Okay, so right now the four temperaments that make up a Four-Temperament Ensemble are named after the four humours, sanguine, choleric, melancholic, and phlegmatic. This is incredibly opaque, and anyone who hasn't memorized the article is going to have no idea what those names are supposed to describe. What I would like to do is change the names we use to refer to the temperaments throughout the wiki. The descriptions of the temperaments mention the names they have in the DISC personality profiling system: Dominant Driver, Inspired Influencer, Stable Supporter, and Contemplating Conscience. I think these would be good options, or at least a starting point.

I have to admit, I get confused by those names almost every time I come across them. Those proposed renames seem a bit clunky, but I'm leaning in favor of changing them.

Shouldn't this be TRS? I feel like discussing a rename would be more appropriate (and visible) there.

[up] Well, going through all the pages where the names appear and changing them seems like a bit of a project to me, is all. I guess if we're just discussing the possibility of the change, TRS would be better.

It should go through TRS first. The Projects (short or long) forums are for enacting decisions that have already been made.

Alright, message received, my bad. I can't move the post, though.

That's a mod/admin-only function.

You can, though, start a new thread. However, you need to provide evidence supporting your position. Normally this is done by checking wicks, either a random 50 entries or the entire page if less than 50 entries exist, but off the top of my head I don't know quite how that would apply to "too obscure to understand".

I don't think a wick check is necessary here. The issue is a disconnect between name and definition, not trope misuse.

If it's not causing misuse, what's the issue?

Aye, this should be posted in TRS. It needs some more evidence, so I'll lock instead of move.
