kind of things they say and realized it would be a bad idea. For starters, they are good pals with Info Wars and Milo Yiannopoulos and threatened to sue one of the victims when they disputed how they tried to tell their story. Plus, they regularly defend Trump and Brett Kavanaugh from their accusers, so there you go.
Power of Thor!Rami Malek’s response that the ghost of Freddie prevented him from googling Bryan Singer sounds so unconvincingly absurd...
Wait, what?!
Power of Thor!Malek: “I never really looked it up. I didn’t know much about Bryan. [...] Perhaps that was Freddie himself doing it, because we wanted to make a product that was worthy of him.”

I think Freddy would want better than a child molester working on a film of his life...
Power of Thor!> Rami Malek’s response that the ghost of Freddie prevented him from googling Bryan Singer sounds so unconvincingly absurd...
how does a ghost prevent you googling something?
I never knew a ghost could be so annoying
New theme music also a boxPerhaps that was Freddie himself doing it, because we wanted to make a product that was worthy of him. Who knows? I’m just proud that this cast and crew collectively raised their game and we depended on one another. It was a testament to everyone’s spirit and courage and skill. And one thing I will say about everyone — almost everyone — we never gave up. How about that?
It sounds... a little less ridiculous in full context. I'll say this, I can believe that Malik was already working on the project before Singer signed on and he genuinely just didn't bother to look him up until he started causing a crap ton of problems on set.
"In 900 years of time and space I've never met anyone who wasn't important."Well the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11 is shaping up to be pretty strong in female representation. Not only do we have the franchise's first female, final boss, but it has a playable female character in her 50s in Sonya Blade. Quite an accomplishment given how fighting games seem almost terrified of having women be older than 25 (and look like they're older than 25).
Of course, some fans have to be assholes about it.
Personally, I think Sonya still looks hot—because damn, even at 51, she’s still got it—but at the end of the day, if the point of Mortal Kombat is to highlight amazing fighters with sick fatalities, what does it matter if you can see Sonya’s entire bare chest or not? Is the fanservice so important for you that you can’t appreciate how Sonya Blade, the first female character in Mortal Kombat, has continued to evolve and change with the core cast?
“Bohemian Rhapsody” has lost its GLAAD Award nomination due to the charges against Bryan Singer.
However, he will still be directing “Red Sonja”.

TBH, Singer's probably thinking, "We didn't need that gay award anyway!"
"Somehow the hated have to walk a tightrope, while those who hate do not."If he was the kind to think of 'gay' as an insult, why the hell would he make a movie about Freddie Mercury
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youSome call me "gay" as an insult, some call me "gay" as a compliment.
Where there's life, there's hope.right now he's probably feeling like the walls are closing in as his powerful friends in hollywood can't protect him anymore, h'll lose the director's chair on red sonja I imagine
New theme music also a boxAlthough Bryan Singer is married to a woman, he identifies as bisexual. I think that was a big reason he got the Bohemian Rhapsody job.
This is the first time I've heard of Singer being associated with women. I've only ever heard of him described in strictly gay terms.
Sundance is trying to diversify its mostly white white male critics[1]
He has a three year old son with Michelle Clunie, who is apparently a close friend. That kid is going to have a terrible life...
Power of Thor!Similarly...
Sundance 2019: A List of Black Movies to Watch While You're in the White Mountains.
"Somehow the hated have to walk a tightrope, while those who hate do not.""On Gina Rodriguez and the Meaning of Color" by Arkee Escalera.
Basically, over the past year Gina Rodriguez has been noted to have a recurring tendency of denying Black and Latinx overlap and claiming representation for both is at odds with each other. Earlier this week on Swayuniverse she was confronted about this, to which she claimed that there is no anti-blackness from her because she has a dark-skinned father. Which... is not very convincing.note And much of the Black and Afro-Latinx community isn't convinced either.

Hasn't Jane The Virgin also gotten flack for having no Afro-Latinx actors besides Rosario Dawson?
Or comparing black people to monkey....in kenya no less, china is almost a century behind in that regard, and with no sign to change at all.
Red sonja movie is bad in that sonja recived a vision of a spirit detaling her mision...minutes after she was raped, even nostalgia critic said it "damn, have some tact spirit!".
