I played the originals out of order, beating YotD, then the first one. Haven't beaten Ripto's Rage yet. Of the two I have beaten, though, I slightly prefer 1 over 3, simply because 1 is more relaxing to play. 3 is better story-wise, though.
Year of the Dragon, Ripto's Rage, A Hero's Tail, Dawn of the Dragon, A New Beginning.
Everything past the first three is foggy, though. I don't honestly care much for anything outside of the trilogy and Hero's Tail. Shadow Legacy seems interesting, but I've never played it myself.
God the fight against Gulp is grade A garbage.
Edit: Why the fuck can he heal? This is bullshit.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? You are 20 years late to that...
I don't remember him being able to heal on the PS 1.
It also seems significantly harder to evade him in Reignited than it used to be.

Yeah, I've played the original Ripto's Rage countless times, so the Difficulty Spike really caught me off guard.
Wonder if they'll tweak that with a patch down the road, like they did with the Jet Ski levels in Warped.
'Still no news on a Switch port. It'll probably be announced at E3 then.
Reignited getting ported to PC thanks to Iron Galaxy, who helped with the Crash Insane ports.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Think you might've goofed up the link there, but holy crap I sure hope it's true.
I got Reignited. Why is the camera zoomed in so much?
Activision looking at new content for Crash and Spyro and more remasters of other games coming.
While nothing's officially confirmed yet, this *does* seem to point that we're getting a new Classic Spyro game in the future. My biggest hopes for this are 1; it takes most of its inspiration from the first game, 2; everyone stays in character and 3; it doesn't try to pretend like the games post-Insomniac trilogy didn't exist. I'd like to see Flame and Ember adapted into a more 'serious' Spyro game.
Speaking of more serious Spyro games, remake of Legend of Spyro, pls
Wow, no, please don't.
Why not? Being given the proper time and budget this time around so they can include all the cut material and make it a quality series could be great.
The only way I can see Legend of Spyro being remade is if the entire design process is remade from the ground up. The beat 'em up style has not aged well and arguably didn't age well when it was first created.
A Legend of Spyro game in the style of Classic Spyro's gameplay would be the most likely option if it happened. Although it's doubtful; if the Legend of Spyro series gets any form of reference, it'll likely just be Cynder adapted into the Classic series.
Either that or they revamp the combat. Not to character action levels but still a lot more competent.
Tbh, a simple EXP/Level up system for HP, Mana and physical attacks would have probably gone a long way towards fixing how repetitive combat in LoS can be. (Especially for The Eternal Night)
Like, unlockable moves, different tiers of magic, things like that?
Because they just made Spyro relevant again by going back to his roots. It would be the height of folly to follow up on that with a game with a vastly different gameplay style and completely different characters and aesthetics. Can you imagine how alienating that would be to newbies who were just introduced to the franchise?
That, and it'd also just be gratuitous. There's not much reason to remake games from the PS 2 or PS 3 eras in my opinion. Graphically, these games hold up just fine and wouldn't really benefit one way or the other from a PS 4 graphic overhaul. Asking for games like Legend of Spyro or, heaven forbid, the Jak games to be remade is just a pointless excercise in nostalgic pandering, not too different from Disney's current remake-mania.
In terms of Legend of Spyro, I wouldn't mind if Cynder and Malefor got integrated into the "Reignited Classic" timeline. In fact, I'd love it.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests. It'd be nice, though I like Elijah Wood Spyro more than Tom Kenny Spyro.
Other studios don't really have any objection to remastering games from previous generations. Or at least enhancing them. Though even if they enhance the Legend games, they could maybe still put in some of the cut content or add things.

Eh, Malefor is for all intents and purposes the Shadow Legacy villian.
Out of curiosity, I must ask: what are your top 5?
