Thank goodness Koishi reminded Lune. Time was slipping really quickly.

"Right, I almost forgot about that", replied Lune. "I think I have a plan to stop the dragon."

"The dragon isn't bad," Cole said, still rocking himself where he stood, apparently still quite agitated at whatever it was he was seeing. "It can't help itself. It doesn't want to be here, doesn't want to do this but it doesn't know, its forgotten itself, what it is, where it came from. It's innocent, it doesn't mean what it is doing. I don't want to hurt it..."

Plague Knight merely watched from the ground as the dragon continued flight after examining the spriggan corpse, as well as collecting a few pieces for future study. He witnessed as a beam of light shot from the top of the beanstalk and impacting the dragon, shattering something.

A shield spell? he thought. How rare. So was it that shield spell that caused the dragon's invunerability? Curious. As he saw Twilight rescuing the person that was captured by the dragon, he overheard Asogre explaining to Ben that vanquishing the dragon before midnight would help those people affected by the conditions just yesterday.

He then remembered the extremely harsh weather, and imagined that there were people still out in the open during the worst of it......

"Oh dear," he said quietly. Ben then ran off. PK run out to the boy, easily catching up with him. "Drink this!" the knight said, pulling out a large flask with some kind of orange fluid Ben would consider orange soda to be an apt comparison. "It will give you the speed need to catch up with the dragon!"

Ben was running in the direction of the dragon when Plague Knight caught up to him and presented him with a fizzy orange potion of some sort, which Plague Knight instructed him to drink. Ben took the potion from Plague Knight and sniffed it, raising an eyebrow. "It'll give me speed? What is this?" Ben simply asked, not wanting to simply drink a mysterious beverage given to him by someone who he didn't exactly have the assurance of their sanity.

"It is an Arcana called a Fleet Flask!" PK explained. "A couple chugs of this drink is able to imbue with superhuman speed, something that we need to catch up with that dragon! Not something of my own creation, but I am in the process of replicating the formula!"

Ben looked at Plague Knight, unsure. He sounded completely serious right about now, on the other hand, who knows what kind of nasty side effects you'd get? You don't just start chugging potions left and right, he read enough comic books to know that sort of thing. Regardless, he realized that if he was going to contribute in the fight against the dragon, he really didn't have a choice.

"This better not turn me into something weird or anything..." Ben muttered, furrowing his brow. "Well. Here goes," he stated, before throwing his head back and downing a couple of sips of the potion.

Mary - Flawless Logic

"Well, I don't want to be near the dragon if it comes this way," Mary replied to the question she'd been asked, after pondering her answer for several minutes. "That's why I need to go up! If the dragon keeps busy with the people on the ground, then it won't come up the beanstalk!"

She turned around and faced the beanstalk, but then turned back to face Sadness.

"Do you want to come too? If you want I can carry you. You don't look so heavy."

Forest Velocity Zone/ Act 2

As Sonic ran towards the beanstalk, he sorta got confused about where he was. He then realized that he was running in circles. Seems like that changing ground did confuse him.

When Sonic finally arrived at the base of the bean stalk, He saw people at the base and people leaving to chase the dragon. He saw some people he haven't seen, but there was no time to talk about it. They had a dragon to defeat.

Sonic saw Ben heading out, but saw a weird guy with a skeleton mask give him some kind of potion. Sonic decided to talk to whoever this guy is.

"Hey, wait! Who are you? What did you just give to Ben?

Sawyer - Chill-out Team

"So you will be cleaning the mess you are not responsible for?" The cleaner looked at Asgore, a hint of amusement present on her face. "Perhaps if that librarian is shaken enough she could finally spill some information to finally get to the bottom of this."

She looked back at Specter Knight. "Here to claim someone's soul, Grim Reaper?" There was no mockery in her voice, supposedly; it sounded like the same dull, robotic monotone all the time.

Then her sunken-in eyes set upon Mary and Sadness. "It is best to not agitate it. It will leave you alone then, beanstalk or not. There might be some danger up there as well."

When Ben drank the potion, the first thing he would notice was the sweet taste akin to velvety melted milk chocolate. The second would the sudden urge to run and continue running, as if his legs went on autopilot, as well as the sudden rush in speed he was going in. No where near as fast as XLR 8, but certainly much faster than any normal human.

Plague Knight turned to Sonic as he summoned another flask. "Do not worry, the concoction is completely harmless!" he assured the hedgehog. "Its the stopping that may pose a problem." The knight then drank from the flask he summoned, and he too immediately speed off with great speed.

Ben finished off the potion, wiping his mouth with his forearm. Just then a peculiar feeling came over the boy. His heart began to race, his legs twitched, his very breath quick. Before Ben could even say anything, he was off.

"Whoa!!" Ben shouted. "How long does this last?!" he asked frantically, running in the direction of the dragon. He was closing in much faster than he would have previously, but he knew that XLR8 would've reached the dragon in no time.

"Until you actually hit a solid obstacle!" Plague Knight explained, running up next to Ben, affected by the potion as well. "That's the drawback I am aiming to improve with my own version of the potion!"

Top of the beanstalk

After dealing with al the spriggans, Lune and Koishi realized that time wasn't on their side and they should hurry to save Miss Tairee

"Yeah, you're right. I think the dragon is following Twilight now, we should help her" Rex looked a bit closer and recognized Tairee, who wearing her ridiculous clothes, being carried by the alicorn "And she has Tairee with her!"

Cole had once again started talking to himself about the dragon, saying that like everyone else in the city, he didn't want to be there.

"So, wait, are you saying he's sentient? Do you think he will listen to us?"

Ben's eyes widened when Plague Knight explained the limitation of the speed potion. "What?!" Ben shouted, still running at top speed. "Now you tell me!!" He stuck out his arms trying to catch himself and stop himself from running. He had stopped paying attention to where he was going, which would prove to be a bad idea.

A gnarled root of a tree. Ben's foot caught it at just the wrong angle. His now-racing heart skipped a beat as he fell forward, tumbling into a roll and ending up in a heap on the forest floor. He wasn't hurt, thankfully, but he was battered, shaken, and not too happy with the bird-beaked alchemist. Ben sat up, glaring at Plague Knight.

"Thanks," he flatly stated.

Mumbling a slurred and largely incomprehensible string of curses, Rick scrabbled for a hold as the dragon tore through the air. With every wing-beat, there came an accompanying judder along the serpentine monster's back; Rick's jury-rigged steam-suit shook, leaking steam from various vents and pipes. Another flap, and a chunk of armor tore away, revealing some of the vulnerable under-armor.

"Son of a-" Rick rolled his eyes and did his best to hang on, trying to anticipate the monster's increasingly fast and erratic movement. Clenching his flask between his teeth, the scientist cranked the levers forward, sending a crossbow bolt flying toward the tip of the dragon's wing.

"Swear to god, Morty, you'd better *urp* appreciate this."

"Uh... oh, man, Grimlock, I mean, uh... I dunno, I don't have super-powers or anything like the rest of you." Morty rubbed the back of his head self-consciously. "Like, th-there's not much I could do to kill that dragon, you know?" When Grimlock mentioned his bad leg, Morty knelt down and looked at the injured limb.

"Aw jeez... I, uh, I dunno how to make a sp-splint or nothing," he said. "I guess I could t-try- I can try, though." There was a pause while Morty grabbed some branches off the dead spriggans. "Uh... I think?" he said after a moment of self-reflection. "I-I-I, uh, is a splint the right kind of... thing for this situation?"

"No! He can't, something is controlling him!" Cole looked to Rex, eyes wide and fearful. "There is glass inside his head, a film over his mind, holding him back from who he is! Whatever has brought him here will not let him be, it is making him something else! It was the same for the trees! They are not doing this of their will, something else is forcing them to act this way! What madness is controlling this place, that it would do this??"

Vendral couldn't turn as tightly as Twilight, which gave her a bit of time as she dived underneath him, but he followed just the same, clipping the tops of some trees as he arced dangerously close to the ground. "Ya'll are planning on killing this dragon, right?!" Miss Tairee said, yelling to be heard through the whipping wind around Twilight. "Or heck, I'll do it if ya'll just get me- LOOK OUT!" As she looked back at Vendral, the mighty dragon was firing out a torrent of flame from both mouths, sweeping them back and forth. Neither were aimed directly at Twilight, but rather underneath her, trying to force her away from the ground via both the threat of burning trees and the updraft from the heat.

Being in the direct path of that oncoming wall of fire, Brother Marcus quickly stopped, and then moved behind one of the trees. For what little protection it could offer, it would at least keep him from getting cooked alive instantly again. Once it had passed over, Brother Marcus looked back at the now departing form of Vendral and fired off a crossbow bolt to follow; it hit Vendral near the base of his tail and exploded, getting a roar of pain from Vendral, but not deterring the dragon from its course after the alicorn.

During this, Vendral had never really stopped flapping his wings to keep gaining on Twilight; the tip of one of the wings was pretty much an impossible target for Rick if he still chose to fire that crossbow bolt anyway.

Having passed over Kouta and Brother Marcus, now it was Ben, Plague Knight, and Sonic out in front of the charging dragon.

"And whatever is controlling it, it's making people get killed while we're talking!" She pointed her sword in the direction of the burning forests on the horizon, saying "There's probably people living in those forests, and they don't know this dragon's deal. I think the value of their lives are equal to it, right?"

On any other day, she would probably have decided to wait out the entire thing, consciously or not. She slept through an entire revolution without noticing until someone told her about it, so a forest burning down would be small stuff.

This particular situation emboldened her in a way that felt entirely new. She was ready to go out there and fight a god, save people she didn't care about, do cool stuff, and she had no idea why.

She took to the air, excitement in her heart. "I'm going to fight a dragon whether you like it or not! If Ms. Lune would tell me her plan, I'll be sure to make its death quick!"

"No, I don't want to go up the beanstalk," Sadness said insistently. Though she didn't doubt that Mary could carry her. She didn't weigh all that much.

The ground - and the surrounding area - did seem to be getting more dangerous, actually. A little man in a scary mask (???) tried to talk to her, but he quickly became caught up with doing...something with Ben. She wasn't watching, though she hoped Ben wouldn't get hurt. A dead monster thing crashed to the ground near them, and Sadness made a panicked noise and scooted further from the base of the beanstalk.

Stalling for time, Sadness glanced at Mary. She had put away her dagger, but Sadness couldn't let go of the likelihood of Mary panicking and stabbing someone again. It made her even more reluctant to let the girl out of her sight...wait - that was it!

"You can go up there," Sadness said, "but on one condition. I don't want you hurting yourself or, um, others. So you have to let me hold onto your knife."

Base of the Beanstalk

"Eventually." Spectre Knight replied to the headswoman, not completely listening. Something about being here to claim souls?

Apparently, Plague Knight and some boy had decided it was a good idea to run after the dragon. Idiots...

It seemed that both Mary and Sadness would go. Well, the latter seemed reluctant to climb the beanstalk and Sawyer couldn't blame her, really.

Oh well. There was no permanent death, or so she's been told.

"Of course." She nodded at Specter Knight, glancing idly to the side. Well, boredom did beat certain death. "Feel free to await it here; no doubt someone will perish by dragon's doing."

Top of the beanstalk

Cole asked who would be able of making the dragon and the plant people do his bidding.

"Believe me when I say that the guy in charge of this place is will pay"

He also didn't want to hurt it. Typical.

"Look, I get that he's not himself right now but we need to help Twilight and save Tairee. We have to take him down, maybe just cut his wings or something"

Luckily, Lune had an idea to deal with the dragon. Rex didn't want to be on the recieving end of friendly fire again, so he decided to listen.

"We could use one"

"I'm hardly cleaning up anything, all I did was provide some information." Asgore sighed before looking back at where Ben went, he was a little concerned about the boy going out on his own after the dragon but fortunately others showed up to accompany him, which helped put his mind at ease. "I do not think there is much we can do to get much information from her, I did spend some time talking with her, but it didn't really go anywhere."

Beanstalk

"Tried torture?" Sawyer suggested to the boss monster, slowly shuffling herself back to her feet. "Pain is an option even amongst the immortal."

"Y-yes. Cripple the wings, bring it to the ground. That is how we fought the dragons back home. It was the only way. They could fly, we could not. Some of you...can. But it is not safe. It is so much farther to fall if you get hurt."

Cole shifted, then reached back, drawing one dagger, offering his other hand to Rex. "If that is what we must do, then it is regrettable...but we have more people to help. I am willing to help bring the dragon down."
